??Food prices at Pepper Market??

I'm used to Disney prices being pretty consistent. But I'm noticing Pepper Market prices quite a bit higher. Are their portions bigger? Different quality?

I can't imagine their oatmeal being worth 1.50 more.

I'm also seeing breakfast prices at Maya Grill almost the same as the food court. I know I'd much rather enjoy a sit down breakfast, so I'm wondering if the Maya Grill is packed for breakfast?

If we decide to stay at CSR, I think we're going to have some breakfasts in the room, and maybe a few at the Maya Grill. I can't justify the food court prices. :-(

Neither the Pepper Market nor the Maya Grill are owned by Disney, so they're not restricted to Disney's pricing. I'm sure some prices are higher because Coronado is also a convention resort so they figure many guests are on expense accounts.

I think this is probably incorrect. They have a contract with Disney, and it is very likely that the contract includes guidelines for pricing, including ranges for each course, and probably limits to how often and by how much the vendor can change their prices.

ETA: I think the oatmeal at Pepper Market is more than other "food courts" because Pepper Market is a little more than a food court, but not quite a table service venue. So you get slightly higer pricing for the ambience.

I guess that makes sense. But I'm still trying to understand why would someone pay 10 for a pancake breakfast at a food court (a food court where tip is added onto your bill), as opposed to paying 10 for the same breakfast at a TS in the same resort. Maybe some folks prefer a quicker service in the morning

we just ate lunch at Pepper Market in November...and have to say it is so NOT worth the prices --we were on the deluxe dining, so everything was covered, but we did notice how much more expensive lunch was there that any other counter service restaurant we've been to. And it really is a counter-service place, albeit a slow service one...you go to the stations, order your food, and wait for it--they don't deliver the food to you. Our experience: the food looks wonderful but is about as bland and flavorless as it can get. Service was virtually non-existent...server brought a beverage at the beginning of the meal & then disappeared until time for bill --no refills, no How's your food", etc. (And even bringing the bill only happened when we made very dramatic we're leaving-gather your things-put on your coat-motions -- she was nowhere to be seen before that. And no, the place was not busy at all when we were there, so she wasn't waiting any other tables. The "servers" were all standing in a corner chatting, near as I could tell.) Think the "service" is a thinly veiled way to underpay the people who bus the tables (by pretending they are "servers")
