We shared a brat with kraut and it was great! DH eats the kraut and said it was great, the brat was nice and had a good spice to it and the soft steamed roll.....OY it was perfect!
And a few pics from the candy store in Germany! I found the gingerbread men and asked if they were fresh and soft, when I bought one in March it was dry and stale. The CM said they were so we bought one,
On our way to China I had to get another Peach Snap! And again, I was lucky enough to drink it all myself!
DH has an eggroll fetish and since Nine Dragons bit the dust he had them at Lotus Blossom instead...they were so much better!
After a ride on Maelstrom I wanted a fancy water from Norway and I took a few pics, could not get them all because the cases were all fogged up with condensation.
And tonights dinner was BlueZoo, have read wonderful reviews and seen fantastic pictures from Brenda and Rosie and the DisneyFamily...so excited to try it ourselves! Quick walk from the Swan so DH had to get to bed early, it was perfect!
We arrived at 6:30, the bar was empty, the restaurant was just about empty. We were seated in a cozy little round booth in the back of the restaurant. Our server was Jay, great guy, super attentive but not smothering at all. Great suggestions and very helpful! The restaurant is gorgeous, there are "dancing fish" rotating on a spit at the entrance past the bar, that is how they cook them so they look like they are dancing. The raw bar was impressive too....the atmosphere is very calming and relaxing.
We both had ice tea and Fiji water.
The bread was great, there was a parmesan cheese lavosh that to me tasted like burnt cheese but Todd liked it alot. A nice thing dense chewy ciabatta bread and the best, these little bread squares with carmelized onions on top...oh sweet carbohydrated god thank you! I scarfed these puppies down fast and Jay was quick to bring more.
And the butter, oh my the butter. It is a fennel infused butter and I could have licked the little bowl. Fennel, or anise, is the licorice tasting celery looking thing that we always eat from Oct-Jan (that is the only time Publix carries it) and it is very crisp and clean tasting. This butter with the little bread squares and I was one Happy Italian Chick!
DH was getting scared off by the menu, he said he didnt know what any of it was so he decided on the cheese flatbread for an appie because they did not have any salads. The flatbread was insane, nice crisp and super thin, the cheese was salty and chewy, the basil fresh and the sauce was not a tomato sauce but more like a cream tomato sauce that was thick and rich and wonderful.
I wasnt feeling any fish tonight, we are supposed to go to FF tomorrow so I thought hey, I will get the filet. BlueZoo is the winner of the best filet ever award, better than Jiko, kicks Cali Grills in the pants and beats Le Cellier by a mile. I had it cooked med rare, it was cooked med rare. It was nestled on a bed of creamy mashed potatoes, carmelized red onions, balsamic reduction and pureed carrots that DH and I fought over. I loved my meal, DH loved my meal and I will get my butt back to BlueZoo in Oct!
Todd wanted the chicken, he loved it...especially the skin which I do not feed him at home, 2 days in a row he was allowed to eat chicken skin and he is so happy....I may sound like a strict wife but I need a healthy husband around for a long time ya know? But on vacation all that goes out the window and he is free to eat how he wants. The potato cake was good, the peas were terrific and the chicken was so moist and flavorful but the best part was the salted parmesan greens on the top...HOLY MOLY he loved it!
As if we didnt have enough food we also ordered the garlic olive oil fries with fresh herbs like thyme and rosemary...wowza these were the best fries I have ever had...we left the mashed potatoes and the potato cake on our plates and ate all the fries!
Jay asked if we wanted dessert, Todd said of course and I said just one cuz I am bursting at the seams!
Jay said the first dessert, the molten chocolate cake was super thick, dense and very very rich so DH opted for the banana tart. It was very sweet, tart, creamy and light...great end to a great meal. It comes out looking so cool with this white chocolate ball on the top and then Jay doused it with a warm rum sauce....I can actually feel the pounds adding on right now.
So if you are thinking of a killer meal, run do not walk, to BlueZoo...you will not be sorry! Many thanks to Briarosie, TigerKat, Oybolshoi and the DisneyFamily for recommending this joint...we will be back for sure!
This is the steak and shrimp at Yak and Yeti!! It was good !! The rice was just okay !! They didn't ask how I wanted the steak done !! I like it rare so it was a little over cooked for me !! I thought the presentation was awesome though!!!
French onion soup! I thought that it was very good!:
Filet de boeuf grille, sauce au poivre noir Gratin Dauphinois et haricots verts - Grilled tenderloin of beef with a black pepper sauce original potato gratin of Savoy and green beans: the potatos were really good.
I dont remember what it was. Sorry she said it was yummy!
My dessert:Crepe a la pomme et cannelle, glace vanille, caramel jus de pommes - Crepes filled with cinnamon, apple, vanilla ice cream and apple caramel sauce... This was SUPER yummy!
Cantina de San Angel: Guacamole and Chips to go with my Fiesta Marguerita (below). The food was awful as I suspected since I am picky about guac but the marguerita was sure good!
Beach Club Marketplace: The roast beef and brie on cibatta cold sandwich and a chocolate chip pastry. Both were very good... I have eaten this sandwich before and it's very good everytime
Pinocchio Village Haus: Figaro Fries, not that great as the new version- it just feels so dang fatty. At least with the old version, you can pretend it's healthier with the lettuce and tomatoes.
The bread that came with the meal. It was so delicious I could have died, but I didn't, I was going to ask to take some home but our waiter was a complete d-bag.
We both had this, the teriyaki NY strip. It was up there in deliciousness but during the trip, the steak at Coral Reef was much better.
This wasn't on the menu and I don't know what it was called but I just pointed and said, I want that, to the table next to us.
First thing this morning I walked to the BWI Bakery, no lines, no one on the boardwalk....here is the view from my outside little table.
I decided on a tomato, cheese and egg croissant and a bottle of Evian..at the last minute I spotted a Mickey shaped small blueberry muffin so I ordered that too. The croissant sandwich was great, the croissant itself was not greasy, the eggs were fluffy but what made the sandwich was the thick red delish tomato..it was incredible!
The muffin was not what I thought I was going to get...for one thing it looked like this:
ICK BLECH UGH! It was so darn greasy and gross .... who would want to eat this? Well I can tell you, the birds, they attacked the crap outta me and basically took off with the entire muffin!
Then I walked to Epcot and now they let you in early and you walk all the way to the Refreshment Port close to Le Cellier and rope drop you from there. I made it to Soarin, it had a 30 minute wait already so I grabbed my FP and took a pic of the menu for Garden Grill and the breakfast at Sunshine Seasons
Since I had time before my FP I went to the Nemo show but first I stopped at the Coral Reef for menu pics
If you guys every get the chance you have got to see the fish feeding second floor at the Nemo show building....it is sooo cool! There are 4 or 5 people in the tank feeding the huge sea turtles, sting rays, fish etc...it is amazing to watch!
The park was a nightmare, just packed to the gills with people, and soo freaking hot I was losing my mind, I think I bought 4 bottles of water in less than an hour. Right at 11am I started towards the countries, that thinned the crowd out alot. Since we were just there yesterday there are a ton of "Under Renovation" stuff up all over Epcot.
Here are pics of the dinner menu to Le Cellier... Could not get lunch because a barricade was blocking it
I tried to get more menu pics for you guys but outta no where there was a million hungry people looking at the menus to the other countries and I couldnt get near them.
I was so darn hot I needed a drink ASAP so I ordered the Primavera, very cold, not too sweet and had a nice kick...I had another one when my entree was delivered.....too small for $10 but right then I wasnt complaining!
Fresh olive oil, bread basket with rustic bread, bread sticks and a cracker like thing were delivered promptly (by someone else) and it was good but I just had a nibble of all three, didnt want to fill up. There was a little pot of olives, nice and salty and tangy and tender meat on the stone....beware of the pit.
I didnt want to eat heavy and I wanted a salad..my server said the sandwiches do not come with anyting so I ordered the mixed greens salad with thin sliced roasted zucchini (on the bottom), it was spicy and light and fresh and delish...I swear it was the best salad ever.
I decided on the PLT Panini, with prosciutto and mozzarella, a spicy mayo with lettuce and tomato on a dense bread....HOLY ITALIAN LOVE! I was hooked...this is the kinda sandwich my grandfather made us as kids, all fresh ingredients that tasted like it was picked from the garden! It came with a little salad but I could not eat that.....stupid server should have told me! I would get this sandwich over and over again!
I needed something sweet and it was just so nice and comfy in there, I wanted to stay longer! I decided on the second dessert, a light moist chocolate cake on the bottom, chocolate marscapone cheese and then a light whipped cream....Can I say it? SLAP YO MAMA GOOD! No wonder why everyone was ordering it, so light and good and creamy and refreshing! Thank goodness Todd was not there because I would have not shared no way no how!
Killer bread, it was served hot and crusty on the outside and soft and doughy on the inside, DH and I have a good thing worked out, he gives me the crust and I give him the dough!
Super creamy butter, not a frozen slab that some places give you
DH started off with a mozzarella and 3 type of tomato salad....this was so light and fragrant and sweet and fresh tasting, we loved it!
DH also wanted to try the corn soup with the rock shrimp so I told him I would order it for him since I didnt want anything else...wow was I glad I did because it was delish! There was diced potatoes, carrots, cubed bacon, corn and 4 crispy fried tender rock shrimp. THe soup was very light and sweet and awesome! I am sure there was cream in it but it wasnt heavy or thick at all.
I could not decide on the scallops or the snapped and the waiter said the scallops were the best but if I didnt like them he would give me the snapper instead. Well the scallops were fantastic! Cooked perfectly, super tender and sweet and the fresh pea risotto was a great accompaniment to the scallops....it was very light and refreshing and DH loved it too....he ate half of it! The risotto changes seasonally, in Oct it was a pumpkin risotto.
DH had the NY Strip again and I convinced him to order it medium and he did and it was cooked a perfect medium and he ate every single bite. Great char on the outside, bernaise sauce on the top and yummy roasted veggies...I did eat a few bites myself and I am not a NY Strip kid but I really enjoyed it.
This is a chocolate mint cake with almond ice cream, the ice cream was insane, loaded with almond flavor but no almonds and the mint cake was super moist and tasted like a Girl Scout Thin Mint. This was Todd's favorite
This is a dulce de leche with thin chocolate cookies in between and chocolate croutons on the top....I could eat and entire bowl of chocolate croutons! This was my favorite.
This is a light chocolate thing with rasperry stuff inside and it was ok but the balsamic glaze they put on it was not sweetened enough so the tastes were way off and kinda icky.
Burger w/Onion ring and Mushrooms on the side (This was sooo large) Since we were OOP there hubby and I split the salad and burger and we were both full!
My sister's Light up drink, drink was yummy cup was cool but it was sooo expensive!
