Food, Fun, and Frivolity: 8 Funtabulous days w/pics! UPDATE 1/20 HELP!!!!

Awww love your update!!! I love all of the EPCOT pics!! We just got back last night and I am in denial I think :rotfl: We had the best pineapple margarita in Mexico...that new bar is awesome!

Hi guys..sorry i've been gone but I have some bad news..maybe not as tragic for others, but it is for me.

My kitty is lost, and I have no idea where she is.

IMG_1618.jpg

I just went to Kinkos right now to make some flyers and posted them around our neighborhood on the mailboxes.

I haven't cried this much or this hard since my dad died 3 years ago.

I remember Bonnie (bangzoom) saying that her sister had lost her dog, and I replied back that pets are apart of your family. My kitty was given to me a month after my dad and grandpa both passed away suddenly, to keep my busy and occupied (which it did, she was a hyper, spoiled kitten). Whenever I cried about my dad, my kitty pretty much knew to come comfort me, which she always did. So for me to lose her is tragic.

I know cats come and go as they please, but it's been two days. I plan on going for a walk, out into the empty fields/streets where there was supposed to be houses at, but are now just filled with tall grass and weeds.

I just can't stop crying, i called into work today, i'm just a mess.

Something else that doesn't help me. Where we moved to, is on the outskirts of town...which means there are some, not lots, of coyotes. We live on a fairly quiet yet filled neighborhood and we live smack dab in the middle of it. So if, god forbid, my kitty got snatched up by a coyote, hopefully someone would have seen it.

Wish me luck and please send prayers for strength, even if I don't find her.

Allison, I know you feel me on this issue, cuz I know you LOVE you kitties too...

I wish you lots of luck and will say lots of prayers for you to find your kitty!! I understand what it feels like, especially with cats, our cat is like our baby here at home and it is not silly to feel upset...I hope that you find your kitty asap

Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear about your cat! My fingers are crossed for you that she makes it home soon. I know lots of times cats hide out really close to home...once, when I was visiting my parents and they were cat-sitting for my sister, her cat got out and was gone for a few days. We searched high and low for her, and finally discovered that she was hiding in the bushes right beneath the window she escaped through!

Ahh how nice you get to go in a few weeks!! You'll have a blast and hopefully the weather will be nice! You must report back here and let me know how the weather is because DH gets a week off in October (this year it's the 11-15 of October) and we want to do the F&W Festival, but I want to see what the weather will be like! So please come back and tell me! :worship:
I went last year during that week in mid-October that you're considering, and the weather was wonderful. I wore light pants one evening, and my last day got into the low 90s. But other than that, I was comfortable in shorts and T-shirts the whole time. I'm hoping that it's that nice this year, too!

joining in. I loved your food reviews and just found you TR.
Sorry to hear about your cat and I'm hoping someone finds your baby and bring it home to you.:grouphug:

I feel so bad for you, are you sure she went outside? You moved into a new house recently and maybe she found a spot that no one knows about.

I really hope you find her. I have a "special needs" cat who I adopted and didn't know at the time she had problems. One of our cats opens the sliding screen doors and she got out one night. There is a bar around the corner and she headed on up there and got herself adopted! I put up flyers with a BIG reward and thank god, someone decided they would rather have the money than the cat. Her symptoms developed later and I'm not sure someone else would have kept a cat in her condition.

Best of luck, I really hope she comes back!

Just received this email:

"Hello,
I believe it was your cat that I found yesterday morning. I'm sorry to say that I found it dead in my front yard (on Ryan Ave). Animal control was called out to pick it up. Let me know if you have any questions."

I'm so upset right now. I can't believe my little girl's gone. I can't stop crying and I have a huge headache from it. My heart even hurts.

Oh my gosh. I am so sorry!!! I can't imagine what you must be going through. You don't know me from a hidden mickey - I just signed up a few days ago - but I'm just as in love with Disney as you, and also love my kitty to bits. You seem like such a nice, lovely, beautiful person - and your kitty is one of the prettiest I've ever seen. I am so sorry for your loss. :worried:

On a happier note, I just want to thank you for posting this TR. The pictures are just adorable, and the stories too.

Oh no! That's awful...we have microchips in all our cats and I remember when I received the phone call from Animal Control about my cat (white) Chocolit. She was the first cat that DP and I "raised" together, she was only about 5 years old. My heart hurt for weeks.

Just about a year ago we lost our baby. He was part of a litter that a feral momma moved into my FIL's truck. We rescued them and eventually had to take the mother to animal control because she was just too wild, but we found homes for her four babies. Unfortunately, they all had the "roaming" gene. The one that we kept was hit by a car, and the neighbor kids came to our door to tell me about it just after it happened. The other two went to live with a friend of ours in Tulare, one was hit by a car and the other suddenly passed away in her closet. They were all only 1 year old.

The point is that as much as we love them, they are wild animals with instincts and unless we keep them inside 24-7 even then we can't guarantee their safety. I'm SO sorry because especially since she was your only kitty, it's really tough. She was so beautiful. We have more than I would like to admit on a public forum, so our only solace when we have lost one is that we have others who love us. I hope that when you are ready, you consider another and adopting from a reputable agency. We lost two in the last six weeks, but they were both over 17 years old so it was time, but it didn't make it any more heart wrenching to let them go.

My prayers are with you in your time of need. I know it's really sad. I can't even imagine how I will feel when my Sunny goes, she is my lover-girl and total sweetheart. I can't imagine not being able to snuggle with her. She's almost 5 and can't go outside without supervision because of her disability. Take care of yourself. :grouphug:

:sad1: I'm so sorry to hear about your kitty!

I haven't lost a pet yet in my adult life, so I can't even imagine what you're going through. I'm a big time animal lover though, it's going to be really hard when my kitty leaves me.

You're in my thoughts!

I am SO sorry to hear this.. it will take time to heal and feel better about it...this to me is a "family member" and it takes time to deal with...lots of  and prayers for you!

I am so sorry about your kitty.... :sad1: I have been reading your trip report (which is awesome, by the way!) but tuned in today and saw your update. I am trying not to cry for you!!! My thoughts are with you...I love love my animals and know how you must be feeling. Take care.

Hi everyone!

Thanks for all your kind words! :goodvibes I feel so loved here on the Dis!

So, it's been a rough two weeks for me, but I'm healing...and i'll show you why i'm healing...

This fellow is named Thomas O'Malley (from Aristocats of course! :thumbsup2 ) Two days after my lil girl died, DH and I were talking about adopting very soon. As soon as we were done talking, I had to run a quick errand to my mom's place. On the way, this cat darts in front of my car (not too close where I can hit him, but close enough to where I can make out his color) I pulled over because it looked like he was going to wander onto a busy street, so I figured I'd call him to see if he came to me (full knowing that stray cats hardly EVER come to you when you call them). I got out of my car and whistled at him and he started crying and ran right over to me. I opened my passenger side door, and hopped right in! It was cute. So I turned around and showed DH who was like, we LITERALLY just got done talking about adopting a cat, and look what you've done...already adopted I see! :lmao: I looked in the papers the next few days to see if anyone had lost him and nothing popped up. He goes in the litter box and comes right to you when you call him and he's EXTREMELY lovable! :lovestruc We put him outside just to see if he would hang around while we were gone for the weekend and sure enough he stayed so he's officially ours! Got him neutered and vaccinated this past monday, so he's inside for good! Funny story: I needed to get my oil changed before leaving for the weekend so I took my car in to my local auto oil changers. They opened the hood and said, "Ma'am there's a cat under your hood." I was shocked and scared! First thought was, omgosh is it Lil Ma?? Then I thought, omgosh is this cat completely ripped apart?? And my last thought was, it better not be O'Malley. I asked if it was OK for me to look, as in, I'm not gonna see anything gross right? He said nope and to take a look. Sure enough, O'Malley had made himself right at home on top of a box looking thing (I soooo know my cars right :lmao:) and he just looked up and started meowing. I was mortified and embarrased!! They said, is this your neighbors cat???? "Yup!!! It sure is!," I said! :rotfl: That brat could have fallen through the car and on to the street!!!!

Anyways, I also have one more thing to show you guys, and bangzoom you'll love this!

This little guys name is Percy (the pug from Pocahontas! :cutie:) He's 8 weeks old in these pics but he'll be 10 weeks on Monday. I've always wanted a pug and we had always planned on getting one for my cat to play with when we weren't home. So we decided to get one even though lil Ma was no longer with us. And as soon as he's totally vaccinated, we'll put O'Malley and Percy together, since O'Malley was sooooo friendly with my mom's dogs!

So as you can see, i've been busy making an animal shelter out of my home! :lmao:

But tomorrow morning, i'll continue my TR! So again, thanks for helping me through this rough time and for sticking around!

P.S.....I'm going to Disneyland Nov 19-22 and staying at the Grand Californian!!! :woohoo: :yay:

I'm so glad you're recovering with more animals! Isn't it so perfect when they find us? That's how we got all of our cats. O'Malley is so cute! I'm so glad he was OK when you got the oil change. That could have been dangerous. We have a cat that comes by occasionally for dinner and we've named him O'Malley too! :rotfl2:

Your pug is so cute too! I hope the two become good friends.

Hey! So you'll be at the GCH the same time that we'll be at the DLR. Our Concert Band plays there every year and this year we got our 2nd choice instead of our 1st, so instead of playing on Nov 14, we are playing in DCA on the 21st...we would have stayed at the VGC, but we reserved our 1st weekend and not the 2nd, we had to reschedule for the DLH with points, but we'll be staying Sat night and playing on Sunday morning. We find out the time in a couple weeks, but you should pop by the stage and check us out! :thumbsup2 We're playing all sorts of happy Disney music!

Percy is the cutest!
Congrats on your adoptions of O'Malley too.

How funny!!! I now have to name any animals from here on out Disney characters! I HAVE to! :lmao:

Oooooh yay!!! How awesome that we'll be there when you're there!!! When you find the times out, please let me know so I can go by and check it out!! Are you talking about the stage in front of the Monsters Inc ride?? And what kind of music do you play?!?!

I know! Percy is adorable! :cutie: He'll make a great companion when he gets older! And thanks about O'Malley! He's such a good cat and he's still relatively young too, so hopefully he'll be around for a while! :goodvibes

We'll know the time in about a week or two, yes, it's the stage in front of Monsters Inc. We normally play at 9:30 or 10:30AM for half an hour. We play all kinds of music from show tunes, to marches and serious classical music. When we play at Disney we always pick upbeat tunes, we're opening with a medley of Disney music, then 76 Trombones from the Music Man, Cruella De Vil, and another medley of American songs, and then a March which is the fight song of the Texas Longhorns.

It's a fun performance and then everyone gets complimentary admission to one of the parks after we play.  I have an AP so it really doesn't make a difference, but it's fun for the other band members.

Oh how fun!!! Sounds great! I'll definitely try to stop by then!! Wow, you even get a free day pass?! Technically, you could use it to get more FP's right?? hmmm, or wait, you don't need to get your AP scanned when you enter through the park as a group huh??...oh well, was trying to find a better way for you to make use of that ticket!
