Food, Fireworks, & Fun on the Fantasy_A TR + July 2025 PTR WDW ***Update 7/1

Continued from last post...

When we got tired of all this beach fun, we headed back toward the main area of activity. It was lunch time, so we hopped in line for our food. The line was pretty darn long, but it moved at a fair pace.

Once we had our food, we found a place in the shade to eat. We’d also seen on YouTube that Lookout Cay had a problem with flies, but we didn’t have that experience at all, thankfully.

We took our time, getting more ice cream and just relaxing.

After a bit, Micheal spotted Donald Duck out meeting guests, so we hopped into the short line!

I loved his fun outfit!

We also checked out the junkanoo photo ops.

Next up, shopping at the gift shops! We bought a few items, including a keychain for Ashlyn and a tropical Mickey for Miles. We really just took our time making our way back toward the ship, at this point it was around 3PM, which meant we still had plenty of time before the all aboard would be called.

What did we do? Went back to the ship! We wanted to check out the Aquaduck on the Fantasy! This turned out to be a fantastic choice, because almost everyone was still on the island. We did the waterslide over and over and over with little to no wait. It was so much fun! You can ride single or double on a raft that goes through a water slide that circles most of the ship. We really loved it!

Then, Micheal took Miles to enjoy the smaller water slide while Ashlyn and I went to find some pizza and chicken fingers. It was a super relaxed afternoon without the hordes of people!

There was no need to rush back to our rooms to get ready for the evening show, as tonight we wouldn’t be having a show. Instead, it was Pirate Night! We’d brought clothes to wear. Well, with the exception of Micheal because every party has a pooper. Ha! Just kidding.

This was where Ashlyn finally met up with the YouTubers. At some point in the afternoon, Miles and I were riding the elevator coming from getting (more) pizza and ice cream and taking it back to our room.

The YouTube family was on the elevator with us, and the kids were chatting with Miles. They were SO SWEET. No cameras were rolling, and they were just genuinely kind.

I considered telling them that my 15 year old was low key stalking them, but I decided not to. They’d mentioned they were going to be at the pirate party, so I knew to keep an eye out for them.

The Pirate Party would be taking place before our 8:15 dinner seating, so we made our way out to the main deck to join the fun. That place was packed! But it was manageable, and we were looking forward to it.

Eventually, I spotted the YouTubers and pointed them out to Ashlyn. She gathered her courage and went to say hello. The gal was very gracious.

We stayed for the show and truly loved every moment of it.

Unfortunately, it was during this show that I began to realize I wasn’t feeling too hot. Like, the world was spinning around me.

I managed to ignore it, and when the show ended we went back inside the ship to meet some characters before dinner. But my dizziness was turning to nausea. The seasickness had finally found me.

Micheal took Miles to meet a few characters while I went to our room to lay down for a bit. I don’t know why, but it didn’t occur to me to take an extra dose of Bonine. I’d been taking it faithfully once a day since 2 days prior to the cruise.

When it was time for dinner, I met Micheal back on deck 3. We were eating at Royal Court once again, this time for the Pirate Night menu.

I can’t remember what I ate, only that my seasickness continued to get worse throughout the meal. As it turned out, it wasn’t only me. Miles started feeling woozy too. We must have hit a bad patch in the water. I took him to the bathroom because he wasn’t feeling too great. Then, when Micheal finished eating he came to the bathroom to sit and wait for Miles while I went back to finish my meal.

Needless to say, I was glad when that was over!

I went back to the room, and Micheal took Miles and Ashlyn to meet more characters. It was at this time that I realized I could take an extra dose of Bonine, so that’s exactly what I did.

Micheal and Miles made it back to the cabin just in time for the fireworks at sea, which we could see clearly from our balcony (hooray!). Won’t lie, they were a little puny. Haha!

Once that had finished, we were pooped. Went to be and slept soundly! The next day was our sea day, and we (mostly) looked forward to relaxing.

PTR UPDATE!

I’ll start with an update for our trip in a few weeks! We’re staying at All Star Sports, and we’ve requested the Hoops section, because Miles is obsessed with basketball.

We’ve also made plans for driving down with my whole family (parents, and my sister and her family). We’ll be leaving at 7PM on Friday and driving overnight to check in on Saturday, July 26th.

Lastly, I have found a snack I want to try at Epcot! It can be found in the Norway Pavilion at the Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe. It’s an orange cinnamon roll, and oh my goodness, it looks yummy!

Days 4 & 5 on the Disney Fantasy

Firstly, I found a picture of our cabin I thought I'd share!

We had a deluxe ocean view verandah cabin, and it had the split bathroom as well as the heavy curtain that pulls between the bed and the sofa/pullman bed. It worked really well for us!

Day 4 was a day at sea. Our kids slept in, but Micheal and I woke early and made our way up to deck 10 for coffee. The standard coffee that’s free on the cruise is nothing to write home about, but we brought our own creamer from home, and we made due.

Regardless, it was beautiful and peaceful up on deck 10, and we enjoyed it. We sat at a table and enjoyed being at sea while we sipped our coffee. We talked about how much Micheal was loving the cruise, and what we planned to do for the day. The Buena Vista Theater was playing Moana 2 that morning at 8AM, and Miles had been begging me to take him to see it.

Once we finished our coffee, we grabbed some breakfast from Cabanas and took it back to our room. They had Mickey Churro Waffles today!!! These were so yummy.

Once we got back to the room, we woke up the kids and asked who wanted to go to the movie. Miles did, Ashlyn definitely did not. She rolled over and went back to sleep. Miles got dressed, and we trooped down to deck 5 to the theater. At first, we were the only ones in the theater, but it slowly filled with several other groups. It wasn’t even half full by the end of it, but there was a small crowd.

Miles thought it was so cool going to the movies on a cruise, so we enjoyed ourselves. In the meantime, Micheal and Ashlyn ended up walking all over the ship and exploring.

When the movie was over, Miles wanted to go to the kids club, so I took him over there. He loved the kids club on the ship, and he never wanted to leave.

Back in our cabin, Micheal and Ashlyn were more than happy to relax and do nothing. I was…bored. Can’t lie. There were activities going on, but no one wanted to do them with me. In hindsight, I should have gone and done them on my own. In the future, I absolutely will. I also know now to bring a book. pooh:

Eventually, we headed up to deck 11 to lay out in lounge chairs. Once we’d had our fill of that, we explored the ship some more. Around 1PM, we picked Miles up from the kids club and went to Cabanas for lunch. We then decided to do the Mid Ship Detective Agency. This is an interactive mystery game that sends you all over the ship to collect clues and solve the mystery. It’s a cute game, especially at first. By the end of it, we were tired from trekking literally all over the ship, LOL! But we were all glad we’d tried it.

We then checked out the shops on the ship. I ended up getting a Donald Duck mug, and Miles got a pin. He collects Disney pins.

Before we knew it, it was time to get ready for the show and dinner. Tonight’s show was Frozen the Musical.

We got popcorn before heading in! popcorn::

1000000305.jpg

The show was really cute, though we still liked Aladdin best.

We went back to the room to change,, but it was here we realized Miles's new pin he'd just bought had come lose and fallen off his shirt.:sad::sad: Amazingly, I went to the shop and talked to the CM. She was super nice and called guest services. Well, guess what? Someone had turned it in!!!

I hurried to guest services and retrieved it. While we were there, I went ahead and checked in for our flight home the next day. This was a super helpful service that you can have done at guest services.

Then we went to dinner at Animator’s Palate. On this sailing, the interactive screens come to life with Crush from Finding Nemo. He interacts with the guests in the same way as Turtle Talk with Crush at Epcot. It was fun, but even though we were seated directly at a screen, we never got chosen to participate. That was actually perfectly fine with us, lol. :rotfl2:

My seasickness was doing better, though I’d again taken 2 doses of bonine. That was making me super tired at this point, but it wasn’t too bad.

Our meal was so perfect. We really enjoyed every meal, and our serving team was amazing.

Every night, our Main service Chil gave Miles a riddle. Ashlyn helped him solve them all, but on this night he gave us one that we just couldn’t figure out (until the next morning when it was too late, boo.)

Here’s the riddle:

What kind of ball can’t be thrown or dropped, but it can be rolled.

OK, do you know the answer?

Well, we tried everything we could think of, but we left the table stumped.

After dinner, we couldn't bare to go to bed, so we stopped for a few pictures with characters and in the atrium.

We went to bed that night pretty pooped (what else is new?). The next morning would be disembarkation, and we were feeling sad about it. We packed up our suitcases and put them in the hallway to be taken off the ship in the morning. We chose to do it this way because we wanted to hang out on the ship as long as possible in the morning (which admittedly isn’t long, but we had a super late flight, so we weren’t in a hurry.)

The next morning we took our time getting ready then headed down to deck 3. Where were we going? Animator’s Palate once again, this time for breakfast! This was our 3rd meal here during the cruise, and it was really fantastic. Next time we cruise, we plan to eat more meals at the table service restaurants and fewer at the buffet.

Our breakfast was so fantastic, and this coffee was a million steps above the “free” coffee station.

We tried one last time with our server to solve last night’s riddle, but we struck out. Then, I kid you not, as he walked away we figured it out. We waited and waited for him to return, but unfortunately he never did.:charac2::crutches:

Now it was time to say goodbye. Our cruise had ended, and we took the Disney Cruise Line bus back to Orlando and MCO. We waited in the airport for many hours, as I said we had a late flight, but the kids did so great, and it wasn’t terrible.

Our flight was delayed because the incoming flight had a medical emergency, but other than that our flight home was uneventful.

Overall, I do prefer WDW to a cruise, but I did enjoy the cruise and I have so many happy memories. :lovestruc

And now, for the big news!!!
Just this week, we booked our 2nd Disney Cruise!!! We’ll be going on the Disney Dream to Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay in January!!! We’re very excited about this. I’m trying to not think about it much, because I want to focus on our trip in just 3 weeks!

So, that’s all for now. Thank you to everyone who read along with me. I’ll leave you with the riddle and answer:

What kind of ball can’t be thrown or dropped, but it can be rolled.

The answer?
