Food delivery akv?

Hey all!
So I noticed that you can have food delivered from Disney- is that a decent deal if you aren't having a car while at WDW. Garden grocer needs a 40$ min and I'm not sure we need that much on this next trip. Anyone use the food delivery at AKV ? Do you just order on arrival or is there preordering available? Thanks!

There are Publix and Super Target on Hwy 192 about 3 miles from the AKV resort. You may be able to catch a cab over and pick-up what you are looking for cheaper than a delivery service.

There are two different services mention here on the Dis that others have used:
Garden Grocer
We-Go-Shop
I have never used either of them.

I have used WGS with some success. I was looking over GG site. Must you order from their "aisles" or can you do your own list? I like to specify certain brands.

We used the DVC grocery order form once in 2010. It's a little higher than some of the grocery services, but for small orders it probably is a wash with the delivery fees of the offsite vendors. The nice part is that the food is delivered to the villa. There is a printable form with the options and prices on the DVC member website that you can fill out and mail or fax to them. They need to receive it 3 days prior to your arrival. To find the order form, you have to go to Destinations > Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas (Kidani or Jambo). It is in the menu on the right side of the screen as you scroll down.

On our most recent trip, we used Garden Grocer, but we had an order that was over $200 for 8 nights.

I have used GC 3 times no problems just search through they have most of the popular brands

I'm not into name brands ie more expensive. I prefer store brand for some items. Do you know if you can you request store brands and/or another brand not listed?

When I was on the GG website, they had "Store brand" water available. So perhaps certain items you will be able to find store brand.! HTH.

I ordered from theme park shoppers for our arrival tomorrow. I request all great value brand and got a great deal. I will post a review of them when I get there tomorrow.

If you are thinking about having the Resort store deliver, you can save yourself the $10 fee by going to the resort store and do the shopping yourself.

I always use Garden Grocer for a small order (just started to put some stuff in my cart today in fact for a long weekend trip over MLK weekend) and it doesn't take long to hit the minimum order amount. I am up to $49 already but I know for a fact that it's worthwhile for us as it's cheaper than renting a car or shopping at the Disney store onsite and it doesn't eat up any of our valuable vacation time while we're there. The last time we shopped at the SSR Disney store we spent $42 and only got like 2 beers and 1 lg. bottle of water vs the 2 cases we're getting from GG. We could never eat 4 breakfasts onsite for less than that either.

So far on this order I have:

1 family size box of 24 frozen waffles
12 oz bottle of syrup
sm container of Country Crock
1 case of generic store brand bottled water
12-pack of beer
1 2-liter bottle of diet coke
1 3-pack of chocolate milk
10 oz can of coffee
1 sm bottle of coffee creamer

Disney charges $6+ for just ONE bottle of beer. So while $14 for a 12-pack is higher than what we pay at home it sure beats Disney's price.
