I am a complete newbie here....
Where do we eat!!!

I see the thread for photos of food... But I want a lot of good specific info and recommendations. So, lets have a thread where we talk food. Where should we go? What should we order?

I wanted to post an extensive poll, but I am not even familar with all the options. I don't know if the boards would support a poll with that many choices!

Here are a few basic questions...

FIRST: The Parks...

Are all the burgers and sandwiches about the same in the Parks? Or is there a best place to go!

Should we make plans for Finnigan's, instead of counter service? I am talking about for burger or entree other than the fish. (especially for my son who is not really a fish lover)

I have heard that Louie's Pizza is good.. is that true? should we try some italian there?

I definitely will try Mythos... It gets a lot of excellent reviews!

NEXT: CityWalk...

I am looking at Margaritaville and Latin Quarter. What about Bubba Gump's or Pat O'Brien's? I have heard too many so-so reviews of Emeril's... How is PastaMore'?

What about drinks (other than beer) :woohoo:

PS: I am glad to see that they have Zephr Hills spring water... Do they have Coke' or Pepsi' soda?

Mythos for sure~ excellent
Finnagins has great burgers, and beer ;)
Margaritaville is really good too, another great burger :thumbsup2
I am in love with the Cresent Moon in IOA, they have excellent cookies, sandwiches, and pastries. I especially love the white chocolate chip
macadamia nut cookies

We heard all the great reviews on Louie's for pizza too
I dont know, we tried it when we were there a week and a half ago, and we did not like it. It was very greasy. We are from the northeast, where we have great pizza, maybe I am spoiled.:confused3

Thanks!!!

I appreciate your excellent comments!

Oh, and I forgot about drinks
Not sure what you like but Pat O Briens (Citiwalk) has some really good ones
Hurricanes and one called a Sky lab :thumbsup2

and Jimmy Buffet's has some killer Margaritas of course ( I love raspberry)

Here are the CS restaurants I've been to at IOA. We don't usually eat in Universal Studios, so sorry I can't help with that.

Croissant Moon Bakery - Fantastic cookies! I like my cookies soft, and these were cooked perfectly!

Comic Strip Cafe - There are plenty of choices (Chinese, Italian, American, Mexican), but the food is really just so-so. I would skip and try something else.

Blondie's - They have pretty good made-to-order sandwiches. Though when we went the line was pretty slow-moving.

Thunder Falls Terrace - It's been a while, but this was my best CS meal ever. They had huge chicken wings and they were really yummy! I highly recommend.

The Burger Digs - Good burgers! I definitely recommend over Comic Strip Cafe if you are in the mood for a burger.

We've had Bubba Gumps in Citywalk and it was really yummy! I can't comment on the atmosphere inside because DH brought me take-out. Margaritaville had a very cool atmosphere, but the burgers were just OK. Nothing better than your local Chili's IMHO.

Hope that was a little help!

I would recommend:

IOA: Mythos, Comic Strip Cafe and Thunder Falls Terrace

Studios: Louie's and Finnegan's

CityWalk: Margaritaville

to the op:

are you going to catergorized per park and per resturant if we make our lists here?

i doubt i have missed any of the food places with the exception of soda carts.

Finnegans and Mythos, definitely! We ate alot of meals there. We also liked Louies and Richter's Burger Company. My kids and I the also loved Circus McGurkus Cafe Stoo-Pendous, they loved it when the train came through and the fun decor of the place.

Oh and here's a tip, never send your husband up to order a "burger" for your daughter at the Burger Digs, without explaining to him first what a "Garden Burger" is, it is not a "burger" and children not used to veggie burgers will not be fooled. :rotfl:

I'm going to do it a little differently. These are my favourites and best buys.

Breakfast: Breakfast croissant at Boulangerie in Universal Studios.

Lunch: Volcano nachos at Margaritaville

Dinner: Mythos at Islands of Adventure

Thanks again everyone...

No biggie... I had kind of listed the parks and then CitiWalk separately... But any and all info is good!

Too funny!!!!

Believe me, it took a LONG time to get my husband 'trained' for things like that!! But, now I can ususally trust him to come back with what we want. :thumbsup2

I see that I must have missed another thread recently started about food!!!

Sorry for having two going!!!

But, of course, food is MOST important!!!

NASCAR Grille was really good! We didnt expect it to be, but the food and the people are super... even if your not a fan.:thumbsup2

We werent impressed with Hard Rock. The food was okay, but nothing special. Anyone else not impressed with Hard Rock? the atmosphere is cool, but its exspensive.

I agree, their food is not good :sad2:

I agree Hard Rock is not good. The service was very bad.
NBA City is pretty good. The food is good and the wait is usually the shortest of any we go to on City Walk.
We really like Margaritavile.
Not too happy with Budda's.
Really did not like Pastamora.

Don't eat sit down meals in the parks.

Mythos-- Yummy, but My son,10 did not like it. He liked the enchanted oak(i believe that's what it is called).

We also enjoyed Louie's pizza!

I would do Mythco.. Stay away from the places that offer Meal Deal we went to all of them and only ones we liked were burger digs for the toppings bar and Cirkus McGurkis we liked their pizza..I hear good things about Thunder Terrace and Crecent Moon..Now we didnot like the Jimmy Buffet place at all so so food for lots of $$ we tried Latin Quarter and food was served to us cold it was nasty and we had been given the meal by guest services for bad service in the parks! I was so dissapointed in my whole trip to US
