Food and Wine? Sounds Divine! An October TR - 12/2 A PTR Link!

Hey! You are not dissin' my little Sony cybershot right in front of me are you? :lmao:
Hey, all I'm sayin' is that she didn't have to circle Goofy. :rolleyes1

We recorded every single episode. All 552. This was all DH's idea and he wanted it badly so we ended up erasing everything on the DVR to make room for this. Currently, we have only 263 episodes remaining. Anyone else here been participating in this extravaganza?!
:worship: I'm in awe of your effort and dedication. :thumbsup2

Celebrity sighting! Well, athlete sighting. Same difference for DH.
No, they're a tier above the celebrities. :thumbsup2

So I tried the next best thing. I tried to angle my camera toward him while strapped on my shoulder and got this
Um.... yeah, that's him. :rolleyes1 :crazy2:

I ‘pretended' to take a picture of DH and me . But instead got this perfect shot
:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

I haven’t seen this show in a few years but it’s always FANTASTIC every time I see it. It’s definitely a must! The Genie is definitely the best part of the show. So funny and trendy.
We will definitely have to check this one out. It looks like an awesome show.

We were told to check the wall every once and a while and that we may catch a glimpse of Walt. It’s creepy, but cool at the same time! You see his shadow here, I barely caught it
Wow... creepy is right. But kind of a cool way to keep his presence alive in the park. And I really liked the personalized chairs. Great picture! :thumbsup2

Alison had recommended the Carthay Manhattan to DH…huge mistake. He loved it!
So how is that a huge mistake? Sounds like a winner to me! :rolleyes1

I can't remember all the conversations we had but this was probably the highlight of the entire day for DH and I. While the tour and getting on rides was fun, it was so nice to have some amazing drinks with an awesome friend and just talk for hours :goodvibes
Looks like a great way to end an incredible day. :thumbsup2

ALL of them?? :faint:

I will admit that I recorded several of my favorites. It's been years since I've seen them!

Celebrity sighting!

DH had spotted one of the San Francisco Giants old players, Juan Uribe (who now currently plays for the Dodgers:crazy2:) and was pretty star struck. He was explaining how much this guy had helped the Giants win the 2010 World Series and still liked him and respected him, even though he was a Dodger now.

:headache:

Being a Phillies fan, I watched a really great Phils team lose to the Giants in the NLCS in 2010...thanks for ripping off that scab!:rotfl:

See that girl wearing the skinny jeans and sandals? His jean pant leg is behind her :lmao:

Surrrre it is.:thumbsup2

This ride is SO cute, I love it! They did an amazing job with this attraction

::yes::

Whoa! That's kinda cool.

The process of making this drink is impressive and I’ll leave this part to Alison as she knows way more about it than I do. But I do know that the ice sphere can keep a drink cold up to 3 hours without watering down the drink! So cool.

The ice sphere is way cool!

He gets extremely happy and giggly and was even more happy when Alison and him decided to go with a third round, but I think Alison had switched at this point to white wine. We had to have been there for at least 2 hours if not more.

Careful. That kind of over-indulgence can lead you to illegally park your car in the hotel driveway.

ok, I've fallen way behind (though with, what I think is, good reason ;) )

so just some comments as I read trough updates:

- Great that you were able to meet up with Alison and spend time with here - and super bonus for free tour!

- I think your HM dinner scene picture is pretty good ... notice that it looks like they don't have the "hidden Mickey" with the plates like they do in the WDW version

- Your food at the French Market all looks good (though not sure if what your DH got really qualifies as a "po'boy"

- And that "show" you got at the end of of your tour ... based on the look on DH's face in the next picture it truly was the happiest place on earth that day ;)

- Excellent job getting best in car at TSMM! Though, obviously something must be wrong with DH's gun, I mean, there must be some explanation ;)

- That lounge looks really cool and I love the director chairs with Walt and Roy and their wives' names on them - and Walt's creepy shadow of course

- Ah, alcohol: It maketh glad the hearts of men ... and maketh women (and your husband) giggle

Yes, you would not make a good papparazzo ;):rotfl:

So cool you got to wine and dine at Club 1901! I think I remember reading that's a harder ticket than Club 33 -- I think because the (super top level) member needs to be present with the guest unlike Club 33. :) Luckily those yummy drinks and super cool ice spheres are available in the Carthay Lounge :thumbsup2

Great updates, especially the drinks! ;)

Just want to let you know...we aren't going to California next summer. My mom is really nervous about flying still, and she said she can't handle it. And all of us want to vacation together, so the 11 of us will be taking a cruise out of NYC to Bermuda in July. Sorry I don't get to see the west coast yet, but it will be there when we're ready.

Hi! I believe I got this from Amazon, but i've seen them at both Target and Walmart in the stores. They are great! They stick to the table really good and provide a little entertainment for DS too. The only thing I was having issues in the beginning was DS was having a hard time trying to find the food, because of all the activity that was going on in the placemat, the small bits of food would just blend in, making it difficult to see. But I highly recommend them![/QUOTE]

thanks we were able to order on amazon

What fun what fun!!! I'd have tried not to be obvious with that celebrity too, bummer you didn't snag a photo. But that one of you on RSR is really cute.

That Genie is a riot! Really enjoyed that show.

Love that you spent time relaxing and chatting in the club. Perfect way to end a fabulous day.

Aren't you so glad you go to see that show?! So much fun.

I agree, we couldn't have ended on a better note. Well, maybe for DH to run into Juan Uribe when exiting the park :lmao:

YAY for another update. And what a fun one at that. Absolutely amazing lounge. Looks like you're enjoying the day. How cool to spot an idol. I would have really tried and failed to unobtrusively take a picture. We rarely get to celebrity spot here. But I don't want to intrude either. What a conundrum!

Yep, I don't want to be that person trying to take photos obsessively. Although i'm DH wanted to!:lmao:

I'm not sure how much extra my pictures will add to your TR. The ones you got inside the ride were great! I really need to bring my DSLR out to the park on my next trip and see what I can do. Here's my version of our red neck photo.

I don't have any pictures from ToT, in fact I totally forgot that we rode it. But I do have some pictures from Aladdin.

Jafar and Iago scheming

Street Rat of Agraba

Princess Jasmine

So after Aladdin, we went over to the lounge for some more drinks. Since I’m tasked with explaining how the ice sphere machine works, I’ll do my best. There is no heating element in the ice sphere maker, it is just inertia and the heat generated from the metal. I believe that once she made my ice sphere she had one in the waiting to make DH’s drink as she said it would take 20 minutes to half an hour to warm back up to make another one.

Here’s my picture of your Bloody Mary.

Here is my Ice sphere.

And then both of our drinks. For the record, DH’s first words after taking a sip was, “That’s strong!” By the time that he was halfway through the drink, he was quite pleased with his drink. By the time he was on the third drink he was loving the fact that even though his ice sphere was reduced in size the new drink always was full to the top of his glass.

Though I do have to say that these are recycled pictures, here is the Queso Fundido.

We had a great time talking, our guide stayed with us for a while and we had some good laughs talking about the wardrobe incident, and we talked for a while about many things. Eventually after finishing our drinks and food we headed out of the park and Alicia’s DH was really happy about moving the car from Valet to the regular parking. We hugged and that was the end of the evening for my day with them. It was a lot of fun and I hope that we can do it again sometime!

....aaaand now you've gone and embarrassed me with those great Aladdin pictures:lmao:

You're right! Those were his first words :rotfl:

Oh and we forgot to add that the valet CM gave you and I signed photos. I can't find that picture though. Was it of Winnie the Pooh and other characters?

Hey, all I'm sayin' is that she didn't have to circle Goofy. :rolleyes1

:rotfl2:

:worship: I'm in awe of your effort and dedication. :thumbsup2

Anything to make DH happy!

No, they're a tier above the celebrities. :thumbsup2

Totally agree!...unless it was Johnny Depp.

Um.... yeah, that's him. :rolleyes1 :crazy2:

:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

:rotfl2: You guys will never really know if it was him. Someone had to take a picture of him that day. Off to find it and when I do find it and he's wearing those same pants, you owe me an apology!

We will definitely have to check this one out. It looks like an awesome show.

If you think your kids will be able to sit through a 40 minute show, do it! It's so spectacular.

ALL of them?? :faint:

I will admit that I recorded several of my favorites. It's been years since I've seen them!

There were several that DH didn't remember so he's been really happy to fall upon 'new' shows.

Being a Phillies fan, I watched a really great Phils team lose to the Giants in the NLCS in 2010...thanks for ripping off that scab!:rotfl:

::yes::

Looks like you guys are out this year. Oh well there's always next season. Not that i'm trying to rub it in or anything ;)

We didn't get the chance to see this, but I've heard nothing but great things!

Aw your kids probably would have really enjoyed it! Hopefully you guys will be able to return someday.

Careful. That kind of over-indulgence can lead you to illegally park your car in the hotel driveway.

:rotfl2:

ok, I've fallen way behind (though with, what I think is, good reason ;) )

Absolutely!

- I think your HM dinner scene picture is pretty good ... notice that it looks like they don't have the "hidden Mickey" with the plates like they do in the WDW version

I never noticed it before! Will have to keep a lookout for it in January.

- And that "show" you got at the end of of your tour ... based on the look on DH's face in the next picture it truly was the happiest place on earth that day ;)

:lmao: It definitely was for him!

- Excellent job getting best in car at TSMM! Though, obviously something must be wrong with DH's gun, I mean, there must be some explanation ;)

There's gotta be a reason that every time we do TSMM, his gun never works. Must write a complaint to CS.

- That lounge looks really cool and I love the director chairs with Walt and Roy and their wives' names on them - and Walt's creepy shadow of course

It was definitely creepy, but I get the idea.

- Ah, alcohol: It maketh glad the hearts of men ... and maketh women (and your husband) giggle

HAHAHA!!:lmao:

Yes, you would not make a good papparazzo ;):rotfl:

Nope not at all!

Yep I think it's pretty much the exact same menu over at Carthay Lounge.

Great updates, especially the drinks! ;)

And all of us want to vacation together, so the 11 of us will be taking a cruise out of NYC to Bermuda in July. Sorry I don't get to see the west coast yet, but it will be there when we're ready.

Oh no that's too bad :( And i'm not moving anywhere and neither is Alison so we'll always be here when you can come out!

thanks we were able to order on amazon

Wonderful hope they work for you!

This is MY Sony Cybershot that had such a great zoom lens! :rotfl2: :lmao:

:lmao::rotfl2: I TOTALLY forgot about the rubberband around it! What the heck. What's wrong with my camera? Cus I know for sure it's not me :rolleyes1
:lmao:

Wanted to share what I did this past weekend.

Yardhouse

Annnnnnnnd

:hyper:

My friend won 2 tickets through Ticketmaster and she's never heard of them so she gifted them to me. They were lawn seats but hey I can't complain, it was free!

There's the stage waaaaay down there

I may or may not have got a contact high from all the activities going on around up here

If you're not a friend with me on Instagram or FB, you probably should be so you can get cool updates like this one. DH's newest school id photo.

Will post an update in a bit!

Replying from my phone. Bummed that I missed your update and now I'm reading from my phone. Boo!

That ice sphere is too cool. I totally want one of those drinks.

I can't wait to come back and see your pics.

Wow. You need some paparazzi training. Lol. Good try though.

Hahhaha, last summer I went to see Maroon 5 at Shoreline Amphitheater which has a similar setup -- we had lawn seats, and I actually started to feel ill from the serious smoke clouds. It was crazy strong!!!!!!!

You've got to make your way out here one day! You're already going past us in November. Too bad you couldn't extend that Hawaii trip to Hawaii/CA trip!
I know, we really want to get out there. There is a chance of our May Land & Sea changing to DLR, but that is dependent upon Dug changing jobs and attending a conference in L.A., etc.

I wish we could stay longer than the 1.25 hours each layover at LAX to go to DL! Not happening this trip, though. :sad2:

Nice little update! Looks like you had quite a fun weekend! :thumbsup2

What does your DH teach? Nice photos! :lmao:

- I think your HM dinner scene picture is pretty good ... notice that it looks like they don't have the "hidden Mickey" with the plates like they do in the WDW version
of course

We do have the hidden Mickey on the table. It's in the same place as the one in WDW, at least I think it os. If you look closely at the photo, it is the second place setting away from the ghost blowing out the candles on the side closest to the ride vehicles.

Managed to get to a computer on see your pics!

The Cars ride is amazing. Love your selfie.

The pics of you guys in Walt & Lillian's seats is to cute.

But my favorite pics are the drinks. :rotfl2: Just kidding. I'm not that much of a lush. :rolleyes1

How fun to have a private tour and catch up with friends. :thumbsup2

This is MY Sony Cybershot that had such a great zoom lens! :rotfl2: :lmao:
Oh.... :rolleyes1

If you think your kids will be able to sit through a 40 minute show, do it! It's so spectacular.
Well, we're going to make them sit through Candlelight Processional in December, so surely we can get them to sit through 40 minutes of a show that is more visually compelling to them like this... :confused3

:lmao::rotfl2: I TOTALLY forgot about the rubberband around it! What the heck. What's wrong with my camera? Cus I know for sure it's not me :rolleyes1
:lmao:
It's the rubber band. Try putting one on yours. :thumbsup2

My friend won 2 tickets through Ticketmaster and she's never heard of them so she gifted them to me. They were lawn seats but hey I can't complain, it was free!
Free concert... that's my price range. :thumbsup2

I may or may not have got a contact high from all the activities going on around up here
:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl: Hope you don't have to pass a drug test soon. :rolleyes1

If you're not a friend with me on Instagram or FB, you probably should be so you can get cool updates like this one. DH's newest school id photo.
:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl: Is this for real????

well, you know I am a fan of the Yardhouse ... though your beers were way too small ;)

And so cool about the free Dave Matthews tickets! I haven't seen them since the latest album came out but is probably the band I have seen the most over the years

Yeah, a contact high officer ... it must have been a contact high ;)
