Food and Wine? Sounds Divine! An October TR - 12/2 A PTR Link!

OK Brazil, I was going to say that. :rotfl2:

Such cute pictures of DS!

All the food pics look so yummy. I was terrible at taking food pics. I kept my passport updated, but I did not take enough pics.

I'm glad I read this update this morning. If it was closer to lunch time I'd be miserable. :rotfl2:

We started off slowly and only bought one item here. Have to pace yourself right?
Yeah. Sure. Of course. :rolleyes1

And all we really felt like was water at the time. Dont worry though, we do get some fun drinks later!
Good call. Hydrate and have a few snacks first. Don't want to drink on an empty stomach anyway. :thumbsup2

During this trip, DS had a huge thing with noses on characters or our faces, he just loved to touch them
He must have thoroughly enjoyed that troll then!

DH took a look at my plate and said, Its really good. Uh, how would you know? Not only did he go to the restroom, but he made a stop at the booth without sharing! HOW DOES ONE EVEN DO THAT?!
:rotfl::rotfl2::lmao: It's a guy thing. We can pee and down a plate of food quicker than you can blink.

YAY for Alison guessing right. Brazil is going to be the flavour of the next couple of years!

I love that Empanada from Argentina. Didn't get round to getting it this trip. Oh well.

Those noodles from China were YUM!

Rain, huh? We got caught in that rain too. Only at the "other side" of Orlando. :worried:

I think the noodles were one of my favorites from the F&W. The other favorites come later :thumbsup2

Well, I don't know what your first F&W booth was, but I hit up Mexico for a sangria as my first. Shocking that my first would be alcohol, I know. :rotfl:

So TT got closed because a rider got hurt on the ride? :confused3 Bummer. And bummer to that little boy who cried his eyes out.

Love the F&W merch, but sorry your mug did not hold up in the dishwasher. I hate when that happens.

Happy NY. Glad your back and posting!

:lmao: An alcoholic beverage to start the F&W festival sounds about right for you ;):lmao:

I have quite a few Disney mugs and they all do great in the dishwasher so I was a little surprised that it came out looking like that, especially after the first wash.

I knew I had a food porn duty to fulfill, and so far, i'm doing a good job!:cool1:

Lol I can't believe your dh sneaked off and got some food by himself! So funny!

I was actually shocked that he did that! He hid it really good.:goodvibes

I'm glad I read this update this morning. If it was closer to lunch time I'd be miserable. :rotfl2:

You're telling me. I'm writing the next part of my update and i'm hungry...1.5 more hours until lunch time:headache:

:rotfl::rotfl2::lmao: It's a guy thing. We can pee and down a plate of food quicker than you can blink.

Ain't this the truth!:lmao::rotfl2:

Yay! I win! Do I get a Prize?

We didn't get to China this time, those noodles sound really good. I can't believe your DH snuck off and got a plate and snarfed it down before coming back to get you!

At least you were on a ride when the deluge came down instead of rushing back to your hotel! :thumbsup2

As long as DS wasn't picking any of the noses, I suppose that OK for him to be infatuated with them. :rotfl2:

Yes! You won the Seinfeld Gif! Didn't you see it?! :rotfl::dancer:

So selfish of him. He's lucky I forgive very quick!

Actually, not too much longer after this, it came down even harder, we had to find cover quick.

As long as DS wasn't picking any of the noses, I suppose that OK for him to be infatuated with them. :rotfl2:

Ick, so true!:rotfl2:

Brazil is a good place to start - the pork belly was one of our favorites! Well, mine at least, my DW doesn't eat pork .... so more belly goodness for me!

Can't believe you DH got something and didn't even mention it - especially if it was something that you would have liked. If he had to get something he should have got something he knew you didn't want at least.

Mmm those F&W pictures look good! The Brazil and China dishes especially looked delicious :goodvibes so funny that your DH sneaked in an extra booth stop :rotfl:

Emma princess: x

True! The only problem with that is, I like EVERYTHING!!:rotfl2:

I know, he's a crazy man! :rotfl:

Oh, those noodles are making me hungry right now. They look so good!

And I did notice that you didn't get a drink right away :rotfl:

Oh those food and wine pics are killing me! They all look so good.

And congratulations to your brother in SIL on their pregnancy!

Just got caught up on the last couple updates.

Didn't you know the walls of Disney are one of the most magical things when you're a baby/toddler? :rotfl: DD was so fascinated by a wall at the princess meet & greet that Snow White had to come over and admire it with her. Silly kiddos!

That's kinda scary about the paramedics and Test Track closure. Hope everything worked out okay. Bummer for the kid and his parents, though.

Your report is making me really, really miss Food & Wine. We did 2010 and 2011 and I don't know when we'll be back for it. But now I really want to! Mmmmm.

F&W, yum, could just eat some of those offerings right now!

Great update even if I am now really hungry. :)

I'm so missing F&W too. I really want to go back this year, but I was hoping it wouldn't be as hot as it was. If we were able to go later in October that would be great.

F&W, yum, could just eat some of those offerings right now!

Great update even if I am now really hungry. :)

The worst part about updating is seeing my food pics when i'm starving and knowing I'm not going to be eating comparable for lunch:lmao:

I'm FINALLY going to be going to Las Vegas at the end of March for my 30th birthday! :cool1: It's actually going to be DH's first time too, so we're very excited to be going..however, there is so much to research. Tons of restaurants, tons of shows and lots of hotel options.

For those who have been (or those who live there, happenin2you ;)), please give me tips and/or suggestions of what to do and most importantly, where to eat please. popcorn::

I've been to Vegas twice and stayed at the Luxor the first time and then the Bellagio. Both have really great buffets for both breakfast and dinner. For something fancy I recommended Lutece at the Venetian, it was fantastic :)

SOOOO many dining options it's obnoxious. LOL! where are you staying?

I had read that post from my phone, so I didn't quite get what it was. I went back and looked from my computer, and I saw it!

1) Determine your objective. There is sooooo much to do in Vegas, figure out what's important to you. Gambling, Dining, shows, natural beauty, shopping...

2) Let that help you determine where you want to stay. I think you two would probably like to stay on the strip in the middle of the action. It just depends on your budget and what you want to do. Gambling on the strip is expensive, but there are a lot of great restaurants and shows there. You might want to pick a hotel that has a show or restaurant you want to enjoy.

3) What sort of dining experiences do you want? There is everything from fine dining to Triple D restaurants. There are plenty of restaurants from Celebrity Chefs, I would recommend that you go to places only in Las Vegas.

Here are some of the places I've been lately that I liked:

My favorite fine dining restaurant is Andre's at the Monte Carlo. He was the first Chef in Las Vegas to start the fine dining craze back in the 1970s.
Todd English's P.U.B. was a great casual eatery.
The Hofbrau House has great authentic German food and beer
The Harley Davidson cafe has great comfort food.
I've eaten at a couple of Emeril's restaurants, the Patina group place at the Venetian. Several of the high end places at Bellagio and a couple places downtown as well.
There's a few others, but the names fail me now.

4) We like to stay at Sam's Town because it's off the beaten path, the table minimums for black jack are low and the restaurants are decent. We can also get a room for less than $30 per night. But that's just us.

In the end, only you can come up with what you guys want to do, but feel free to run it past us and we can give you our opinions. I've been to Vegas tons of times, very fun city!

We had looked at the Bellagio, but right now the price per night is a little expensive unless it comes down. That's where i've always wanted to stay because of the fountains. Thanks for your recommendation of Lutece. Writing that down:)

I know! That's why I came here looking for help! We have no idea:eek: Definitely somewhere in the middle of the strip. I should probably look at a map to see what's in the middle...:teacher:

I was hoping you would chime in :) especially regarding the dining. I really wanted to try at least one of the Triple D restaurants that you had mentioned a while back on one of your TR's. Definitely going to do one nice dinner. When I checked out lasvegas .com, there were so many Cirque shows, I have no idea which one's good! And then there's magic shows, like Criss Angel would be fun. I'm a little overwhelmed. Would like to see the Bellagio fountains. Is that something that we actually have to plan to see, or can we just walk up at night and watch it?

What do you think of the Paris hotel? I thought it may be fun to stay there, since it's the closest thing to the real Paris i'll be able to get to!

Thank you for your recommendations. I have a Word Document that i'm copying all this stuff down so DH can look at it too.
