Food and Wine? Sounds Divine! An October TR - 12/2 A PTR Link!

That is awesome news!! Congrats to them!! Definitely a great Christmas present.

Wow that is wonderful news! We had some challenges conceiving our first but I can't imaging trying for year and years like that. Best if luck to them and definitely an amazing early Christmas present!

Wow, awesome news!!! My SIL struggled with fertility issues so I know exactly what you're talking about.:goodvibes

Merry Christmas (late!!) and Happy New Year to everyone!

It's been hectic, as i'm sure it's been for you all around this time of year, but am finally getting back on to my normal schedule :cool1: I have so much catching up to do on everyones TR's, but want to post an update since it's been so long.

Let's go!

***I left us off leaving the front of Epcot in search of something fun to do...something fun like Test Track!***

After our Photopass pictures, we made our way towards TT and saw this

Seriously?! A line for Spaceship Earth?! Craziness has officially occurred.

And then we found the Official map of Food & Wine, so DH needed to sit and peruse it before taking another step.

This picture reminds me of a picture I took of DH during our first trip in 2008. You’ll never see us looking at a Disney guide map like this again!

We made it to Test Track and got the Rider Swap card for me and I headed to the gift shop. Look! No waiting for Stand-by!

Sike! It’s 80 minutes at 10:18am. Yikes.

DS and I headed here to sit down and wait for DM and DH to get off

I took DS out of his stroller and gave him a snack but he was way more interested in the carpeted wall

He also enjoyed checking out the big screen

It took about 15 minutes until I saw them coming out. Then it was my turn to ride! DM volunteered to watch DS while DH rode with me.

I had already been on the new TT back in December and thought it was fine. I actually like the old TT better. But it is fun to design your own vehicle.

While waiting here, we saw some paramedics come through with a stretcher. Hope whoever they were getting to was going to be okay!

Into the Design room we went and I have to admit, our Coupe-Truck was pretty stupid, but sick at the same time!

Too bad we didn’t get to see how it handled against others. It was here we were told to turn around and exit and we’d be given FP’s to use anytime that day. I’m pretty sure it had to do with the hurt guest.

As we were exiting, the child that was in front of us, who was now behind us, had a HUGE fit. He just didn’t understand why we had to leave and he wanted to go on now. I turned around and said look, we’re getting special tickets to come back later! The dad was like, “See! Tickets to come back and ride later!” He started crying harder at this point. Maybe I shouldn’t have tried to help :rotfl:

Welp, as Walt Disney said, “Keep moving forward.” So we did and here’s where we ended up

I’d never been in this building before and thought it was cool. Can anyone tell me what was here before? The Festival Center was pretty empty, which was great for us, since we had DS in the stroller.

There were lots of cool pictures on display to purchase

Lots of fun F&W items

These were pretty cool

Was this how I would be feeling later?!

Where they hold the demonstrations, I believe

After looking around, we started buying things. But first the most important thing must be purchased…$100 to start, please!

I also bought 2 of these, one for me and one for DM

Too bad it now looks like this

I left California wanting to go to the 2013 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, but I came back visiting the 013 Cot intern tion l Food & Wine Festival :lmao:

DM bought a few things from here, can’t remember but I know they’re Christmas presents, so I’ll be surprised Christmas morning I guess! And since I wrote this before Christmas (wow I’m so behind!) here’s what he got for me

Because we all know, “Real Women Drink Beer” :thumbsup2

By the time we left the Festival Center, it was getting close to 12, which meant lunch time! And it also meant our official start to the F&W Festival!

Yes it was warm outside, so we made a run through here on our way to the World Showcase

How many booths do you guys think we made it too? Hmm, hopefully I didn’t already say it somewhere, but there are 30 booths. I’ll disclose the number at the end. We also did a lot of sharing, so DM would purchase one item and I’d purchase one or two and we’d share them all. Even if I bought something at a booth, and DM did not purchase anything but would still taste it, she’d get a stamp in her passport and vice versa. Speaking of passports., here it is!

I spy a booth!

But we skipped that one and this one for now

Those clouds don't look fun

So what’s our first official Food and Wine Festival Booth?!

:hyper:

I've been to WDW in July. There are queues for Spaceship Earth in July. :rotfl:
Sorry you had to miss your ride at TT; but I hope that the guest was okay.

That's great merchandise in the Festival Centre.

I'm going to guess that you headed towards the Ireland or Canada booth.

Welcome back to updating and Happy New Year!! :goodvibes

That's too bad about TT... at least you were able to design your car. Those people who had waited 80 minutes and had to leave should have had the meltdown with that kid. I think it was nice of you to try and make the kid understand the fee pass is a good thing. You tried. :thumbsup2

Oh man I spied Van Gogh drink coasters in the F&W building. That reminds me that I need to buy some since the Christmas ones that I've been using for the last 12 months probably should be packed away for now.

Bummer about your mug. At least you can still tell that it is from Food & Wine. ;)

Wild guess here but I think you made it to 29 booths. Or did you mean that day? In that case you'd better whack off about 20 from that number!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Hmm....out of 30 boooths...I'm gonna say you got to 25 over the course of the trip. Can't wait to find out and see everything you tried! I'll be drooling all over my keyboard I'm sure. The passports are such a cute way to keep track (and for Disney to motivate people to hit more booths and spend more $ :rotfl2:)

The welcome center is in the old Wonders of Life pavilion. One of my earliest Disney memories is the Body Wars ride which scared the crap out of me.

That really stinks about the mug. Are they stickers that came off?

And then we found the Official map of Food & Wine, so DH needed to sit and peruse it before taking another step.
So there's already a line for SSE and you're going to waste valuable time to stop to look at a map???? :faint:

I took DS out of his stroller and gave him a snack but he was way more interested in the carpeted wall
Whatever entertains him.

I had already been on the new TT back in December and thought it was fine. I actually like the old TT better. But it is fun to design your own vehicle.
I have to agree. I love the design part and the new queue though.

Into the Design room we went and I have to admit, our Coupe-Truck was pretty stupid, but sick at the same time!
:rotfl2::lmao:

I’d never been in this building before and thought it was cool. Can anyone tell me what was here before?
It's already been said, but it is indeed, the Wonders of Life Pavilion. Home to Body Wars and the always awkward to watch with your parents, The Making of Me.

Was this how I would be feeling later?!
Well, if you do it right, it is! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2::rotfl:

How many booths do you guys think we made it too? Hmm, hopefully I didn’t already say it somewhere, but there are 30 booths.
22 :confused3

Happy New Year!!!!

I think you made it to all 30 if you shared. Bummer about TT, I still haven't made it to the new one. Oh my about that kid's melt down, that was too early to blame exhaustion as the culprit...

Uh-oh! Is this Monday? If so, I know what hapoens next. I'm surprised we didn't run into you. We were right there at the same time. My guess is Brazil, Argentina or Australia.

Really?! I can't believe there are lines for SE.

Our first booth coming up!

Welcome back to updating and Happy New Year!! :goodvibes

Happy New Year Brenda!:goodvibes

I hinted at those coasters to DH, but don't think he got the memo. Can't be too subtle with men these days.

:lmao: I should have said for our entire trip. I couldn't imagine hitting that many in one day, but i'm sure there are some folks out there that have!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Happy New Year Heather! :goodvibes

I'm actually shocked that Disney isn't selling these passports. They are really cute and so handy!

I've heard of Body Wars, but not sure what it's all about. Gonna have to Youtube it!

So there's already a line for SSE and you're going to waste valuable time to stop to look at a map???? :faint:

Now that you break it down like that.. :lmao:

It's already been said, but it is indeed, the Wonders of Life Pavilion. Home to Body Wars and the always awkward to watch with your parents, The Making of Me.

I'm DEFINITELY going to YouTube that one! :rotfl:

Well, if you do it right, it is! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2::rotfl:

:rotfl: I think I may have did it right then!

Happy New Year!!!!

Happy New Year Pam!

I'm sure you'll have many opportunities to check TT out since you now own at VGF! Which i'm still so excited that you own there!

Uh-oh! Is this Monday? If so, I know what hapoens next. I'm surprised we didn't run into you. We were right there at the same time. My guess is Brazil, Argentina or Australia.

Yep it's Monday, and i'm pretty sure you know what happens next! :lmao:

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to you!

So what was our first official booth? If you guessed Brazil, you win! I think only Alison won so yay for Alison!

IMG_6232.jpg

We started off slowly and only bought one item here. Have to pace yourself right? We ordered the Crispy Pork Belly with Black Beans, Onions, Avocado and Cilantro

Very delicious and the pork was juicy.

Our first stamp

DM skipped ahead to Argentina

And purchased the Grilled Beef Skewer with Chimichurri Sauce and Boniato Puree

It wasnt as moist as I was hoping, but the sauce definitely helped it. And so did the puree. DH went and purchased the Beef Empanada while we were munching on the Skewer

It looks a little boring and plain, but the filling was very tasty! Is anyone else surprised that a drink has not been had yet?! Totally unlike me. But heres the thing, it was hot and sticky. And all we really felt like was water at the time. Dont worry though, we do get some fun drinks later!

We had a FP+ reservation for Maelstrom between 11:40-12:40 and I didnt want to miss that. Because you know, the ride is super fun and all. BUT, it just started to sprinkle and figured that sprinkle would turn into a pour in no time so another good reason to ride Maelstrom. While on the ride, you can look outside and sure enough, it was pouring!

We hung out for a little bit in the shop after the ride. I wanted to get a picture of the troll. NO not that troll

This troll!

During this trip, DS had a huge thing with noses on characters or our faces, he just loved to touch them

We wandered through the various shops and got stuck here for about 5 minutes with tons of other people trying to hide from the rain. I was bored just standing there, so I took a random shot

While we were in the store, DH said he was going to look for a bathroom and come back. Close to 10 minutes go by and he finally comes back. I asked if he was okay and he said yeah and said the rain let up just enough to go to our next destination.

On our way to China, it started to come down really hard again! We hightailed it into the nearest store in China and waited. But I was starving! Being the brave one, I would venture out and make a food run. Aside from coming back with a hairful of water, this is what I came back with from the China booth

(these next two pictures were taken after the rain)

Black Pepper Shrimp with Sichuan noodles and a Kung Fu Punch with Vodka and Triple sec. DH took a look at my plate and said, Its really good. Uh, how would you know? Not only did he go to the restroom, but he made a stop at the booth without sharing! HOW DOES ONE EVEN DO THAT?!....But he was right. It was DELICIOUS! I gave a few noodles for DS as a snack and he enjoyed it too. The drink was absolutely amazing. DM really loved the drink, but didnt touch the dish. Shes not a fan of seafood.

YAY for Alison guessing right. Brazil is going to be the flavour of the next couple of years!

I love that Empanada from Argentina. Didn't get round to getting it this trip. Oh well.

Those noodles from China were YUM!

Rain, huh? We got caught in that rain too. Only at the "other side" of Orlando. :worried:

Well, I don't know what your first F&W booth was, but I hit up Mexico for a sangria as my first. Shocking that my first would be alcohol, I know. :rotfl:

So TT got closed because a rider got hurt on the ride? :confused3 Bummer. And bummer to that little boy who cried his eyes out.

Love the F&W merch, but sorry your mug did not hold up in the dishwasher. I hate when that happens.

Happy NY. Glad your back and posting!
