Food and Wine Festival

HI Folks,
I am new to DVC and am wondering if anyone has already booked either BCV or BWV for the Food and Wine Festival. Am I naive to hope to get a 2 Bedroom in October?

I just booked a one bedroom BWV for 10/7 to 10/15 with no problems.
I sometimes think there is too much on the drama (and negative) than the positive.

Obviously nothing is impossible, but the F&W Fest is a big draw, and of course everyone wants to be at BW or BC because you an walk in & out of Epcot. Give it a shot...you have nothing to lose.

We plan to do Food and Wine next year (2006). We plan to try a standard view 1 bdr at BWV in Oct to see if it's worth saving the points! BWV is our home resort so I don't think I'd have trouble getting it if I book at 11 mos. What is your home resort? I'd book that at 11 mos (so you definatly have a trip booked) and then at 7 mos call exactly the first day you can to change to either BWV or BCV. Good Luck!

I plan on trying going for this event next year also. I've always wanted to and now with DVC, I can!
I will book my home resort at 11 month window, if I can switch it at 7 months, cool, but if not, I have no problem going 'home'.

We have already booked a 1 bed standard & a studio standard right at the 11 month booking window. The number of standard rooms are very limited and go very fast but it is possible

We recently booked a 2 bedroom for the first week in October at BCV with no problem at all...

We just booked a bedroom for a week in October, at the BWV. It will be the first time we are doing the food and wine festival ourselves.
We also will be going to Busch Gardens for the first time. They are offering free entrance, for military families, needless to say we are so excited!

We booked a 2 bdrm and a 1 bdrm Boardwalk view, right at the 11 month window (Family party!). You are just now in the 7 month window so I think it should still be doable, particularly if you are shooting for early October. The F&W only extended to all of October last year so it still may be "off the radar" for some people that it starts at the beginning of October. Will get tougher as you get closer. I remember last year lots of people complaining they couldn't get in as we got up to the 4 months and counting down point.

We booked a BW view 2BR over Columbus Day weekend right at the 11 month window (from BWV actually). Then DW decided we should stay an extra night so I waitlisted almost right at the 7 month window, and sure enough, it came thru within a couple of days (I was suprised, even tho it was a Weds night).

I expect that the hardest nights to get will be Sunday nights, or Sun and Mon of holiday weekends. But I also expect that things will start booking up for F&W, especially in the weeks before the F&W event schedule come out. If you're planning on going this year, put your ressie requests in soon, so in case you end up on the waitlist, you might at least have a decent chance of it coming thru.

I just booked 4 nights in a 1 BR from 10/13- 10/17 at BWV no problem, combination of points and cash nights. (no member discount out yet, but I'm hopeful)

Today is our 7 month window, and when I called today I had to waitlist for 2 nights in a BCV studio. We only want 2 nights, but the CM said all they had available was a 1BR. We're booked in our home resort (SSR), but still hoping the waitlist will come through!

Thanks everyone for your comments.....I am actually booking day by day..I originally called to book a 2 Bedroom for 10/13 through 10/18 and just couldn't make it work, so went to 10/20 through 10/25. There was a 2 Bedroom available, but I was outside my 7 month window. It was suggested that I could call each day and add on to my reservation. I have two nights booked and remain optimistic about the remaining three nights. This is special trip for my sister and brother-in-law and I'm hoping for the best

We are so excited. When does the F&W schedule come out?

Being our first trip home, we booked day by day at the 11 month window at BWV. We are super excited!
