September 25 - November 16.

With the marathon on Nov. 6-7 apparently, that was already on RunDisney's site.

Thanks for posting. It looks like this year it extends further into Nov. I'd rather it start earlier in Sep...warmer.

TBH, this makes me happy. When it rained during the marathon and we didn't spend the time in WS that we might have otherwise, we felt really rushed to get to Epcot on Monday (plans for Sunday were set) after an MK morning/afternoon to make sure we got in what we wanted on the last night of F+W.

This year we're going for the marathon again, so it's nice to know that if it rains again we will not have to worry about the festival ending before our trip ends. Also, hopefully, maybe crowds won't be quite as high with it not being the very last weekend of the festival as well as Veteran's Day/marathon weekend. (not that I expect them to be low, I don't, but maybe just a little less)

Food and Wine and Christmas? Intriguing. They just shifted it back a week from this year. I suspect most of the christmas stuff will actually be up when they close it down though with the shift into mid nov (not just the basic stuff in MK).

Maybe an effort to increase crowd as they approach Thanksgiving week in order to help reduce needed discounts(i.e-- free dining)?

IIRC this isn't the first time F&W has gone this late. Doesn't it usually cover 2 weekends in November? Last year, the first full weekend in November was Nov 1st. This year, Nov. 1st is a Sunday, so the first full weekend in November is a week later this year than it was last year.

ETA: Quick google found that 2010's festival ended Nov. 14th - which was also the Sunday of the second full weekend in November that year. (Nov 1 was Monday that year) 2011 went through Nov. 13th, 2012 through Nov. 12th, etc..

Ugh. I knew this was a possibility but now this means the opens the Friday we are there so my only options are to 1) not do F&W, 2) go to F&W on its first weekend. Scary! Or 3) extend the trip by two days offsite (at SOG).

What would the DISers do?!?

We have the same problem. I planned our trip based on what the dates were this year. We will be there on the 25th but that is our last full day there. I guess I need to go back to the drawing board in regards to which parks we are going to do which days.

How scary is opening day at Epcot for F&W?
Both my husband and I are planners. We made our proposed itinerary and had planned to do Epcot the 25th but now we're second guessing going on the first day. We had planned for Epcot on Friday and then again on Monday - we avoided Saturday & Sunday because of F&W.
We're booked the 23-29. WWYD?

I think there is usually a Cast Member preview the night before the actual first day. Maybe spend the day before there?

Works for me! We're there until Nov 7 and I thought this would be the last full week and weekend, probably crazy busy then.

Crowds were normal. However, what we've noticed is that sometimes they just aren't as well prepared on that first night. Card machines not hooked up in one case (pre magic bands), difficulty keeping up with demand, etc...

The CM's at the kisoks are kinda still learning at that point it seems.

It's not BAD at all, just something we've noticed.

Same problem here. We will be there Sept 22-28 and we picked that week based on the dates last year, and we will be at Universal our last 2 days, so that only gives us the 25th to go to F&W :( Universal also started HHN a weekend later this year, which messed with our plans a little, but I rented DVC points, so I can't change my dates. We also will just rearrange what we do on what day :) Still excited!!!!!
