Food Allergy?

I was wondering if this has happened to anybody else...

I (re)started WW a couple weeks ago. I found that Fiber One cereal is 0 points for 1/2 cup (yippee!!), so I've had that for breakfast several times.

During this time, my skin's become really itchy. My back, tummy, and the insides of my arms are the most affected.

I haven't changed soaps, perfumes, laundry detergent, or anything else I can think of. I haven't started eating any other new foods. The only change I can pinpoint is the new cereal.

Now that I suspect the cereal, I'll avoid it for the next few days and see if the itchiness gets any better.

I've never been allergic to any kind of food before, and I don't think there's anything unusual in this cereal. Is anyone else here sensitive to this (or any other) cereal? Any suggestions?

(My husband says I'm just allergic to eating healthy, and this is my body's reaction to suddenly being deprived of McDonald's french fries.)

That's happened to me with a brownie mix... it was so bad I had to soak in a baking soda bath! And mainlining Benadryl would have felt wonderful. ;)

I don't know what was in it that was different, but it took twice to figure out it was the brownies. Ugh.

I had an allergic reaction like you described to low-fat peanut butter, not the regular peanut butter. I checked the ingredients and called the company. It seems that the one ingredient that was in the lo-fat version but not in the regular version was copper sulphate. I know that I'm allergic to sulphur, so I guess that was it.

Just kind of an elimination thing. Maybe you can compare each of the ingredients on the Fiber One box to another cereal that you can eat okay.

Isn't it the pits though when you're trying to eat healthy.
