Food Allergies?

I have a food allergy to MSG and can not eat it without getting incredibly sick. My whole family (all 10 of us!) are going to Disney for 10 days and I don't want to get sick while were down there. Does anyone know if they use MSG ? I'm guessing they do, but I'm wondering if I can order my meals without it?

Thanks!

I honestly don't know where or if they use MSG...BUT we have always found Disney wonderful when it comes to food allergies. I would call them previous to your arrival and then ask to speak to the chefs wherever you dine. I am sure they will be more than happy to help you with your concerns.

Disney is great about allergies when your ready to order explain that you have an allergy and the chef will come out to discuss the menu with you with relation to your allergies.

by the two PPs, Disney is very conscious of food allergies. I would recommend noting your allergy when making an ADR and later confirming the information is in the system. The chefs will be informed well enough ahead to make the necessary changes for you.

I also have food alergies. MSG is one of them. Most of the chefs at WDW are very good about the allergies. I did not notice any MSG in the food I ate. However, be sure and ask at each and every restaurant you eat. They should be able to tell you.

As the previous posters said, they are wonderful with food allergies. My kids are allergic to eggs, nuts and shellfish..the chefs will come out and have even made special food options for my kids. They also will walk you through the buffets and talk you through the food selections.

We appreciate disney so much for this!

I also have a bad allergy to MSG. I was there when Yak and Yeti first opened and they had 2 dishes with MSG. The next night we were at the Safari Sunrise dinner and was talking to the chef who turned out to be the guy who manages all the menus for all the restaurants for AK. He told me that Disney does not allow MSG anywhere on property and was extremely angry that Yak and Yeti was using it. He told me it would be corrected 1st thing in the morning. So I ate everything on property with no problem including the usual things I stay away from like soup and salad dressings. You should be just fine!

Ditto! My DD is allergic to eggs, nuts, and bananas. At buffets, chefs would make special plates of food for her directly from the kitchen so there was no chance of cross contamination. Several times, they made special dishes as well.

We NEVER get that kind of service other places. Disney really does a wonderful job to include everyone in the Disney experience. It has spoiled us for other vacations.
