Hello all. Not my first trip to WDW, certainly the first one with some many food restrictions. Does anyone have any experience with the Disney World Food Allergies Snack Guide? It is not a Disney company product, but something I found when I was Google-ing information for my trip. If anyone has any insight with this guide I would appreciate your feedback.

Thanks in advance.

Suppliers change. You can use that to help you plan, but verify ingredients by asking every time. All of the stands and carts have an ingredient binder.

Agree to the above - we always ask for the binder at the QS or carts and same with the restaurants. We have been many times and still ask for the same foods.

Agree with the above. We typically order the same foods every few months and always check the binder because the tortilla chips that were safe last month may have a flour component this month.

Also depending on how severe your allergies are you can also ask to speak to the chef. Even during one of the festivals when everything was chaotic we were able to speak to someone in charge to verify that an item was vegetarian.

Have you always been able to eat your favorites, or have you had to give up something because of ingredient changes?

Okay. Follow same procedure as at home, always check the ingredients.

I appreciate everyone's tips! We have been planning, but we will have back up snacks too. We are avoiding many things and it would be nice to eat something fun and tasty for a change.
But life could be worse. 🙂 At least we get to go to Disney!

If your allergies are truly life threatening (I am not doubting you - we had a scout like that) I would be very careful. Recall that someone died at Disney Springs recently due to an allergic reaction.
We are aware of this tragedy. This is one reason why I inquired if anyone had any experience with the guide this person put together. I didn't know how indepth it was. I am extremely cautious and would rather skip something than risk a reaction. We always carry medicine and food.

As someone who has gone to WDW many times with many severe allergies, I never go by that allergy guide at the bottom of menus. It's not trustworthy enough. As others have mentioned there are binders with ingredients at stands, restaurants etc. Always let the location know of your allergies, and if you are at sit down restaurants (aka non-quick service): Ask to have the chef come to your table and go over things with you and they can make suggestions of what can be done with your meal with your allergies in mind.
At quick service ask for manager so they can go over the binder with you and help you choose a safe meal.

Good luck! :)

We have a peanut/tree nut allergy, so I only have to check for those items. So far, nothing has changed that would impact eating.
I do appreciate those binders, because they list everything and also use color coding to bring your attention to the top allergens.

Good luck and have fun!

I'd only go with whatever is officially from Disney.

Just wanted to toss in that last festival (in May) there was an allergy guide to the foods at the festival booths in Epcot that was accessible through the app. That was the first time (for me) that I'd seen that! My younger son (adult now) has life threatening allergies to some foods. SO much nicer than having to ask for the binder. Just made me curious if they've added allergies guides for things like the MNSSHP to the app, etc.

I wonder if you choose the mobile order option on your phone if it shows the allergy menus for each restaurant? Seems like I've done that to look through things. If you're looking particularly for snacks - you may still need to ask for the binder.

Absolutely we have lost and gained foods due to ingredient changes. We have even had times when a food was safe on Monday, and when we went back Wednesday it was a different product. You have to talk to someone EVERY time, even within the same trip.
