I really bonded with a cast member on my last cruise and I would like to add her on social media but I am not sure what the policy is about this? We have some mutual friends but I don't know if the cast members are supposed to interact with guests on social media.

If the CM gave you the info to contact them, I'd think it's OK. If it wasn't, they are jeopardizing their job. Best to ask them.

I have found thier crew Ship access has improved recently, and thry can post a lot now, and use messenger a lot more. Yes free wifi in port is still popular.

Thanks for the advice everyone! I just wanted to have the social media connection and being able to chat everyday is not a priority for me.

I absolutely keep in touch with our past stateroom hosts in particular. I didn't realize that FB Messenger has a video call feature just like Facetime, until one day our most recent stateroom host called me to say "hi" and chat with my son. She calls every couple of months just to check in. It's fun to stay in touch and plan to meet up on our next cruise!

Yes their wifi has improved so it's easier now.

We had a server we really took to, and we just asked if there was a way to keep in touch, if nothing else than to know when they were rotating on and off contract so we could plan accordingly. He offered up his Facebook. I'd say just ask what they might be comfortable with, contact wise.
