Following Dr. Seuss to BCV- a November 2011 TR Updates 6/11

I love all the updates, Ellen!

The video of Sean is priceless! Thank's for posting it ..... and the golf pics are really neat. Even though we stayed within the golf course at OKW the last time it's fun to actually see someone golf on their vacation.

Yum breakfast sandwiches and boo on the yogurt parfait! Why do they always have to mess with the yummy things! ;)

Pods is just like my DH Diet Coke with breakfast.

On vacation he has DC- at home he has OJ- I think the DC is his substitute for coffee- Pods is not a coffee drinker. What's your DH's excuse? :rotfl:

Thanks, Karin! The golf course at OKW is the first one we ever played at WDW- it's the LBV course. :goodvibes

I WAS really sad about the yogurt- I used to have them make mine with blueberries and chocolate chips- a GREAT way to start a vacation day! You will be VERY happy with what I did end up eating for breakfast, though- any guesses???;)

Love all of the updates!! I have missed you!! :goodvibes
So happy for Sean that he had a wonderful time on TT and was able to ride it twice...such a fun ride. And I think it's down in May:confused: Oh well. It will be all nice and rehabed for me in October

Hope you had a fun day shopping...the boys seem to have enjoyed golfing. I just want the cart...no golfing :rotfl2:

Tracy

Go Pods! I am totally impressed with the pictures. The golf course looks beautiful. What a great outing for the boys. And that Mickey golf cart is completely awesome! Great pic of the three of them.

I think we'll be too busy in the Ditch on Cinco de Mayo to get in a car of any kind, test track or not!! :rotfl:

And I want that cart, too! I have golfed 3 times at Disney and that cart is always OUT doing some kind of publicity somewhere. Figures when they finally see it I wasn't there!

And thanks for missing me-

Of all the courses we have golfed (we have not done the Palm because it has always been closed when we were there- that one is supposed to be gorgeous as well) this course they played is the nicest. :goodvibes Not that I've seen it- I've done LBV and Osprey ridge 2x. :goodvibes

Here is some pixie dust for you and your September booking!! pixiedust: I want to do to DL soooo badly- I really need to work on that....

Yes, you really do!;)

PLEASE take pics when you go!! Can't wait to hear about what you do in Hawaii!!!! Not much longer now, huh? We have never been to Oahu before- we visited Maui and the Big Island (Hawaii) on our honeymoon. There are some great threads on Mousecellaneous- Spleen is especially enlightening, and his kids are ADORABLE!!! :cutie:

Oh, I will definitely take pics! I'm thinking I'll have to do a TR or I wouldn't be a good DISer, right? :goodvibes Cynthia (eandesmom) asked for my bucket list - it was pretty long - I guess I'd better get to planning - I've been kind of hanging back, because I'm just a tag along, but I don't want to be like the people who show up at DL without a plan and then complain that they stood in line all day! Thanks for the tip - I'll have to check it out!

Oh the weight loss - we've been using the 30 days to feeling fit plan that a PHD in nutrition came up with, using our Arbonne shakes, etc. We have just been doing the protein shake and fiber and following the eating plan. I've lost 6 lbs, but about 3 inches. Jim has lost 4 inches around his middle. I have been cooking some really nice dinners out of the Adkins cookbooks - actually tasty and satisfying. We have learned that toxins and dairy and wheat make your liver put on fat because it can't deal with it - anyway I haven't taken all the products and I haven't given up the coffee and wine, and it's still working! We let up a little this week with Super Bowl and some medical stuff, but back to it next week! I have been seeing lots of other info that matches what this lady says in the plan. I will be happy to email the plan to you if you would like it!

Now back to read your update!

I am grinning from ear to ear watching Sean enjoy TT so much! I'm glad it was open for him!:woohoo: I didn't know I could get fresh parfaits, I've been just settling for the ones in the case. Not too bad.:goodvibes That golf cart is so cute! They should all be characters like that!

:thumbsup2 Welcome back world traveller!

Great updates! The videos are great! I'm glad you're having such a good time with Sean despite the rocky start! When things go better than you hope for that makes such wonderful memories!

As for the baby ruth boy - my mother said he was old enough to know better, but maybe just couldn't hold it enought to get to the bathroom? I know at 6 DS still waits until the absolute last moment to tell us, and then it's the mad dash. Having too much fun to pay attention I guess. :confused3

So where is the bucket list? I want to see what you're doing! I hope there's some shave ice with mac nut ice cream on that list! And Hula Pie! And Kualoa Ranch!! And snorkeling with turtles- and you can go whale watching (I can only see dolphins in the summer).....

I'm glad your diet works for you both! I love south beach- I cook alot of their food- and I'm not a shake person (I just don't like shakes- believe me, I tried when i was selling it!!). So don't know if it would work for me- but thanks for the offer!:goodvibes

Thank-you for the welcome back!! We had fun!!

Oh man...I hope that kid learns to put a cork in it soon!! :rotfl::rotfl:

DH not a big coffee drinker either.

Pods' brother doesn't like coffee, either. Maybe it's hereditary!

Once the golfers had left, Sean and I headed for the bus to DTD. Today was a beautiful, but quite chilly, day.

IMG_5501.jpg

Our AWESOME transportation mojo was still with us, and we were quickly picked up by the bus-

IMG_5502.jpg

After reading about Karin's love of the breakfast pizza at WPE, I knew where we were headed for our first meal of the day- fortunately for us, we walked in with a huge line of patrons who were ALL behind us. I was also feeling optimistic with Sean, and hoped for the best as we ordered some cornflake french toast for him. We went over to grab a seat- Sean must have been pretty hungry, he was getting VERY anxious for the food.

IMG_5503.jpg

Finally, (just in time, I might add) here it was-

IMG_5504.jpg

IMG_5505.jpg

O.M.G. Karin! That pizza was soooooooooooooooooooooooo delicious!! And HUGE!!! I ate two slices and wrapped up the rest (and ate it during the rest of the week). I cannot WAIT to have this pizza again! As for Sean and that crazy cornflake french toast-

IMG_5507.jpg

He ate EVERY BITE!! Well, not the banana (maybe that's why the banana's dancing!) or the strawberry, but I considered it a HUGE deal that he ate that toast- it was not like anything else he has ever had before, I can tell ya that!

When we were finished, we went for a walk. Of course, Sean had to give Buzz a hug-

IMG_5509.jpg

This was the opening day of the Festival of the Masters, and DTD was quickly filling up (but still VERY manageable)- there was soooo much to see! And, there was also alot of interactive craft stuff everywhere.

IMG_5510.jpg

Loads of crafting opportunities- but we were headed for the Lego store. At home, I had asked Sean if he would like to buy a new Lego kit when were in Disney- and many times, he had said yes. So off we went!

IMG_5511.jpg

I just LOVE the new displays-

IMG_5512.jpg

IMG_5515.jpg

IMG_5516.jpg

Well, we walked in the Lego store....and we walked out of the lego store. Sean was not interested in ANYTHING other than getting out of there. Sigh...

So we walked outside, where I tried to get him to interact with some of the activities....

IMG_5519.jpg

Cont'd next post-

The new store-

IMG_5520.jpg

This was cool- people were coloring in squares-
IMG_5521.jpg

Which then were applied to this board as and became a mural.
IMG_5522.jpg

IMG_5524.jpg

But Sean was not interested in coloring (and he loves art!). There was even a Lego one, with the same principle. I don't know why, but Sean had an agenda- and that agenda was to return to the Beach Club. He really wanted to spend as little time as possible here- maybe because it looked so different? Or maybe because...who knows? But I was determined to keep trying anyway-

IMG_5526.jpg

IMG_5527.jpg

I thought this was original-

IMG_5529.jpg

I decided we should walk back, a different way, of course, to try to see as much as possible.

I do hope to have another opportunity to see this festival- there really was a LOT to get involved in, and a ton of amazing arts & crafts- there were some very talented artists in attendance! The first morning was the PERFECT time to go, too- I would HIGHLY recommend it!:thumbsup2

Sean & I hopped on the bus, and, having lost our mojo, waited about 1/2 an hour for it to arrive. :sad2: Back to BCV for us. Which took close to an hour with detours, stops, and traffic. Up next- a nice relaxing day at the Beach Club with Sean. :)

Sorry DTD and the Lego store weren't a huge success with Sean, but at least you got a peak at the Festival

AND

you liked breakfast! That pizza is so awesome .... can't wait to have some myself (only 6 more sleeps I might add! :rotfl2:)
Cannot wait for the rest of your day! popcorn::

:cool1:Woo hoo for bus mojo on the way to DTD. Not so much on the way back. :sad2:

I have to say that the breakfast food at WPE looks AMAZING!!!! So glad Sean loved his french toast. Sorry he did not love DTD. Maybe with all the crafters around it was a little too much sensory overload. Glad you got to see it. Looks like a pretty cool event!

Well, now I see I need to add a few more things top my list...:goodvibes I did see the ranch on a TR and was telling Jim about it. I know some of the wives are planning to take a tour the base offers - --- Diamond Head Lookout and Crater, Kahala Neighborhood, Hanauma Bay, Halona Blow HOle, Sandy Beach, Makapuu Lookout, Nuuanu Pali Lookout, Punchbowl National Cemetary, King Kamehameha Statue, Iolani Palace. Enjoy a leisurely lunch at the beautiful Olomana Golf Course, nestled against the lush Koolau mountain range.
Here's my list:

1. Pearl Harbor of course
2. Snorkel at Hanauma Bay
3. Hike (mild, mind you ) to a waterfall for a picnic
4. Eat lots of pineapple - maybe visit the Dole place cuz you can buy Dole Whip mix
5. Sunset Dinner Cruise
6. Attend a Luau
7. Check out Aulani - I guess they have a free "luau type show" on Wed.
8. Shop at the big flea market or whatever that is???
9. Visit some historical places or a museum (pre-dating PH)
10. Maybe swim with Dolphins?

I think we need more days!:rotfl2: Especially with Jim working most of the days I'm there - although I think they'll find ways to take a little more time off. ;) Oh, and what is this Hula pie you speak of?

Nice breakfast! I am not much of a savory breakfast eater - I think I would enjoy Sean's french toast with him! :thumbsup2 Nice that he ate it! Too bad he wasn't feelin' the lego store. Maybe it was the change up in displays :confused3 Love the new sculptures! I'm so excited to go back and see the new stores and new restaurants. I love how DTD is always changing! Maybe not so great for Sean, though.

Both of your brekkies look amazing! I'd eat either one!

The crafter pics look awesome. I'd love to visit sometime while that is going on.

A boy that didn't want to buy any legos? He must've been not feeling well! :rotfl:

Yay!! It's almost time for you to go!! Please be sure to have some Brekkie 'Za for me (like I have to tell you that!)

I HIGHLY recommend WPE breakfast- early in the trip so you can save the leftovers for another morning! :thumbsup2 I think it was a lot of sensory overload for him- but I also think he normally could have dealt with it- he just couldn't on THIS trip because of the medicine issue. :sad1: YOU woul;d LOVE that Festival, MEK- so much creativity everywhere-

I am the opposite of you- I do not do well at ALL with a sweet breakfast- it makes my tummy hurt and it makes me want to take a nap! :rotfl: Yea- Sean was having a tough day- but, Sean was having a tough fall, so that day was nothing out of the ordinary. He is doing better now, though, even if he is still not 100% (but that just may be from regular teenage stuff- it's always impossible to know!).

BTW- I will respond to your Hawaii post seperately, i am not skipping it entirely! :goodvibes
