7:30 and the webcam shows heavy fog in Port Canaveral. 4 cruise ships hanging just off the port .... normally they'd all be pierside by now ..... Disney FANTASY is first in line but at least 30 minutes from the terminal ...

Gonna be a bunch of unhappy cruisers at the rental counters and airline check-in desks today ......

pretty much a given this will delay boarding as well. If at a Canaveral hotel for cruise leaving today I'd go back to bed for a couple of hours .... the terminal area is gonna be a MESS

The fog all the way down here in Ft Lauderdale as well.

This is the reason, you stay away from early flights.:scared1:

I was thinking the same thing. How many people do you think are pacing around the atrium right now, ready to run off the ship to make their 11:00 flight?

I was just watching the webcam and couldn't believe she was pulling in so late. We've been through one of those crazy days, trying to board when she came in late. It was CHAOS. We were sitting on highway a long time trying to get to the garage and had long lines throughout the terminal. We left late that night too.

Thinking about it, the CMs are probably having a miserable time right now with all the complaining and people staying in their cabins so they can't clean them in a timely manner. I'd hate to be them, dealing with this.

Still sitting and waiting. I'm having a coffe near Vista Cafe but many have been standing for hours. Glad I fly out tomorrow.

Oh my gosh- that would completely be me! I always pick an early flight out. I usually always try to leave Orlando by noon at the latest. Great reminder why I should pick a later flight :)

Heading to the Fantasy now. Received emails and phone calls around 8:30 (10 minutes after leaving our hotel in Ocala) telling us about the fog delay. They told us to delay our port arrival time by at least one hour. We are platinum and are due to arrive in about 30 minutes. Good news is that we saw Disney cruise line buses headed to the airport (as I'm typing this). Hope no one misses their flight.

I didn't see the email advising us to arrive an hour later than planned until I was already in the van on our way (we hired private transport). We left our Disney resort at 9. An hour an 45 mins later, we are still pretty far back in the line of cars trying to get into port. I am dreading the line we will have to stand in to get into the terminal.

True.
Most likely they will have opened the kids clubs (in open house) and put on movies in the theatres for somewhere to go and something to do.

They did exactly that. Well one movie was shown in one place. They had characters walking around too. It was craziness. We got out about 10:30 and there had to be another 2000 people in line.

After the long line to get off the process moved smoothly. It was hard for the cars to get in to pick people up. The road leading to port is really backed up.

How much of a delay is this likely to cause the ships in setting sail? Usually by now one of them has started to sail out, but they're all still at dockside.

hard to say - but if boarding only started at 1, presumably they may be an hour delayed, but maybe they were able to speed things along...have to wait and see...
DCL usually sails at 5, no?

Usually it's around 4:30 when leaving Port Canaveral. The Fantasy is pretty much like clockwork on leaving at 4:30 unless there are extenuating circumstances.
