I have decided its time to get serious again about flying. Everything ran so much smoother when I flew before. Now that its school time again life is getting even more hectic! Flylady will make it more manageable.

I thought I would start a home for us where we could hang out and encourage each other, share ideas and methods and of course gab!

I hope you will find time to relax and chat for a spell!

It is so nice to be in a clean room :goodvibes

My house is a mess, my older DD21 moved out last weekend and we are in the process of moving rooms around. I can't believe how much stuff we have and it is all over the dining room at this time.

I have never used Flylady.

I was always a disorganized, messy person. I started flylady a couple years ago and it changed my life, seriously. Unfortunately I fell away and things have gone downhill since. I have to get it back together!
Some people don't like that she sends so many emails (they are your tasks for the day, testimonies and reminders). I never found them to be a problem. I would read the subject line, which would usually serve as a reminder and then delete. No biggie to me.
If you haven't yet visited her site, I recommend it highly. It's Flylady.com

It might be fun too to share our flylady stories with each other, maybe they will be motivating to others. I have to run to work for now, but will share mine and how it made a difference at a very rough time in our lives when I get home.

I'll be peeking in through the day and hope to see you all soon!

I won't get any e-mails, will I? :badpc:

Not from here, but perhaps we could post the days missions and such here for those who want to join but do not want the emails.

OK, I'm in!

With my kids back in school (and my youngest now in all day kindergarten) I need to get my house back in order. I'm pretty good at keeping the house clean, but I have a lot of little projects that I also need to do. Seems that by the time I do the cleaning every day (I have my own schedule for doing things) I don't have time to do anything extra. Well, I do have time, but I fritter away time DISing, checking e-mail, playing computer games, etc.

I have a laptop computer with wireless access, so my computer is with me in the kitchen and anywhere else I want to bring it, so that is a major distraction for me. I'm going to have to start turning the computer off daily. :earseek:

Wish me luck...

This is SO me! Especially the part about the wireless laptop in the kitchen and everywhere.

I'm not ready to say I'm in - I need to find out more information about this, but I'm willing to learn!

Great idea! I'm totally ready to try to fly again.

We just moved and things are still somewhat in CHAOS. I'm trying just to make one room at a time a happy tidy place to escape and this thead means I've got 3 done! :goodvibes

I have my timer. :flower:

I've tried Flylady in the past - I never seem to get past getting dressed head to toe (as I sit here in my robe and nightgown.. :rotfl: )

My timer is LOST!!

BUT y'all have inspired me to go at it again! :flower:

One thing that has helped me most is support from other Flybabies.

I'm a member of a local county flylady group through yahoogroups. That has helped a lot--basically being accountable to others who are trying to tackle their homes. In our group there are people in all different situations--young and single, married with no children, women with families, empty nesters, etc. And we all have so much in common.

I do not always get dressed right away and I often do not wear my shoes in the house. Now since I have my youngest that I walk to the bus I have to get dressed, but it's usually in my clothes from yesterday. I then do my chores, etc, shower, and am then good to go (literally).

Find your timer!!! :rotfl:

OK! I'm in :). I started fluttering in mid-July. I am amazed at how much I can get done in just 15 minutes!

For some reason Fly Lady makes me motivated, not overwhelmed or guilty. That, for me, is more than half the battle.

Does anyone have any Fly Lady tools? I'm thinking about buying the calendar, a duster and maybe a timer.

Ok, I'm in too. I've let things go waaaayyyy too much lately and I need to get back on track.

It's amazing to me how wearing your shoes all the time really makes you feel like working. It's been a big help to me. I no longer have heel pain.

I like getting everything done fast and it stays picked up now. It takes my ds who is 6 five minutes to pick up his toys before bedtime. Not that he's always a willing participant.

I have 3 of the dusters--a regular and long one for my main level and a regular one for upstairs. They do a wonderful job at holding the dust and not spreading it around. I shake it outside often. As a matter of fact, dusting is on my chore list today and it's finally something that I don't dread.

I also have a timer. It's simple to use--some of them are a pain to program.

I'm in. Although, I can't really read this thread right now. My house is an absolute sty from the weekend. I have about an hour and a half to kick it into gear before I pick up my son from school. I'll check in later.

I just wanted to share how I swish and swipe the bathroom. I wasn't all that sure that I needed to S&S, but I figured like everything else it was the habit I wanted to get into. I am very, very good at overlooking dirt and clutter.

Anyway ... here goes. First, I squirt a bit of toilet bowl cleaner into the bowl and swish around. I don't use a lot because it really doesn't need that much every day. Then, I grap a wipe and do the mirrors and then move onto the sink, toilet, etc. I swipe for maybe one or two minutes. I keep a package of Windex Glass and Surface Cleaner wipes in my bathroom so I can easily grab them. I tried the generic Target brand and they streaked the glass, but the Windex brand works great. I usually do it after my 6 year old has finished brushing her teeth as I think most of the toothpaste ends up in the sink and not in her mouth. In less than 3 minutes I have a clean bathroom!
