We're a long way off from our upcoming Fantasy cruise (Sept 2019), but my DH and I are trying to decide if we should fly out of MCO the day we disembark or the day after. If we fly out the same day we disembark, what is the usual time of arrival using Disney transport at MCO? Don't want to risk booking a flight for a time that will be a struggle to make. TIA

DCL recommends booking a flight after 11:30 a.m.

We've flown out of MCO 3 times in the past 2 yrs. Security lines there can be very long. We fly out same day as we disembark and usually have a flight that leaves between 2-3pm. We normally get to the airport around 10am and have found it can take an hour or more to get through security. We cruise Jan-March, don't know what it's like during other times of the year.

My husband and DS had no problems making a 11:15 using Disney transportation

MCO figures that a lot of passengers just came from Disney World, so they're accustomed to long lines.

MCO may be used to it, but they are not quick about it. Of course, that is not helped by people who are not used to flying and pretty much need hand holding to get through the TSA lines... (I often wonder to myself if there was a rash of car trouble necessitating people who drove down flying home. Because they clearly have never flown before since they're so clueless - but they have all the "We've been to Disney and/or Universal" trappings, so they clearly live elsewhere. :P )

Taking the DCL bus, you can easily make a 1030 flight. But that requires you to skip breakfast and get on the 1st bus. They recommend 1130 or later and that allows you to use the Onboard Airline Checkin, where they take your bags and send them to your final destination. Honestly, I would fly out day the cruise ends. Book a mid-afternoon flight and you won't have any time stress from bus, lines, etc. Plus the positive energy you have from the cruise will offset (hopefully) the negativity of flying.

We had an 11:30 flight and had spent more than two hours waiting around at the airport. We had the early breakfast and disembarked when they announced the ship was cleared. I have heard everything takes longer if you leave later though as there are more people leaving and going through customs etc.

We book a late flight out (to be certain in case there are delays at port), and then book a dayroom at the airport Hyatt. Everyone can rest, swim, shower, eat, and we don’t stress about making the flight.

We have had no problem eating breakfast, using DCL transport and arriving at the airport early for an 11:50am flight.

We barely made a 12:35 pm flight despite being at the airport by 930 am. That was many years ago, but we went through MCO last year and while things were better, our travel agent said MCO is still an airport you should be at at least 3 hours before flight time because of the potential for security delays.

TSA lines are infamously long at MCO. You may want to invest in the tsa proapproval process. It’s worth it alone just for mco.

We've always flown out of MCO mid-afternoon coming off a Caribbean cruises. The cruise is during hurricane season and anything could happen. We limped into PC on our very memorable Hurricane Sandy cruise just before noon, because the Coast Guard had the inlet closed to the port, not the Mouse.
