Flying out of Kansas City (MCI) question

We are driving to Kansas City and will be parking our car in the long-term economy parking lot at the airport for 9 days. I know they have shuttles to take us from the lot to the terminal, but since there are 6 of us, lots of luggage and children, is it possible for dh to drop us off at the terminal and then go park the car and just him take the shuttle to the terminal?

Been awhile since we've flown and wasn't sure if this is possible. Thinking it is, but wanted to check.

It sure woud be alot easier for 5 of us to be dropped off with all the luggage at the terminal and only him having to park and board the shuttle.

Yes, you can. Plan enough time to do it. The group can wait with the luggage just inside the doors, then when your husband gets back, you can all check in and proceed through security. When you get back to MCI, just reverse the procedure. Send you husband to get the car while the rest of you collect your luggage & have him drive around to pick you up.

We fly out of MCI all the time, and this is spot on! I was just going to post that extra time should be allowed for the driver to get back to the terminal. It's not a long drive, but enough that you don't want to come in on two wheels, lol.

Thanks. That would be alot easier than getting all our luggage loaded onto that shuttle:)

Indeed! Most of the time, we are just two people, with only 2 carry on and one large bag, and it is a struggle to load without holding up the bus. We are short women, though.

MCI is very easy to navigate, so enjoy!:goodvibes

You can do this or skycap at the curb. Then all the luggage is checked in and you just wait on DH's return. We do this every time we fly. KC's airport is the easiest/least busy airport I have ever been to.

We will be doing the above scenario in 12 days!

If you are parking in the KCI long term parking dont forget to check the iflykci website. They usually have a free day coupon in there for parking.

Which airlines do you generally use? We have yet to see curbside checking at MCI, but maybe I'm not paying attention.;) We almost always fly SWA, and very early in the a.m.

Thanks for this reminder, I nearly forgot to print a coupon for my upcoming flight - only $6/day, but every little bit helps!:thumbsup2

Here is the link to this year's coupon: http://www.flykci.com/parking/coupon/index.htm
