Anyone on here that uses ACY? I was wondering if anyone could recommend a nice hotel for the night before our flight. We live about an hour away and have typically gotten up at 2:30 to catch the first flight out, but by the time we arrive we are exhausted. This year we have an unexpected opportunity to take an extra day, so we'd like to go down the day before and sit by the hotel pool. It'll be nice to get up closer to out normal time to get up for work if we do this. So if anyone can recommend a lower priced hotel, with a pool that is very close to the airport we'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

I don't know of any place that fits your criteria . . .

The closest places I know of aren't worth staying at.

We usually fly out of AC and like you, live a little over an hour away. This past March, we had an early AM flight and a freak snowstorm due the night before. We found the Residence Inn AC Airport (the one on Fire Road). It was wonderful. It is very clean, has suite style rooms (with kitchens so you can bring some breakfast stuff) and is a 5 minute drive to the airport. I can't comment on restaurants, etc in the area because we arrived late and stayed put and the area seems a little sketchy, but I would not hesitate to stay there again!

We've flown out of ACY a couple of times but we've always left on a Friday morning. So we would drive down to AC (about an hour and a half away) and stay the night at one of the boardwalk casinos because we are rewards members and could usually get a weeknight room for free. We haven't done this in a few years so I'm not really sure how easy this would be to do.

What town do you live in?
I live by Long Beach Island & there is a hotel in Manahawkin, NJ-Holiday Inn-very nice & clean-its on Rte 72E. What you would have to do is take Rte 72W to the GSP South & go to exit 44 and its really not far from there. Doesn't usually take us more than 20-25 min or so? Like I said though, all depends on which hour away direction that youre talking about.
Best of Luck

I'm only in Forked River, but it takes about 45mins, which is fine except when I have a 6or 7:30 am flight out. I want to stay as close as possible so I can wake up at 4:30, which is when I wake for work anyway. I always what to arrive at the airport extra early. Spirit is always overbooked and I don't want to get bumped on my way down.

If you are not flying out on Saturday or Sunday morning, I would check rates at the casino hotels. They usually have really reasonable rates for Sunday-Thursday night rooms. I would guess the drive is not more than 20 minutes or so. We did this for a trip last September, even though we only live about 50 minutes away from the airport. Took advantage of really cheap flight, otherwise we would have gone out of Philly, which is much closer to us. I do think the money we saved for the flight did go into a slot machine, though!:)

Aside from the Residence Inn mentioned previously, there is a Homewood Suites on English Creek Ave that has been open just over a year I believe.
