Flying into Tampa and Rental Car Questions

We may be flying into Tampa for our next trip. I have booked a car thru National and the reservation says Tampa/Shuttle. Is the national counter in Tampa not in the airport, but offsite? It does say I have Emerald Aisle.

In Tampa you take a short shuttle ride to the National lot (about 3-4 minutes). It's on the way out of the airport anyway, so I really don't think you loose much time going to National's lot versus renting from one of the companies with their lot in the terminal. The shuttle will let you off right at the Emerald Aisle, just pick your car and you're off! I rent from National all of the time in Tampa, and it really isn't a problem at all.

When you rent a car from Alamo in Tampa, can you still pick from the isle that tha car is in? I know this is how national works, I thought Alamo was the same.

I rented Alamo 2 trips in Orlando, but last trip, flight in Orlando got cancelled.. I drove to Tampa and dropped the car there and got the shuttle- easy as pie and I was sooo happy they didnt charge me extra to drop it there

I think most of the companies in Florida wont charge you for dropping off, because most of the locations are major airports or heavily rented areas...
