We have a Disney world trip planned in June for myself and my wife. We have looked at booking a flight to Sarasota from Austin and possibly driving to Orlando. Has anyone done this before? Is there some cheap options uber, rental, bus etc.... Just wanted some feed back.

Why are you thinking about doing it? I've done it in the past when I was going to Sarasota and wanted to go to Orlando, but I wouldn't advise doing this for an Orlando trip in the name of saving money or something.

We were thinking about doing this to save some money. I just didn't know if it would be too much of a hassle. The flights are definitely cheaper to Sarasota than to Orlando.

I do like that SRQ is just a smaller more regional airport so it feels easier to manage than Orlando, but it's like two and a half hours from the parks. That's (for me) a lot of extra time commitment on travel days, especially since I cross multiple time zones getting there. I also don't like to drive in Orlando and that's the only option I've ever used to go from Sarasota to there.

I liked the fact that is cheaper and the 2 1/2 hour drive is not a big deal. I was just trying to find the cheapest way to travel from there to Disney.
