hi all

we are planning a trip to wdw for christmas this year!

just so i can get an idea on flight costs...when did you fly and how much did you pay? and when did you buy your tickets?

we can fly from vancouver bc or seattle washington.

was looking at dec 20 or 21 or 22....does the cost change much the closer you get to the 25th?

cheers

Anytime the later part of December will be more expensive. If you can fly out of Seattle it is usually cheaper because their taxes are lower. Budget $1000 per person. Cheapest I've ever got air was just under $600 but that was at a slower time for air travel. My average is about $850.

Hope that helped.

We just returned from a fabulous Christmas at Disney World. We always fly out of Seattle and book directly on Alaska Airlines' site. We went from Dec 12-26 and our flight cost us $544 each after taxes. At the time we booked it, it was $900+ out of Vancouver. We drive to Seattle and then park at MasterParking Lot A, located almost across the street from the airport.
Have a great trip :)

We were in WDW from Dec 9 to 19th and went out of Seattle. We had 6 of us flying and booked on Southwest. Hmmm, think I booked back in mid-October.
Anyway, download Ding for the best deals and just keep watching.
The flight there was $85 each -yup about $599 including taxes etc for all 6 of us and coming home was about twice that. $1400 actually including taxes.
So, under $2000 for all 6 of return.
I figure that's cheaper almost than paying the fees and taxes on an airmiles flight and much cheaper than West Jet.
I kept checking the flights and they did not come down below about $239 after the 20th. The closer to Christmas you get, the more you should expect to pay. Also, book them early because you won't see the price drop and if you do, you can just cancel and rebook and take the credit.
Good luck!!

We fly out of Seattle, even for California trips. We save so much money, we can pay for the hotel night in Seattle, the park-n-fly and have lots of money left over to go crazy with at the parks. For a Florida trip, the savings for a family of four is really substantial. We do have Nexus though, so it cuts down the drive time considerably.

The cost changes quite a bit nearer to Christmas, and the crowds in the park are really heavy. Since they put up all the decorations and have all the Christmas events starting immediately after Thanksgiving (aka "American Thanksgiving"), we are quite happy to go at the beginning of December when the crowds are light and the airfare and hotel are well-priced.
