Anyone here choose to fly out of the US? Did you save any money? Now with the exchange and living close to Kalispell and Spokane, we're wonding if we should persue it.

What is the best method to find flights? We are 4 and would like to get there for $2500 Can. Is that reasonable?

We always fly out of Buffalo. Way cheaper!! 2 adults aboard Southwest airlines, $350 USD. Can't beat that.

BTW, I just checked, Southwest flies out of Spokane. Check southwest.com

We've used Spirit Airlines out of Detroit. $722 US for 4 people (and I know people who have gotten better deals)

It's worth a look to see if it's woth it for you.
My choices were either Detroit or Toronto, and Detroit has always been always cheaper.

In fact, didn't I hear that Toronto is one of the most expensive airports to fly in and out of??

I say look into it! We (two of us) fly from Detroit to Orlando this August for $285 Canadian on Northwest! I am sure it would be more from where you are thinking about but I would definitely check it out. We can't drive down for that with the price of gas. Good Luck!
:thumbsup2

We flew out of Buffalo a few years ago with a friend and her three boys. We flew on SOUTHWEST and the boys were FREE!! It was a buy one get one free promo. It ended up costing her $17.00 US for each of the kids, which would have been WAY more if we had flown out of Toronto. In my opinion THE WAY TO GO!

normally, you would get better deals flying out of the US.

Are you close to Calgary and can you fly out on a weekday? If yes, try Westjet.

I don't think Spokane has any nonstop flights to Orlando. There would be at least one connection.

I put in a random date on Westjet from a Mon. to a Mon. and got a cost of under $1600 for 4 in July. a bit more expensive on a weekend. also there was a connection through Toronto. They do have a nonstop flight but I don't know when or how often. someone here had mentioned it before.

We flew AC from Edmonton and it cost us too much. $750/person.

try sidestep.com or kayak.com (I think). Westjet, go on their website.

We have booked to fly with Alaska Air in March 2007. We fly from Seattle to Orlando on a direct flight (5 hours and 19 minutes) and arrive at 5:00 in the afternoon. With 3 kids that seemed the best way to go. I love the quick trip, no transfers etc. We redeemed some TD Travel miles dollars and ended up paying $2000 Canadian for the 5 of us. I thnk it is a pretty good deal. We didn't want to wait for the Southwest fares etc. I also love having our seat assignments already. We will have to travel to Seattle the night before but can, hopefully, find a cheapo place to crash for the night. Flying with Westjet was WAY more expensive and such a long day. We would get in at 11:00 ish at night (as I recall) so would likely still spent the night near MCO before venturing out to find our vacation home. IF you can wait and are not as neurotic about seating arrangements and transfers as I am :bitelip: you should get a better deal by flying with Southwest!

It looks like Spokane to MCO does not start running until September(with Southwest).
But,if thats when you wanted to go (or thereafter),the prices for random dates I plugged in were US$336 incl tax which would work out to about CAN$1496 for 4. Now, this has its drawbacks. The leg going down is 2 stops and 1 stop coming back. The good thing is that this was the regular fare (not Internet special or DING which could come up at any time).
