Flying from Rochester?

I've considered flying out of Buffalo for my next trip to the World. I noticed on another post something about flying from Rochester. Is that possible? Has anyone done it?

Buffalo would be convenient for us because we have family living in Niagara Falls who could drop us at the airport, but we would probably have to stay overnight in the Falls the night before.

Is it easier to fly from Rochester?

We live in Toronto.

My opinion is try Buffalo first. Southwest has 2 direct flights/day from Buff. It does not fly out of Rochester. Your drive to airport would be 3 hrs instead of 1.5 to buff. If you are only able to get a connecting flight with any airline out of buff. or Roch. you will have to compare the price and inconvienience to decide if it is worth the bother to fly from Roch. Your schedule also may play a part. Either way, flying out of either is way cheaper than Toronto. Never again!!! Flew Southwest 3 times to Orlando, direct flight to Orl. Had a tech. problem with plane coming back on our recent trip and we had to turn back and quickly changed our plane. We arrived less than 2hrs late in Buff. To our surprise and without asking they mailed us credit vouchers for the total $ that we paid for the 4 return flights, with a sincere apology letter. I know of no other airline with that kind of customer service. Just booked for Vegas in the fall with the credit!!!
Bottom line, try Buffalo first. Happy planning, I enjoy it almost as much as the trip.
