I can fly from Nashville to Tampa for $58 r/t, and then drive on the WDW. Do you think this is a wise decision? I thought it might be worth it since the fare is SOOO CHEAP! Has anyone else did this before? I'm new to flying...have never did it before and I'm 27 yo. For the whole family it's only $324. Then we'll have to rent a car--which is my next question--what's the best deal out there. Oh, yeah, we're going the first week of December. :bounce:

One more question: My flight goes from Nashville to St. Louis to Tampa...can I just get on the plane at St.Louis since St. Louis is actually closer to me than Nashville? Does that make sense? ANyway...THanks so much!

This will be my first trip to WDW I'm so excited, and I don't want to do anything I will regret!

Fares like that sell out fast, once you know you're going to make the trip BOOK IT.
It's about an hour drive from TPA to WDW (approx 75 miles).
You can see if the same deal is available from St. Louis if you go to St. Louis you'll find your reservation canceled when you don't board in Nashville. What airline?

This is with TWA. The jet is a Boeing 717 and a MD80. Are these small jets? I will probably be kinda nervous...should I be scared?

You are on basic jets. I would not be worried.

No, you cannot just drive to St. Louis and catch the plane there. If you fail to get on in Nashville your reservation will cancel. So your options are to buy a ticket from St. Louis to Tampa or to drive to Nashville.

The drive from Tampa to Disney is easy. Just follow the signs to I-4 in Tampa and drive on I-4 until you see the exits for Walt Disney World!

Good Luck!

This is what we are doing too, only flying out of Kansas City. St. Louis and KC are both about equidistance from where we live but we always fly out of KC because St. Louis is always more expensive. When we fly in November we are leaving from KC flying to St. Louis and changing planes then there is a stop-over in Nashville. We won't change planes there. Then on to Tampa. Still it is cheaper to leave from KC than St. Louis even though they could just fly us from St. L. Oh well!!

We have flown to Tampa many times and then rented a car from National for the day, to drive to WDW, when we get to WDW we return the car at the Car Care Center in DIsney. The drive is easy just straight on I4, it takes about 1 1/2 hrs at the most. We have flown the MD80 and it is a good size aircraft I would say it holds about 120 people.
