Hi All! My family of 4 will be travelling to our second home (POFQ) from Aug 20-29 this year and I am totally lost as to which airline to book with!! We want to fly out of Buffalo because it's most convenient for us, We've flown AirTran the last two times and it was SOO overcrowded and twice we were overbooked and had to take a different flight. We'd prefer NOT to go through that again if possible (but if the price is really good - hey we might consider ;)
I was considering JetBlue, but I've started hearing that they change their times a lot? I would really like an AM flight in and a PM flight out, so that would be pretty upsetting - but I DO like that their first bag is free.
I DON'T like the "no assigned seating" idea that I've heard about on Southwest - we have two kids and don't want them sitting all by themselves.

So after all that - what do y'all suggest? The good, bad and the ugly!!!

Hi! The last 2 trips we've actually flown SW there & JB back. SW has 1 or 2 early am direct flights which get into Orlando between 9-11 AM. I add the early bird check in & we've had A boarding group every time. I like JB an the way back coz the TVs help pass the time. You can pick your seats on JB & if you add the extra leg room seats, you get to use the priority lane @ security too.

We have been flying JB for years. Usually any time changes have only been 5-15 minutes. However our May flight has changed by 2 hours, was originally 8:30 & is now 6:30. This is the first time we have had a flight change by that much. On the positive side, they previously only had 1 direct flight back but have added a 2nd direct flight this year.

I vote for SWA heres why. In June SWA will have their annual birthday sale and the sale covers flights from mid- Aug to mid- Dec. so you may get a lower price flight.

Don't forget you can cancel or switch flights on SWA for FREE. And get a refund - in the form of a travel voucher if your flight drops in price

We fly only with SWA out of Buffalo. I purchase Early Bird Checkin and we always sit together. :)

Thanks so much for your input everyone!

I agree with all the PP's.
We've flown SWA many times & EBCI is worth it if you're at all afraid of being separated from your children. Even with the EB cost, you'll probably find it cheaper than other airlines once their sale comes out in June. And if you buy when the fares open on Monday you can get a credit if/when the fares come down later. The credit will be useful only if you plan on flying on SWA within the next year, tho. 2 bags pp fly free.
As for JB - their seats are more comfortable & the tv is great for the kids - tho it's not on all the time (take-off & landing for sure, not sure IIRC about other times). 1 bag pp flies free.
I just hate the way ALL the airlines try to cram you in these days - unless you opt for a 1st Class Tix.
Happy Travels!
