I'm trying to book Flying Fish for any night during our stay. Free Dining is blacked out that week and most signatures have some availability. Does anyone know why FF is booked solid the entire week Dec 4th - Dec 11th? Any chance it is closed for renovations or something?

it just seems a bit odd.

Thanks

Possibly because of all the DVC members that visit that week - DVC owners seem to have a great fondness for Flying Fish (me too). And that is a super popular DVC week.

Or as you said, it could be something else entirely.

I'm thinking it's not due to Pop Warner crowds, though.

I dont know. But glad we got an adr there. think we have the 10th. I made it the day I hit my 180 mark. Maybe conventioners?

It will be our lst time there and I picked it due to the pics and recs on these boards.

That does seem odd. We are going August 18th-26th (Free Dining:eek:) and I had my pick of times and days. I got a 6:00 dinner on the 22nd and I just booked it yesterday. We have never been there and it is our first signature dining experience. Very excited! :goodvibes

Thanks everyone, it is a little mystery! I was able to get California Grill (twice), Jiko, Narcoosees and Citricos. But no luck with Flying Fish.

I'll keep checking it and maybe give up my second Cali grill reservation if something opens up.

I too just read that that week is huge for DVC'ers and that is a popular DVC location.... hope something opens up for you~

Hope not! I have one for Dec 9th.:confused3

Funny - I think it's something going on at the Boardwalk. I'm staying there that week and I can't get a reservation for breakfast any day any time at Kouzzina. Maybe they are blacking it out for now?

Could it be that Dec 4th is not in the system yet?

I tried (and tried) for 2 weeks to make 'Ohana ADRs for the 1st week of January, and the ADRs just became available a couple days ago. I know it wasn't just me, because there have been lengthy discussions about it on this board.

I'd keep trying. Good luck!

The week of December 4th is definitely in the system, I've had most of our reservations for about a month or so. but absolutely no luck with Flying Fish!

Yes, Flying Fish is definitely in the sytsem. I took advantage of the 190 day glitch and got mine for that week with no problem at 190 days out.

This makes me glad that I snagged one for a month earlier on Nov. 5. Could it be that it's not that big of a place? I know that's why it's hard to get into Le Cellier. Not as many tables and they go faster. Maybe? :confused3

Something odd is going on for that whole area. I think I can get into almost every restaurant that week (not prime time of course) EXCEPT Boardwalk or Swan and Dolphin hotels. I read on another thread that there is a very big convention at the Swan the week before. Do they block out restaurants like they do rooms?

I am having a hard time believing that I won't be able to have breakfast at Kouzzina that whole week. I'm disappointed.

I don't think it's that. This past May we arrived almost two hours prior to our ADR time at Flying Fish, asked if there was any chance of getting in early as we were tired and hungry. The guy at the podium laughed, checked his board, and said how about right now. We were seated immediately. Of course this was right after they opened for the night. There were lots of empty tables, but I'm sure it got busier later. I also did a walk up there about 1 1/2 years ago around 7:00pm.

I am betting it isn't full for the week. It's not that popular. Either it isn't in the system or if you're booking online it just isn't working. Try this:

If you are searching for "dinner" try putting in a specific time and see what happens.

Or, call on the phone.

Both Flying fish and Kouzzina's were available for the week of the 4th until just recently. Wide open in fact. As of now there is no availablity Nov. 30th-Dec. 14th. Table service at the YC/BC is available. Is it possible there could be some renovation taking place in the kitchen area? Just thought I'd throw that out there.
