My DH and I would like to try the Flying Fish Cafe and we were wondering if anyone has taken their children with them?

Our girls are 11 and 8. We frequently take them to nice restaurants so they have developed their "table manners." My youngest, who must order off of the children's menu, likes the choices at the restaurant. She's not a big chicken nugget eater. I am hoping that this restaurant would be a nice fine dining experience for them.

I know it's Disney and children will be everywhere, I'm just curious if this is mainly an adults-only place.

We have eaten at FF 3 times...2 with our DS5, and once alone. We noted children at several of the tables each time. The staff doted on our boy, and we found the overall experience to be kid friendly.

I would say absolutely yes! Our children are older now but for years they have been to every resturant we have been to, including Flying Fish. The wait staff is always more than accomodating when it comes to the menu. You will have a lovely time I am sure. Enjoy! :)

In Disney, kids are accepted everywhere (well almost everywhere ...)! Flying Fish Cafe will definitely be a place for you to be with your family :)

FF is one of our favorites and we've dined here often. I've seen many young diners here. We are taking our grandchildren here in October.

We were just there last week with all three kids. They can definitely go. We do one signature a trip, and I actually thought Flying Fish was one of the more casual ones. We changed, but a lot of people did not. My kids loved the puzzle dessert.

One of our kids' favorites - no problem bringing them there, or any other signature for that matter. At some places (California Grill, Jiko, etc.) we do get early reservations with the kids (5:30), just so the atmosphere is preserved for those looking for an adult dinner at a later time.

I took my 7 year old to the Flying Fish last September and she loved it, it was our favorite non-character meal of the trip! Try the blood orange margarita with the gulf coast shrimp appetizer, it's amazing!!!

Last summer I took my 9yo and 14 you to FF. We all loved it. We are going back this year. The inside of the restaurant was so relaxed and wasn't crowded at all when we were there, service was the best!

Flying Fish was great for our DS5. He's good in restaurants... But the restaurant itself is a little noisy anyway from the open kitchen... Lots of fun decor to look at. But the best part is right outside the restaurant --- the boardwalk entertainers... we watched them before and after dinner - lots of fun, comedy, magic, juggling, etc... DS was pulled into the act too!

Food was incredible....

My Review of Flying Fish Cafe

Well behaved kids are welcome at any WDW restaurant (except Victoria and Albert's). Sounds like yours would do fine. FF is one of the noiser Signature restaurants, but you can always take your kids out to the BW area if they get too loud.

yes take them. I just posted a review of FF last night on my dining report take a look.

+1.

I have brought my daughter there 3 times and it was great each time.

Last year we took DS6 & DD10. They loved it. We loved it. Food is great & we didn't feel out of place at all.

Flying Fish Cafe may be "formal" by Disney standards, but it's still casual for restaurant standards in the outside world. That rule applies to almost all of the Disney restaurants classified as "signature," with Victoria & Albert's serving as the notable exception. It wouldn't surprise me if your children have already eaten in fancier places than Flying Fish. I wouldn't hesitate to bring your family there.

we took our DD, who was 4 at the time, last September. She LOVED it ! A quick tip though....if your kids are eating off the kids menu, ask what the fish is that they're serving. It didn't even occur to me and we ordered fish for her and it was salmon. Weeeeelllll, that didn't go over too well. So I was giving her some of mine to share. well, our WONDERFUL waiter must have saw this, and out of the blue came a hot dog and fries. I thought that was just such a sweet thing to do. :cloud9:

And the white choc puzzle dessert is fantastic for the kiddos. The atmosphere is great and it's fun after dinner to walk the boardwalk and see the magicians. Our DD loved that part ! You'll have a really FANTASTIC meal there !! it's one of our new favs !!
