This is our fourth trip to Disney and this time we're flying by the seat of our pants! No dining reservations, quick service meals only and no planned days. We're just going to pick parks at random to how we feel that day.
This time, we're there for ten days, so we're going to explore some of the different resorts. We've been to the Poly, Wilderness Lodge, Caribbean Beach, Port Orleans.
What resorts would you recommend to explore? Or are there any activities at Disney you would suggest we try? We do plan on going to Downtown Disney one day as well.
Thanks!

Take a trip over to the Boardwalk area. Several dining and entertainment options and walking through all of the resorts can be a lot of fun too. If you're looking for a nice snack opportunity be sure to visit Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club.

While we have done a trip or two similar to what you have in mind it was before the advent of the current crowd/park analyses available now. One thing I would do in your situation is at least find out the one park to avoid each day or the worst park for crowds. That way if you choose to just to get on a random bus in the morning you can avoid the bus for the worst park!

Have a great trip!

We fly by the seat of our pants every year. If you could see my Outlook calendar at work you would understand. I refuse to schedule every minute of our vacation. We have an awesome time very year.

Make sure you explore Animal Kingdom Resort.

A great way to spend one of those seat of your pants days - bus roulette.

What's that you say?

Basically, you go to the resort's stop in the morning and get on the first bus that comes. Do that park (or DTD) for the morning. Then go to the bus stop and get on the first (furthest, closest, you get the picture, just decide first) resort bus that comes. Go there for lunch. Repeat for afternoon & evening.

Oh I like this idea!! I'll have to keep this in mind for our next trip. Thanks!

We did this in May. We did have a couple table service places to eat but other than that we would get up in the morning and decide where we were going. I loved our vacation. I came home saying this was one of my favorite trips. We spent three days at water parks and then finished the evening at what ever park was open late. The weather was perfect, foods and snacks were great, resort (Pop Century) was amazing, and short waits for rides. We took our time visiting the the countries at EPCOT. Something I had always wanted to do. Take your time and enjoy your trip.

We always fly by the seat of our pants. "Never" make dining reservations. Only go to the parks one maybe two days during a whole week visit. We visit other resorts, rent sea racers, rent bikes at Wilderness lodge and ride over to Fort Wilderness, spend a day at the pool, visit other resorts & take the segway tour at Fort Wilderness.

Just depends on what we feel like doing when we get up in the morning.

No need to follow a schedule when on vacation. Following a schedule is done while at work not on vacation.

OMG I LOVE this!!! This is how we love to travel. And I have to say you will probably have the BEST time. There will be NO pressure on you to be a certain place at a certain time. Have fun!!!

When we take longer trips to WDW, we like to spend one morning or afternoon playing mini-golf at either of the two courses (Winter Summerland or Fantasia Gardens).

Visiting other resorts is fun too! If you haven't been to any of the value resorts I would recommend a stop by at least one of the 5. Taking photos with the larger than life icons in the background can make for very memorable photos.
