So we are joining a tour with my husband's travel company, but are going into Tokyo two nights in advance. We are on our own for transportation from Narita airport. I hear taxi is over $200. But how complex walking wise is it, to get to the Keisei Line, getting us to Nipper station? Then take a 15 minute taxi to the hotel. I'm wondering about shlepping two luggage pieces each to the train portion, is it tons of walking? Would it just be easier to drop the $200 for a taxi for the hour and a half ride?

The easiest option is the Narita Express. It's 50 minutes from the airport to Tokyo Station and continues on to Shinjuku.

There are also multiple bus companies that will take you to more locations in town. It takes longer, but they're a bit cheaper and might bring you within walking distance of your hotel.

Absolutely agree. Take the train. The Narita Express is super easy to get to the Shinjuku.
