we have had our flight times changed from bangor to detroit by 18 minutes. we now have 45 minutes to get from one delta gate to the next. we will be on the connecting flight from bangor to detroit. has anyone done this and do you get off on the tarmack and then walk into the airport. if so i have no idea where to go. do you know if it is well marked and is a half an hour possible. delta wants you checked in 15 min before next flight. need advice.thanks alot

It looks like BGR to DTW is an RJ, which means it will come in on concourse B or C. I assume you are going to MCO, that will be a mainline, which is concourse A. After you get off your first flight, you will need to follow the signs for the escalators, take them down a level, walk across a tunnel (which is under the taxiways) and then back up to A concourse.

If your first flight is ontime, you should be able to make it in 30 minutes. Will you have luggage or a stroller to wait for? Most carry-on luggage is too big to take on an RJ and has to be gate checked and will be returned to you on the jetway at DTW (RJ's would use a jetway). But that could take 10 or 15 minutes. It is laid out pretty well, I've connected there many times.

ok now im really worried
this is winter were talking about.
if on time big if
15 min to get luggage
can we do all that walking in 15 min im not really a fast walker. do they have walking sidewalks that helps alot
then 15 min before flight departure to check in
we are going to mco
disney cruise leaves next day. we have to be at port by 330pm i do believe.
i looked at other choice it is jfk with 1 hr 16 min layover. it seems the concenus was when i chose detroit connection when my boston connection was cancelled that detroit was easier. that there are more cancellations at jkf and changing terminals is also a good bet. now im not sure what to do.
leave detroit and hope for the best. any advice thanks

Delta/Northwest will know you are coming off a connection, they should not hold you to the 15 minute check-in. The tunnel does have a moving sidewalk. I would stay away from JFK. There's also the possibility that there will be another schedule change, which could be good or bad.

What time of day do you get to DTW? Right now there are 7 daily flights between DTW & MCO. If you arrive in the morning or afternoon, I would not worry you should be able to get on another flight if you miss the original.

we leave bangor at 830am arrive 1115am
leave at 12 noon and arrive in orlando at 240 pm
good idea ill check the delta website as if i were departing from detroit going to orlando and see what is available after that 12 noon flight. when is your march break. we are in new brunswick canada driving to bangor as flights are less than half of flying out of here. our march break starts feb 26 when does your marchbreak start. thanks for all the advice.

Since you are arriving that early, I would not be too concerned.

I don't have kids but I checked my district's calendar and their spring break is April 1 to 5.

hi i checked the delta website. there are actually quite a number of flights out of detroit after ours. so that does relieve my mind. yes im sure there will be lots of travelers but if it is not your spring break starting that day that would certainly help us out. thanks for all the advice. ill leave detroit and hope for the best.

Our flight from Portland ME to JFK (Feb 27) was changed and it only allowed us 30 minutes between flights. I had them change us to connecting in Atlanta instead. We will be getting in at 12:30 pm instead of 11:24 am but I feel more comfortable connecting in Atlanta then JFK.

You could ask Delta to move you to a later flight out of Detroit to MCO if you are not comfortable with the layover time. At least you will be guaranteed a seat on a later flight if the weather is bad or you leave Bangor late.
