Flying Air Cda and there is no meal offered, does anyone know if the meals are sold on plane or do we have to order them in advance through AC?

They'll sell food on the plane. For sandwiches, it'll either be from Montanas or Swiss Chalet or Subway. I bought a sandwich on my trip back from Los Angeles and it was actually quite good. You can usually buy other food (snack items like chocolate, chips, pizza (frozen type), etc.

The Air Canada Website has some more info including a menu of sorts.

Just--ick. Pack or purchase in the airport if you can. On one of our flight legs I was counting on the pizza for the kids, and the FA refused to sell it to me, she said it was inedible that day. Yes, do check out the menu; I had a really, really hard time finding something for my kids to eat. The sandwiches were ok for me, but I ended up picking off most of the condiments/extras for the kids. We got sandwiches from Tim's as we went through the airport and enjoyed them at leisure once we were settled.

Oh my gosh, assuming you can take food...I'd forgotten about the new restrictions, though I think food is ok now. (I haven't flown since July.)

If you have an opportunity, check out NWA out of YKF. They currently have the lowest prices to MCO in South Western Ontario... as of last week at least!

I have flown Air Canada many times and in my experience they never seem to have the food you want. They pick and choose their meals and will usually have a choice of two sandwiches however they can't tell you ahead of time which sandwiches those are. Packing your own meal, especially if you have picky eaters with you seems to be the wisest choice. However, if you are planning to buy from them make sure you have exact change.

Any suggestions what we should do? It is a five hour flight...no meal....should I pack a lunch and get drinks on board if the food selection is that crummy?

I would pack a lunch (or grab something in the airport but that is $$) if you have kiddos with you. If it is just the grown-ups you will likely be fine. We packed really basic stuff for DS - bologna and cheese sandwich (don't have to worry about squishing it as they taste better squished LOL), some cheese strings, drink box etc. Basically what I would pack for one of his school lunches.

They may sell out of their food. I had brought my own food on board but there was a gentleman in our row that wanted to purchase some food but they sold out 2 rows before our row.
