Just curious as to what career aspirations your jr high/high school kids have decided on? Are they pretty sure or changing their minds still?

Bradley (13) wants to be an author. He plans on getting a degree in english/literature and early education, and wats to be a kindergarten teacher until he makes his first big novel sell. :D .

He is quite positive of this choice and has actually been for a few years now.

My oldest (13) says he wants to be a Human Rights Activist/Lawyer and fight against injustice all over the world.

My Middle (10) wants to be Quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons. Last year he wanted to be a Police Officer or Special Commando for the Army.

My 8th grader wants to be an architect or an attorney. He even has his college picked out!

18 year old is studying polymer chemistry and hopes to develope material for new running shoes at Nike or Reebok
14yr old wants to study Aero space Engineering at one of the service academies

My DD, who is a senior in HS, just got accepted to the Unviersity of Pittsburgh - she wants to be a psychologist.

DS is a freshman in HS - he wanted to be a Park Ranger for about 8 years - until he got to HS and they did a Careers Class and the teacher told him he would not make a lot of money:rolleyes: - now he wants to do something in biology. I tried to tell him that if he's happy being in the outdoors, especially with his love of nature and history, then he should stick with his original plan.

7yodd is begging me to get her books published so she can be an author "NOW!". She also wants to create art through movies & books. As a backup she is going to be an Art Teacher.

12yodd has always said she wants to be a VET.

want to be a paramedic..

My son, no big shock, wants to be a pastor of a LARGE church. It is what he's wanted to be for as long as he could talk! Other than that he wants to be an actor on the range of James Earl Jones and Denzel Washington, his idols.

DS, Junior in HS wants to be a lawyer:D

My 14 year old daughter wants to be a neonatologist, my 11 yr. old son wants to be a professional hockey player until he's 35, and then go into aerospace engineering, and my 8 yr. old daughter wants to be a teacher or work at a spa on a cruise ship.

My son graduates from high school in four months. He wants to be a butcher. I guess we'll eat well :)

I am so jealous of all the choices these kids have. It's great.

I don't really remember if I had dreams like that. Maybe I did and just didn't follow through on them, probally because I was scared!

That's great. I think if I were to go back I would be either a vet or a pediatrician. A little too late now to start though!

<font color=navy>My oldest (16) wants to be a lawyer (a good one, he says). My almost 15 yr old dd isn't quite sure what she wants to do. For the longest time she wanted to be a vet. Now she's not sure. She just would like to work w/animals.

DD wants to be an actor. If that doesn't work out, she wants to work in film editing or special effects. She is also considering being a dialect coach. She speaks in foreign accents all the time. It drives me crazy!

No it's not. There were several people over 30 in my class, and at least two people turned 40 during vet school. If you can afford the time and money to fast track it, you can get prerequisites done in 2 years.

Since 5th grade until last year, my senior in high school DD knew which college she wanted to go to and was going to be a lawyer . Now she knows she wants to do something with political science or the law and did not even apply to the first college. She applied to 4 universities and has been accepted at 2 and we are waiting to hear from the other two.

My DS who is in 10th grade wants to do something math/science/computer oriented.

I am a freshman in college and I want to be a lawyer focusing on Constitutional Law and student rights.
I have an interest in becoming a judge after a few years as an attorney.

DS (13) wants to do something in the area of business management and/or actuarial science.

DS (12) wants to work with computers in some capacity.

Both hope to be college athletes... and take that as far as they can.... then fall back on their chosen field.

My middle DS who is in middle school has wanted to be a teacher since he was about 4. He just keeps changing his mind about what his "summer job" will be, but he always says teacher for his main job.

DD who is 7 wants to be Hillary Duff. Oh well, everyone needs a goal LOL!!!

Our DD18, who will be a freshman at Univ of South Florida this August, wants to be a nurse practitioner or a biochemical researcher. She's been in the Medical Magnet program all throughout HS and works now at an Assisted Living Facility.

We're so proud of her and her ambition!:D
