I've got an outdoor sports event (as an observer) this coming weekend, and don't want to clomp around in boots, since it's not supposed to rain or snow. Do the Monmouth Crocs and socks keep you warm, or am I better off with a good ol' pair of sneakers?

PS I don't have to LOOK good...just be warm. :)

YES!!! there have been many times i've worn them and my feet are the only part of me that are warm.

Absolutely! I sometimes can't wear them when I want to because my feet will get TOO warm.

I wear them all winter. When it starts to get cold out -20/32f then I will wear socks with them too.:thumbsup2

Ooooo...thank you! I'm psyched...I'm going to have warm feet, if nothing else! :teeth:

They keep my feet warm for a short time - running into the garage or out to the mailbox or whatever.

But they are backless. And they have holes. Once the snow gets on your socks, your socks get wet. Once you're wet in the winter, you're cold.

I wouldn't wear them instead of boots for walking through snow and slush. But if the driveway is cleared and you're just going for the mail, they're great. :)

I love the Mammoth Crocs BUT mine wore out over one winter season and you can't replace the lining. So, you have to buy a new pair which really irritates me. I can't decide if I will replace them.

We're not expecting snow or rain, and I wouldn't wear them if we were. (I'm smart like that! ) I always keep a spare pair of sneakers in the car, if something unexpected comes along.

MosMom, I'd email them suggesting being able to get spare liners. I have fake Crocs with a lining, and I like to wash the lining often. Besides the fact that eventually the lining will wear out, I'd like to still wear the shoes while the lining is out of commission; a 2nd lining would be nice to have.

They have DISNEY Mammoth Crocs now...really cute, saw them at the LAND last weekend. :mickeyjum

DISer's...I find my Crocs very slippery when walking on wet pavement....:confused3 does anyone else? I, personally, would never wear Crocs outside in the winter. I about broke my neck coming in from checking the mail last winter as the driveway was wet and then walked into the garage and almost wiped out. :headache:

Now I am in SoCal and my Crocs can be worn 24/7....never rains here!!! :sunny:

OP, do you wear sneakers instead of boots?

LLBean has these awesome slip ons and short boots, I have both, very comfy and warm!!! :thumbsup2 Perfect for pre-storm events in the winter. :goodvibes

I always, year round, have a pair of sneakers in the car, just in case I'm wearing Crocs and I get an opportunity to go walking, like at DS's soccer practices. I'm not a cold weather person, so I'm usually only out in bad weather as briefly as possible, and yes, my sneakers get wet. :scared:

I haven't really found the perfect pair of boots. I have very unstylish ones that I can throw on for wear in the yard. And I have a more stylish pair that aren't really comfortable, and can't wear thick socks with. :confused3 I looked yesterday at Kohls, but I think I need wide width, and the wide width ones were too high (don't like them high...my pants don't fit in them, or over them). I do like the LL Bean ones...I've been eyeing them, actually. But I hate to mailorder shoes, because I've got foot issues (not pretty). One of these days, I'll get up to the new store in Mansfield, MA, and try them on!

EXTREMELY slippery, though for some reason they seem worse to me after rain than they do in snow, I guess maybe because snow has at least a tiny bit of texture to grip. I couldn't tell you how many times I've almost fallen on my butt because I didn't absolutely mince everywhere I walked after rain.
