Bare with me here....
We have 31 days till we fly out to disneyworld. We have saved and saved for this trip and are excited beyond all get out, as
1. We haven't been since 2005
2. Our 7yr old has never been to disney world and he was MADE FOR DISNEY. He's so animated, such a character himself, wants to go so bad. (he doesn't know we're going, we want to surprise him) Our 14yr old has been there twice. Both DH and I our disney freaks and proud of it.
But I am going to stress myself out worrying about the flu. People in my area (wisconsin/ill. border) are dropping like flies. We have all gotten our flu shots , but that doesnt mean squat. I am going to drive myself crazy. It's so stupid and irrational to worry about something you have no control over.
Our vacation in 2005, our oldest DS came down w/5th's disease the night we flew out. (bright red rash on cheeks and fever) Got there and the first day we woke up, he was so stiff, we had to carry him into a warm bath to loosen him up, and give him lots of tylenol. He rode a stroller for the first few hours in the park... but by noon, he was good to go, running around like crazy... but every morning, we had to do that. (Dr. said this was all fine)
So.
1. Have you ever gotten sick? And had to cancel your disney vacation?
2. Ever gotten sick DURING your vacation?
3. Haven't booked yet, (doing so soon) but does travel ins. even cover if the family comes down w/the flu? What is the best type of travel ins. ?
4. I would never want to spread the flu to other people, but do the airlines even let you fly? If you're somewhat sick? (meaning if you're there and need to get back home?)
Tell me I'm crazy and a loon for worrying over something so out of my control.
Laugh and point at me....
Tell me that's what I get when I plan on taking a trip during flu season. (but hey, it's also low crowd season.)
But tell me your stories....
