Flowers, VIP Lounges, and John Gidding: Oh my! March 2012 Trip Report!!!!

We continued past Spaceship Earth because even though I was dying to ride it, the line was way too long for our liking.

We took this opportunity to check out all of the special, seasonal Flower & Garden festival things there were.

I snapped a quick pic of the Fountain of Nations because I just love how the water comes out in the pictures I take. (:

DSC_0537.jpg

Then I saw the most beautiful topiary! The Peter Pan one!!!! :wizard:

I then cast my eyes upon a beautiful sight!

I had seen pictures of this display for years online, and now I was finally getting to see it in person! It was a moment of realization that I was finally getting to experience Disney's super cool seasonal events. First Christmas, now this...what could be better?!

...Maybe some ducks....? (:

DSC_0544.jpg

Ahh, I love Disney ducks! At least that's what I call them! :cutie:

After snagging some photos around the fountain area, we went inside Bambi's Butterfly House.

DSC_0547.jpg

DSC_0549.jpg

Here's the educational aspect of it ;) This reminded me of elementary school science class.

DSC_0550.jpg

DSC_0551.jpg

Now back to the pretty things! I spy with my little eye....a butterfly!

DSC_0552.jpg

Don't make yourself go crazy looking...there aren't any butterflies in this one...promise.

DSC_0554.jpg

There does happen to be a butterfly in this picture though ;)

DSC_0556.jpg

DSC_0557.jpg

topiarybambi.jpg

It was beginning to get crowded in there, so we decided that we had our fill of butterflies and exited. ;) Unfortunately, the rain started to come down at this moment! We ducked by a merchandise location and watched the Fountain show going on.

DSC_0560.jpg

Then, we made our way over to the pavilion I had been reading about for the longest time but never actually got to step into until this time. It should be pretty obvious by now...but can you guess where?? (:

DSC_0562.jpg

That would be hysterical if you did a make your own yogurt parfait, but didn't add yogurt. I could just imagine how the CM would react. "No, I don't want yogurt"..."But it's a yogurt parfait". :rotfl2: Sorry, that's probably totally random, but now I want to try to do that!

The F&G festival is so pretty, I actually haven't been back for that in about 7 years. I need to go. The topiaries are just so pretty to look at. That would be a pretty cool job, making topiaries at Disney.

Ahaha, I like your sense of humor :thumbsup2

I agree! It's going to take a bit of convincing, but I'm gonna try and convince my mom to go again next year. I mean...that's what annual passes are for....right? :rolleyes1

The Wonders of Life Pavilion of course! Or as it was called during this special event, the Flower & Garden Festival Center.

DSC_0564.jpg

DSC_0565.jpg

I immediately loved it! It is so open & airy in there - perfect for a festival like this one.

We made our way around the entire pavilion, peeking at merchandise and presentations that were going on. We're not necessarily interested in gardening, so we choose to skip the presentations.

DSC_0568.jpg

From the inside looking out, I love this view!

DSC_0569.jpg

DSC_0563.jpg

As we left the pavilion, it was beginning to rain, so we dashed over to the Mission Space gift shop for a few minutes.

DSC_0570.jpg

The rain gave us plenty of time to look around, and while I was looking I found this hidden mickey!

DSC_0571.jpg

We didn't even try to get on Test Track after the rain cleared up, because I was excited to get to World Showcase & see all of the topiares there, so off we went!

DSC_0573.jpg

DSC_0574.jpg

Before we could see any flowers, we set our eyes on some churros. :thumbsup2

DSC_0575.jpg

IMG_6136.jpg

Can I just say...these are the BEST churros I've ever had! Mmmmm, they were so much better than the ones you can get from the carts in the Magic Kingdom. And the caramel milk dipping sauce just made it all the better. I'll definitely be getting these again!

After we split our little snack, we went inside the Mexico Pavilion to cool down. It's definitely not as hot in WDW during March as it is in the summer, but it still was pretty hot!

After we took advantage of the air conditioning for as long as possible, we left the pavilion knowing that we had a lot ahead of us! First, I wanted to get some pictures in front of the location where Donald comes out for M&G.

And after a few shots, look who came out!

What great timing we had. ;)

Love your TR :goodvibes

Your photos of POR are great, I'm so excited to stay there in September :cool1:

Great timing I agree. Never knew that's where he came out of.

:thumbsup2 We've been meeting Donald at that location for a couple years now!

I love the fireworks on the Gran Fiesta Tour also. :thumbsup2

Aww thank you so much! You're going to love POR. It's my favorite mod by far.

Subbing in! Now I need to go read back and catch up!

Thanks so much for joining!

Hey guys! Just posing to say I'm still alive & updates should be coming in the next week. I haven't had time the past week or so because school was ending and in New York we have Regent examinations that I had to take. But the good news is, my last one was Friday, so it's officially summer for me! I'm off to Pennsylvania for the weekend, but as soon as I get back to Brooklyn I'm going to try and update. Have a fantastic weekend and have a magical day!! <3

YAY! All caught up! So far it sounds like this was a really nice, but short, trip! I'm loving all of your videos and I gotta agree, when I apply for the DCP (thereafter get in), I will be seeing Fantasmic every night! LOOOOVVVEEEE THAT SHOW!! Sorry you had to miss Wishes because of it though... oh well, always the next night! (And I promise my next comment will be much longer)

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Walking over to Norway, I decided that I wanted to go into the Stave Church and my mom had to go to the bathroom (conveniently located around the corner ) so it gave me a few minutes to just read, look, and listen to the background music that I happen to have on my iPod from that area...:rolleyes1 And I had time to enjoy some nice air conditioning. :thumbsup2

We passed on Malestrom because the wait time was crazy, but we wanted to see how far we could continue our "Snacking Around the World" quest, so we backtracked and went inside the bakery.

DSC_0647.jpg

There, I was planning on asking if I could get school bread minus the cocount on the top (I'm not a big fan of it.) They were easily able to do it last November, but this time they sadly were not. :( My backup plan was to order Lefse. I remember seeing it on my Disney Dining app and the "potato bread with butter and cinnamon sugar" sounded interesting. And on top of that, it was only $1.99! That's a Disney bargain. ;) My mom went with the Kringla Sweet Pretzel. We both got a bottle of Voss water along with our desserts, cause we're suckers who are willing to pay a dollar extra for Artesian water. ;) You know, I just recently discovered that my local Walgreens sells Voss for only $1.59! Now I can just stop by there whenever I need a little Epcot fix. :)

IMG_6138.jpg

To be honest, we didn't like our choices too much. They were both far too sweet! The school bread is the best thing there, IMO. But it was alright, we got our Voss and were ready to head onto China. :thumbsup2:

We were greeted by the panda topiares! Don't mind my face ;) It was rather sunny.

DSC_0649.jpg

Both my mom and I wanted to see Reflections of China since we missed it on our Thanksgiving trip, so we headed right there.

Soon enough our time came, and we went inside the theatre. I really love this show. I love all Circle Vision shows! I tend to always look behind me during them, gives you a different perspective. And I love when the narrator says something along the lines of, "But if you want to see the *real* China, you must look to our people" and each screen shows a different person! I absolutely love that. (:

After the show finished we didn't waste too much time in the gift shop, for we wanted to keep on exploring around the world!

Hi Stephanie :) I'm really enjoying your report. You take such beautiful pictures. What kind of camera do you use?? I love all your EPCOT shots. I really want to go during the garden festival. Looking forward to more. OH, great shots at the POLY too. -Amanda :goodvibes
