Flowers, Segways & DIS Meets, Oh My! - Updated 10/26, Final Thoughts-FINALLY!

Awesome update!

Your TR has me definitely wanting to see the Flower and Garden Festival one day.

Looking forward to hearing what you guys thought about Cirque:goodvibes

Thanks! The F&GF is awesome, worth seeing for sure :thumbsup2

I hope to have my Cirque update posted later today - we'll see!

I love little Baylee's patriotic outfit! Super cute stuff that tiny girl is. :) Good luck to the boys on their tournaments too! Morghan's softball season wrapped up last weekend and we have a couple weeks to go with Dimitri yet.

Your lunch looks fabulous! We skipped SS and decided to try Mexico's CS place instead. Eh, not a great idea. I should have stuck with my original choice I think. Oh well, live and learn. Next time hopefully as those desserts look wonderful!

Thanks Kelli, I think she's pretty cute too. I've got to work it into my day today to get over and see her before we leave for a week! Doesn't it feel nice to get to the end of the season - it's almost like I can breathe again

SS has a bit of everything, it's a good choice for a family since it's rare that everyone wants the same kind of food in our house! The dessert case is to die for - the choices are so much better than most of the CS places!

I had the same thought just looking at your photos.:rotfl:

BTW, great trip report so far, can't wait to read the rest of it.

Funny how after you read those books those little details creep into mind while touring the parks isn't it?

Good luck at the tournament..........hope it goes well!!! :thumbsup2

I love the topiary pics.........so pretty! :goodvibes

The Dismeet looked like a lot of fun..................Disfriends + Margaritas = A good time! :woohoo:

Interested in hearing what you thought about the Cirque show.........I've seen a couple of them, but not the one in WDW.

WOW! Look at your ticker - you're in single digits today! :woohoo:

You can't go wrong with good margaritas and DISers - it's a great combination!

Oh wow, I didn't think it'd be a "serious" thing that the CMs would have to tell everyone to drink and walk around. Haha, it's definitely not feasible for me then!

Haha, I had to quickly scrolls down to pass your shark pic. And what a different view of the manatees than what I had when watching them from above!

I wanted to get the strawberry shortcake to try in April, but when we were in The Land, it definitely wasn't time for a dessert item! Love how there's always "next time."

What a great DIS meet! It must've been nice to be able to sit inside and just relax with a drink. Provides a much better setting for chatting it up!

Yes, Canada is beautiful! That's the kind of pavilion that would be the perfect place for a wedding or engagement photos!

The fact that the CMs mentioned it is was made me caution you about it - I wouldn't have thought a thing about it otherwise!

Sharks give me the creeps too! We watched the manatees from above as well, but really couldn't see them very well from up there so we decided to go down and see them through the tank as well.

When you're on vacation anytime is dessert time! :thumbsup2

It was a great place for a DISmeet - inside out of the heat, in a small area where we could really get a chance to chat. I have to give props to Katie for thinking of it!

Ooooo, Canada would be a lovely place for wedding photos!

First of all - enjoy your upcoming tournament. The boys sound so excited. I hope you have a blast. :thumbsup2

Second - I think I needed a flat Stanley to represent me during the Cinco de Mayo meet! I want to try every single one of those margaritas. Good to know they don't skimp on the main ingredient. I can't believe your mom tried the avocado margarita. Now that is brave to try something so unusual.

Lovely day at Epcot - just perfect and lovely pictures, too!

You might not want to try them all at once - they pack a bit of a punch  I never would have ordered the avocado margarita! Everyone was curious about it, but not brave enough to give it a try. I'm glad Mom went out on a limb and got it so that I was able to try it :thumbsup2

I've never heard of that San Angel bar.. the drinks look soo yummy! Especially yours.. idk if I could have gotten myself to get the avocado one.. I love avocado but idk about in drinks. hehe

I love all the pictures of the topiaries- they are seriously amazing- especially the bambi ones!

The bar is relatively new, opened late last year I think. I never would have ordered the avocado one either, but I was happy to try it when Mom did.

Oh gosh, all the topiaries were so pretty. I'm so glad that I was able to go during that time!

Ok everyone, I have a TON of stuff to do today to try and get ready for our trip. We are leaving pretty early in the morning. I'll do my best to get another update up today though!

GOOD LUCK TO JARED AT THE TOURNEY!!!!!
Be carefull and drive safe. Try to stay cool - yeah right!:sunny: Not with the lovely heat wave that is over us.

First have a great time at the tournament next week! :cheer2:
I have been trying so hard to catch up with everyone on their TR's and I have fallen so behind! :sad2:
I enjoyed your Segway report....that really looks like so much fun and may look into that for October...there are some people that ride by my work once in awhile and they look so out of place and funny...it's fine when you are in a group like that but wow....alone in public, talk about stares! :rotfl2:
I had a wonderful time at the Dis meet....I was a little late but I made it over there and made up for lost time ;) I had the blood orange margarita and then the classic....both were outstanding and I will be making another stop there in October (and the trip after that, and the trip after that ;))
I ate at Sunshine Seasons that am :goodvibes It was after Soarin and I wanted a little something....very good although I can't remember what I had :rotfl2: Yours looked much better and healthier!!

I'm glad you enjoyed the segway tour! DH did it by himself in 2007 and absolutely loved it. We were staying at the Beach Club, and International Gateway doesn't open early so he had to take a cab to the front entrance. Thankfully we knew that in advance. :thumbsup2 We have the same pic as you--him on the Segway in Italy with SE in the background! I'll have to check our pictures and see who the tour guide was... :confused3

Did your mom enjoy the strawberry shortcake? I tried it after reading so many good things here, and it was delicious! The margarita DIS meet looked like it was so fun; I really want to try and make it there on our next trip.

I feel like I keep saying it, but all the pics of the topiaries are so pretty!

I love the pics of Baylee in July 4th outfit! :lovestruc

I hope you guys have a really fun trip and tournament! :goodvibes

First of all, I have to say that I LOVED little Baylee's outfit & headband! How cute!!! I actually just went to the store yesterday & bought a few things for my little niece. They have so much more for girls than they do for boys! I told her she's going to be a very spoiled little girl whenever it comes to clothes, shoes, and accessories!

I loved the pictures of Epcot! Bambi is one of my favorite Disney movies because I remember it from whenever I was younger. My mom always read the book to me & we had the VHS tape! Flower is my favorite!

Glad you were able to have a DIS-meet! All of the margaritas looked yummy! I've only had 1 alcoholic drink at Disney throughout all of my trips, can you believe it? Next trip, I think we're going to have to get a babysitter for our Epcot day & try some of the drinks I've learned about through DIS! :rotfl: (My husband is not a drinker, so I always feel odd drinking alone.)

Not sure why, but last trip, we didn't even go into the Land Pavilion! :confused3 We ended up eating at Sunshine Seasons twice this trip! I really enjoyed our meals there. I got the same thing as your mom...the chicken with rice & broccoli. It was very good, but very filling. I wasn't able to finish it all & since it was early in the day, had to throw it out. As MeMom said, I would have taken it with me if we were going right back to our resort! I was disappointed later in the day (whenever I was hungry) that I didn't save it, but it would have been impossible with the temps in the high-90's!

Hope you have fun on your trip & good luck to your son at the tournament!!!

Sorry I've not been around...so very busy with Mark's surgery, etc Love the updated F&G pics--awesome. And yay for a DIS meet...how much fun those are. Was your mom there? Did she take the picture?

Thanks! We had a pretty good week but it was HOT! Seriously, like melting HOT.......

I understand being behind on your subscriptions - I'm WAY behind now. I really should have taken my laptop with me to St. Louis. We just had so much baseball crap to take I was trying to lessen the load.....

I would feel pretty weird riding around on a Segway alone too. I would feel so self conscious, like I was on display or something

Oooooo, I must have missed the blood orange margarita that you had - I'll have to put it on my list for the future - sounds interesting!

I KNOW!!! I am so excited............so excited that I decided to start my TR today! :rotfl2: I couldn't wait until we got back!!!

I'll be over to check it out soon! :thumbsup2 I'm so glad that you decided to write one!

That is good that your DH knew in advance that he was going to have to go to the main entrance - that would have stunk to be standing alone at the International Gateway and realizing that you were probably going to miss your tour!

Mom did like the strawberry shortcake, I took a bite and thought it was good too even though I'm not much of a fan of it as a general rule.

We had a pretty good trip, I'll do a little mini TR here and of course throw in plenty of pics!

Welcome back! Glad you had a good trip.

Anxiously waiting for your next update...:) popcorn::

Little girl stuff is WAY cuter than boy stuff - it's probably a good thing I don't have a girl, I'd go broke buying everything in sight!

I actually remember seeing Bambi in the theater, they must have re-released it or something, so it holds a special spot in my memory too. :goodvibes

I'm pretty sure Mom threw out some of her meal from SS too, I know I didn't finish my salad. Really we should have gotten one meal and split it!

Fun DIS meet!

How nice for Sharon to bring gifts for everyone!

It was a fun DIS meet Michelle!

I thought it was very nice of her to bring gifts too, and I felt a little bad that I hadn't thought to do it as well

I hope Mark is doing well, it will take me awhile to catch up on all my subscriptions, but I'll be over to yours soon to get the update.

You are correct, Mom was taking the picture :thumbsup2

Everything ok???????:rolleyes1

Yep, just out of town without a laptop!

*******************

Obviously I never did get around to writing and posting the rest of day 5 before we left for St. Louis :sad2:

We had a good trip, finished 8th out of 21 teams. Not too bad for their first experience in a World Series tournament. We were also able to do a few touristy things, I'll write up a mini TR and post it with some pics soon - just need to catch up on all my subscriptions first! :thumbsup2

Welcome back...we missed you. I think an 8th place showing out of 21 teams is very impressive for a first time in such a tournament.
