Flowers, Segways & DIS Meets, Oh My! - Updated 10/26, Final Thoughts-FINALLY!

Great Update! I loved seeing the pictures of CSR...what a gorgeous room!!!

I'm with you about not enjoying turbulence on an airplane, that is no fun at all! I'm not a good flyer by any means so I would have been white knuckled right next to you!

That's awesome about Justin's award!!! :goodvibes

Ugh about the turbulence at the beginning of your flight! :scared:

Love the new room decor at CSR! It's so sleek and polished looking!

UGH I can not stand to fly  Glad you made it safe and sound!

Your room was sooo pretty! I love all of the little details! I am so excited to see pics of the pool. By the way, your mother is just beautiful! Must be where you get it from ;)

Haha, WOW, your trip just happened and you're already in Florida :rotfl: Haha, is that how TRs are supposed to go?

Your mom is beautiful! I can't wait for you to post a pic of the two of you together enjoying the happiest place on earth! I think it'd be fun to take a trip with just my mom when we're older. It'll be nice to get away and take things slowly and really enjoy all the little things.

Yuck to turbulance! Glad it didn't last long.

That room is really pretty. I love the color scheme.

Grease with chips...not sounding good...interested to hear the rest of the story!:goodvibes

Congrats to Justin on his award. And to you as a great Mom. Sorry you did not get the section you wanted. Yay for the pool!

Great update!
Sorry about the rough start to the flight...
I've not heard much about CSR, the grounds are lovely! I can't wait to see the pool!
I have to agree with the other posters, your mom is really pretty!
:cutie:

I'm here!! Congrats to Justin on his award!!! So sorry you didn't get the room you had requested. Can't wait to read more! :goodvibes

Hey Sooner Girl -

I think we visit a lot of the same TR's. I was visiting WDW the same week as you and just started my TR tonight. Great start to your TR. So great that you got to do a mom/daughter TR. Looks like you are off to a great start!

Yea, the TR started!

I won't tell you that you look just like your mom, because like me, you've heard it billions of times! One comfort I take from looking at my mom is, "wow, I'm going to look that good when I'm her age!"

Did the weather get at least a little better during your trip? I know you arrived on a hhhooottt day and next several days, but at least over here (1 1/2 hours away, on the Gulf Coast), the humidity really dropped. Well, for Florida level, I mean. :rotfl:

It sounds like you had a wonderful time, and I'm so glad that the few bumps along the way didn't get you down!!

I am here.....

Woo Hoo! Shocker is here  Thanks for joining in!

So.....how was the walk from the Ranchos to the main building? I know that the Ranchos are always the last section requested because everyone says it is so far. We've never been there, but we have requested for our trip in September so that we can say we've stayed in each section.

I didn't time it, but it wasn't too bad. We were in the building closest to the Cabanas section though so it was pretty easy just to stroll across the bridge to the other side. I can see where buildings 6A&B would be a bit of a haul. And, honestly, we didn't spend much time at the main building, didn't feel the need to.

The remodeled rooms at CSR are really nice, they have a bit more of a deluxe feel to them.

I don't mind flying just because it gets me to where I want to be so much faster, but I'm not a fan of take offs or landings, and turbulence makes me nervous :scared:

Thanks, he doesn't let on like it, but I think he's pretty proud of himself.

Turbulence is no fun, there were several kids on the flight screaming whoa! whenever the plane would drop a bit, I think a few of them were a bit nervous too!

The new decor in the rooms at CSR is so much nicer than what was there before!

UGH I can not stand to fly  Glad you made it safe and sound!

Awwww, thanks, that's so sweet! I've always thought my mom was a pretty lady.

You may be disappointed in the pool pics :sad2:

Isn't that crazy, one update and I'm already in Florida! Really, I'm having fun reading about all your road trip adventures - you'll get to WDW eventually, and I'll be able to enjoy your TR longer!

I'll have a picture of us together at dinner later on in this first day :thumbsup2
I had envisioned taking things slowly and soaking it all up, but the crowds instilled a sense of urgency in me and I wasn't able to relax as much as I had hoped - now I want a do over!

Thankfully the turbulence didn't last long - I would hate to have an entire flight be like that!

Uggggg, my lunch.....you'll hear about it soon!

Congrats to Justin on his award. And to you as a great Mom. Sorry you did not get the section you wanted. Yay for the pool!

Thanks Mary!

I got over not getting the section I wanted, really where we were wasn't bad, we were close to the main pool and not too far from a bus stop :thumbsup2

Great update!

We wandered around CSR and took some pictures of the grounds (much later in the trip though) and it really is a beautiful resort!

So glad you're here Becky!!

I was bummed at first about not getting the location I had asked for, but where we were turned out to be just fine.

Hi there, thanks for coming over! I know I've seen you around alot, so yes, we are on many of the same TRs. I'll be over to check out your TR in just a few minutes!

Yep, I have heard that I look like her alot, and believe me, if I look like she does in 20 years I'll be one happy camper!

No, the weather was in the 90s and humid all week

I really think it felt even worse to us because it hadn't gotten very hot here yet, our bodies just weren't prepared for it!

All in all we did have a really good trip, like you said, we just to endure a few bumps along the way. :thumbsup2

Hi there! :wave2: I followed you over from Becky's (ladybugmom) PTR.

You have such an adorable family!

You know, I have never had any interest at all in staying at CSR, but your room looks NICE! My opinion has definitely been changed! I can't wait to see more.

Yay for arriving-- sorry you didn't get the section you wanted :-/. Did you find it to be problematic for the rest of the trip?
I've never stayed at CSR, but that pool is so cool! I'm sure you guys had fun there.

You know the pictures are all because of the camera, since you have the same one and all :thumbsup2
Well, the camera helps, but the person snapping the pictures has to have some skill too! (which you obviously do!) :)

Justin got a plaque for maintaining a 4.0 or higher GPA throughout the school year. I'm proud of him, he's a much better student than I ever was. :goodvibes

Way to go, Justin! He and Rachel are the same age---I sure wish she focused on her academics as much as she did her social life! ;)

My teacher friends and I have a little line we use for girls around school who are pretty, but shall I say, a little clueless----"Good thing she's pretty. That'll get her far in life." In the south, this line is preceded by "BLESS HER HEART! Good thing she's pretty." (Because in the south, we can say anything about anybody, as long as we bless them! ;) )

SO, all I can say about Rachel is "Good thing she's pretty." :rotfl:

Now, I'm going back to read your update. :thumbsup2

Sorry you didn't get the building you requested, but hopefully, you came to enjoy the building you were placed in.

I love all the pictures of the new rooms at CSR. Those little Hidden Mickeys on the bed cover are too cute, and I love the idea of that sliding door. :thumbsup2 The curtain doesn't do much for blocking out light-- I'm sure that door works much better.

Checking in for your TR. I'm really looking forward to hearing the details of your trip. :thumbsup2 I've got a short mom and daughter trip coming up in July. We'll be staying at the BWI...a first for both of us. We are going to be redeeming our GAD passes for a day at AKL and then spending a day at Epcot. I haven't really done any planning for this trip (I save all of my neurotic, controlling behaviors for my DS and DH.) ;) We are just planning on eating at CS and doing a lot of things that men/boys don't love to do...strolling slowly through the gift shops, taking in all the details in the different Epcot countries, people watching and some resort hopping. I'm dreading the heat, but really looking forward to a more leisurely pace.

What a beautiful room!!! Love the dark wood and the duvet covers!!
I will never forget a few years ago my niece...she may have been 9 or 10 at the time..we were on our way back from Disney and we were in some pretty nasty turbulence....she puts her hands in the air and says see...just like Space Mountain! :rotfl2: I always try to maintain a manner of composure when the flights are "interesting" when I am traveling with them so that I don't show my inner :scared1:
