Flowers, Segways & DIS Meets, Oh My! - Updated 10/26, Final Thoughts-FINALLY!

Oh what great fun all that DIS meeting! The segway did sound fun and I never would have thought about what he said with the circulation, either! We have had lunch at Sunshine Station once before -- but like you said it always seems so crowded. Maybe that is because of so many people coming and going to Soarin, too...

I love the photos from the flower show. I think if I were to plan a solo trip some time it would have to be then. I go back and forth between food and wine, and this, all the time!!! :rotfl:

That is sooo cool you had the chance to meet all these ladies! SO neat! I would have loved that meet for sure! :goodvibes

Looking forward to Thursday, but enjoy getting ready for the tournament, how fun for Jared!!!

You got some great pictures from the Seas and the F&GF topiaries.

Sounds like a fun DIS meet too!

You had some fantastic photos from the aquarium! Of course, your topiary photos were great again.

Loved hearing the recap of the Dis Meet. I remember I had only left Epcot a couple of hours earlier and we ended up not going back to that park in the evening. I remember thinking that I was going to miss out on the Dis meet. :sad2: Oh well, the pool was calling us. After reading your post, I think we mist have been there at the same time, so I wonder if we crossed paths at all. I even think that may have been the same day we ate lunch at Sunshine Seasons too. That strawberry shortcake is good!

Good luck to your boys this weekend!

This looks goooood!

I had this for the first time on this trip. I was worried about the spicy part, so I asked for a sample. It convinced me to go for it. I picked the red peppers out, though. I got double noodles instead of broccoli. I like broccoli with the beef and broccoli, but not with the cashew chicken. Anyway, I liked it, and as full as I kept saying I was, I kept eating and eating until I almost finished it. I would have taken it with me to finish if we had been going straight back to the room, but we weren't, so I reluctantly threw some out.

Have a great time at the tournament! The boys' goody bags sound really cool!

What a great DIS meet!!! All those margaritas and DISers! You must have had an absolute blast!!! Wonderful picture of all of you!!!

I have yet to try Sunshine Seasons too but your food pics look delish. May have to try it next time.

The DIS meet looks like so much fun! You guys lucked out. I've seen that bar packed to the gills with people and no chance of sitting down let alone fighting your way up to the bar! But oh so worth it! :)

YAY!!! Our DisMeet. The drinks look like they had fun and I like the matching picture (to mine) from your camera!

I LOVE your pictures of Epcot topiary. They just brought back a flood of memories. :goodvibes

Wow, a DISmeet!! I think that would be very fun! Nice that you all connected. :)
It seems like you and your mom had such a wonderful time! It must have been fun to go a bit slower and enjoy everything.
The flowers are amazing, May is a great time to go!

Ok, now I have to go to the CAVA.....I have heard great things about it, but we didn't go in Oct. It looks like such a cozy place & looks like a great place for a dismeet.

Lunch looked great too...now I am hungry.

That was a fun DIS-meet! :goodvibes And those margaritas were strong--I was a little lightheaded when I left! :thumbsup2

Are you planning on doing anything fun in St. Louis or all tournament stuff? I live right outside of there so if you need any tips or advice on what to do, let me know!!!

Awesome update!

Your TR has me definitely wanting to see the Flower and Garden Festival one day.

Looking forward to hearing what you guys thought about Cirque:goodvibes

I love little Baylee's patriotic outfit! Super cute stuff that tiny girl is. :) Good luck to the boys on their tournaments too! Morghan's softball season wrapped up last weekend and we have a couple weeks to go with Dimitri yet.

Your lunch looks fabulous! We skipped SS and decided to try Mexico's CS place instead. Eh, not a great idea. I should have stuck with my original choice I think. Oh well, live and learn. Next time hopefully as those desserts look wonderful!

I enjoyed being able to ride an attraction that I never get to, but I must say after recently finishing the first Kingdom Keepers book, I'll never look at those dolls the same way again! :lmao:

I had the same thought just looking at your photos.:rotfl:

BTW, great trip report so far, can't wait to read the rest of it.

Good luck at the tournament..........hope it goes well!!! :thumbsup2

I love the topiary pics.........so pretty! :goodvibes

The Dismeet looked like a lot of fun..................Disfriends + Margaritas = A good time! :woohoo:

Interested in hearing what you thought about the Cirque show.........I've seen a couple of them, but not the one in WDW.

Oh wow, I didn't think it'd be a "serious" thing that the CMs would have to tell everyone to drink and walk around. Haha, it's definitely not feasible for me then!

Haha, I had to quickly scrolls down to pass your shark pic. And what a different view of the manatees than what I had when watching them from above!

I wanted to get the strawberry shortcake to try in April, but when we were in The Land, it definitely wasn't time for a dessert item! Love how there's always "next time."

What a great DIS meet! It must've been nice to be able to sit inside and just relax with a drink. Provides a much better setting for chatting it up!

Yes, Canada is beautiful! That's the kind of pavilion that would be the perfect place for a wedding or engagement photos!

First of all - enjoy your upcoming tournament. The boys sound so excited. I hope you have a blast. :thumbsup2

Second - I think I needed a flat Stanley to represent me during the Cinco de Mayo meet! I want to try every single one of those margaritas. Good to know they don't skimp on the main ingredient. I can't believe your mom tried the avocado margarita. Now that is brave to try something so unusual.

Lovely day at Epcot - just perfect and lovely pictures, too!

I've never heard of that San Angel bar.. the drinks look soo yummy! Especially yours.. idk if I could have gotten myself to get the avocado one.. I love avocado but idk about in drinks. hehe

I love all the pictures of the topiaries- they are seriously amazing- especially the bambi ones!

Your pictures of Thumper, Bambi, and Flower are so cute. Disney does a wonderful job with the flowers. It sounds like the Dis meet was fun.

Disney does do a great job with the F&GF, so creative!

We had a great time at the DISmeet :thumbsup2

Michelle - do you remember when the segway tour wrapped up exactly?

Loved your recap of the DisMeet!:goodvibes I so wish I had thought to get photos with the group before I left!:sad2:

Once again, love your topiary photos! And can't wait to hear about La Nouba! I love that show!!!:goodvibes

Hmmmm, I don't remember exactly, I know we ran just a bit over the posted 2 hour tour time, but not by much. We were probably done by 10:45.

I was so disappointed that I didn't think to do a group pic while you were still there :sad2:

Hopefully the La Nouba update will be coming later today!

Hooray for margaritas!! You said it nicely, those were well made drinks!! I could totally go for another fantastic dismeet like that one again!

thanks for the group picture, there were several cameras so I didn't bother with mine. You may see it again in my TR when I get to it :rotfl:

I could go for another DISmeet like that one too, I really wish we had stayed for one more drink.......

I'll be watching for my pic in your TR! I will probably steal some of yours as well. I can't believe I didn't take any more pictures than I did :confused3

Good luck to Jared and team! You have been a very busy Momma...but those boys are going to love those goody bags I bet! :goodvibes

Wonderful update...the F&GF has just blown me away this year, I am loving everyone's pictures and dying to go to it even more now! The teacups are my favorite.

And what a great DIS meet! I laughed out loud when Katie had 2 in front of her! But I didn't notice any cheeks that were (too) flushed in that group shot. ;)

Thanks, they are going to need luck to be on their side! They are a good team, but other teams always tend to pick up several players for these tournaments, we like to go with just our team, so we tend to be outmatched in pitching depth. If we play well we have a chance though!

You must go for F&G at least once - it's so pretty!

Yeah, that Katie, double fisted it all afternoon :lmao: Actually I believe the passion fruit was her SILs......

hey michelle! sorry I've been MIA but i'm back. I haven't quite caught up yet but I just read the last update! I'm super bummed Roman and I didn't make it to the Cinco De Mayo meet but looks like you folks had a blast!! you got really great pics of Epcot! and all of F&GF! Sunshine Seasons was good wasn't it?! We ate there also and were happy with all their selections! Well, I gotta go back and catch up! Can't wait for next update!

Hey Keala! I'm sorry you guys missed the meet too, it was alot of fun.

I've got links to all my updates in the first post - might make it easier to catch up :thumbsup2

Looking forward to Thursday, but enjoy getting ready for the tournament, how fun for Jared!!!

I think the Soarin' traffic does tend to make Sunshine Seasons seem more crowded than it actually is. I was very happy with all the selections they have though, we'll be going back for sure!

The F&GF is a good one to go to without kids, I doubt my boys would have been to happy stopping to look at all the gardens! Food & Wine sounds really good too though.......

It was a fun meet! If we are ever in WDW again at the same time, you and I will have to meet there for a margarita :thumbsup2

You got some great pictures from the Seas and the F&GF topiaries.

Sounds like a fun DIS meet too!

Thanks Sarah, it was fun!

After reading your post from this day I actually think you were probably still there during the meet! We probably ate lunch at about the same time too - so close!

This looks goooood!

I would have taken it with me to finish if we had been going straight back to the room, but we weren't, so I reluctantly threw some out.

The salad was good, it was just what I was looking for - nothing too heavy.

I took a bite of mom's and thought it was really good too, not too spicy, just enough to give it some kick.

Have a great time at the tournament! The boys' goody bags sound really cool!

What a great DIS meet!!! All those margaritas and DISers! You must have had an absolute blast!!! Wonderful picture of all of you!!!

Margaritas and DISers, doesn't get much better than that! We did have a good time, it was wonderful getting to meet everyone!

I was very worried that there wasn't going to be enough room in there for all of us, but thankfully they weren't too busy yet and could get us all in!

YAY!!! Our DisMeet. The drinks look like they had fun and I like the matching picture (to mine) from your camera!

I LOVE your pictures of Epcot topiary. They just brought back a flood of memories. :goodvibes

It was so great to meet you, I felt so bad to find out later reading your report that you were feeling ill that day! Rotten headache!

The topiaries were all so lovely weren't they? I need to work on a making a DVD of all the pictures set to music so that I can just pop it in and relive the trip whenever I want!

Wow, a DISmeet!! I think that would be very fun! Nice that you all connected. :)
It seems like you and your mom had such a wonderful time! It must have been fun to go a bit slower and enjoy everything.
The flowers are amazing, May is a great time to go!

I have to thank Katie (kschafer) for organizing the meet, it was so much fun to meet everyone!

At the time it certainly didn't feel like Mom & I were going at a slower pace, but I know we stopped and looked at alot of things that I wouldn't have if the boys had been along. They would have been so bored wandering through the gardens and shops!

Ok, now I have to go to the CAVA.....I have heard great things about it, but we didn't go in Oct. It looks like such a cozy place & looks like a great place for a dismeet.

Lunch looked great too...now I am hungry.

The Tequila Cave is a bit small, I think we were lucky to all be able to fit in there. It is a very cozy place - and they make great drinks!

They were well made that is for sure! I wasn't lightheaded though - not sure what that says about me :lmao:

I didn't realize you lived so close to St. Louis! We are planning to do some site seeing during our down time. I know we are going as a team to the Cardinals game Saturday afternoon. We're also looking at going to the arch of course, Forest park - I read that the zoo there is really nice, and the boys will definitely want to hit up Six Flags and Hurricane Harbor. Not sure after that, we'll just have to see how much time we have.
