You and your mom have the same great smile! :goodvibes

Count me in!!! Can't wait to read all about your trip!!! And see all the pictures I didn't take!! It was so nice meeting both you and your Mom :)

Tracy

I think I may have beat one of our common DIS meeters to your report. :rolleyes1 Let's see how long it takes for her (yeah, you, Kschafer) to recuperate and show back up around the boards.

HEY!! :headache:

I've been here ard there on the boards. The real world has smacked me hard and sent me into some serious post-Disney blues :guilty:

No worries...I'm around and will try to start my TR soon :flower3:

I'm here too!!! :goodvibes Your mom is so pretty!! I am SHOCKED at the crowds :scared1: It was so quiet when we went at that time...

Can't wait for the pics!!!!! popcorn::

Am I first? YAY! :yay:

Now, I've gotta go back and actually read---I was too excited when I saw no one had replied yet, and that I had the chance to be first !

:lmao:

Yay! Michelle is first :woohoo:

Ok, I went back to actually read what you had written! :)

I can't wait to hear how you liked CSR. The pics of the new rooms make it look really pretty.

Your mom is so pretty, and she looks so young! :)

You always have such good TRs, and great pictures. :thumbsup2 I'll be waiting for more! popcorn::

We enjoyed CSR, loved the new rooms - the beds were very comfy!

You know the pictures are all because of the camera, since you have the same one and all :thumbsup2

Great start Michelle! Great pictures of you and your mom. Can't wait to see more of your wonderful pictures and hear all about the trip.:goodvibes

Thanks for coming over Stacy! It's supposed to rain here all weekend, so I'll have no excuse for not getting an update or two out.

Hi I'm joining in! I was probably there the same time as you, I just got back on Tuesday! I agree, it was HOT, which was not what I expected, and CROWDED, which again, I did not expect! Can't wait to read more! I just started a trip report of my own...and then deleted it because I didn't like how it was coming out! Hopefully I'll start again tomorrow! :rotfl:

Hi there and welcome! Glad you're here. We were there from the 1st-8th, so I bet our trips did overlap! Weren't those crowds strange? I was shocked, I was so certain that we were going to be there during a slow period - I guess there is no such thing anymore.

Let me know if you restart your TR, I'll read along!

I'm here Michelle and can't wait to read your trip report.

Thanks for coming over Kathy - I said hello to your hammock for you, it's patiently waiting for your return :)

Subbing. Can't wait to see hear how it went with your mom. I have thought about taking my mom sometime.

Welcome! It was good, we rarely get to spend any extended time together so it was very nice to have that :goodvibes

Hi Michelle
I am here
can't wait for the trip report to begin
:)

Hi there! Not sure if I'll have time to get a real update in today (have a funeral to go to - yuck) but it's going to be a rainy weekend around here, so I'll definitely have one up soon. :thumbsup2

I don't think any of us got what we were expecting! But I'm glad you and your mom ended up having a mostly good time. I am excited to read about it and especially to hear more about that Segway tour!!!

At our big DISmeet PrincessInOz told us she felt like the crowds were low  It's all in your perception, I guess!

Don't want to give too much away, but I will say that the Segway tour was awesome!

Hey Michelle!
Just saw you started a TR! Can't wait to read it!!!!:goodvibes

Hey there Kristen! Thanks for coming over :yay:

Your mom looks plenty happy. I bet she had a great trip just spending time with her little girl. :) It was pretty hot, wasn't it? We didn't do much in the parks, and it was nice to let the girls cool off in the pool when we got back to AKL.

I think I may have beat one of our common DIS meeters to your report. :rolleyes1 Let's see how long it takes for her (yeah, you, Kschafer) to recuperate and show back up around the boards.

What kind of award is Justin holding? (Sorry, it's the mom in me. Totally non-DIS related.)

I think Mom did have a good time. I wish we would have taken a bit more down time, I just wanted to show her so much since it was her first trip....

Ha! Katie's been around a bit, she's just taking her time getting her TR started - oh Katie, we're waiting :rolleyes1

Justin got a plaque for maintaining a 4.0 or higher GPA throughout the school year. I'm proud of him, he's a much better student than I ever was. :goodvibes

:goodvibes YAY for first page!!! :goodvibes

I am sure the weather and crowds caught you off guard, but I am sure you bounced back okay. Can't wait to hear all about it and SEE all about it!

Hey HD! Woo Hoo for the first page!!

We made the best of it. You know I took a few pictures......

Thanks for posting! I'll get more out soon :thumbsup2

WOOT!! I'm here!! Can't wait to hear all about your trip!!!

I've got plenty to share, just need to get my TR mojo working!

Joining in! Can't wait to hear all about your trip!:goodvibes

Hiya Trish! I'm looking forward to sharing it.

Doing the first page dance!!! :cool1:

Woo hoo!! Can't wait to read all about it. My mom and a gf of hers are there this week. I'm hoping the crowds and temps were better behaved for them then they were for you!

Your only Longhorn friend,

Gelly

:lmao:

Edit: I missed the first page by one post!!! :headache: I need to type faster apparently.

Darn slow fingers!

I hope your mom is having better luck with the weather and crowds as well. I'll get moving on the report soon!

Your only Sooner friend,

Michelle

Thanks for coming over Kathy - I said hello to your hammock for you, it's patiently waiting for your return :)

And I dream of the day I'm in...but, unfortunately, not so patiently. ;)

Good for Justin. Both of my boys were athletes throughout school. And while I told them I was proud of their accomplishments in baseball, football, basketball and wrestling, my proudest moment was making good grades.

YAYYY! I wonder if you'll finish your TR before I finish mine :rotfl:

You know Rae, I just might! Unless you get another update up soon, I know I'll be in Florida before you

Yay a TR!! Sorry about the heat and the crowds-glad you still had fun!

Hey there Mary, thanks for coming over! It's hard not to still have fun at WDW!

Joining in! LOVED your Christmas TR!

Thanks for hoping on board! That Christmas trip was a special one :cloud9:

I am here!! :yay:

Yay! Katie's here!

I'm here!!! :yay: Can't wait to hear about all the fun!

I am with MeMom -- I want to know what award Justin is holding.

You and your mom have the same great smile! :goodvibes

Hi Jackie!

Like I told MeMom, it was an award for maintaining a 4.0 or better GPA through the school year. He got one last year too, I make sure that they are prominently displayed on his wall so that he doesn't forget that they are just as important as all of those sports awards that he has - even more so. He is a better student than I was for sure, as busy as he is with his extra curricular stuff and with the advanced placement classes, he's still able to maintain good grades. I'm pretty proud of him!

When I was younger everyone used to tell me that I looked just like my mom, only with a different hair color.

Here!!!!!!

Woo Hoo! Katie's here

Count me in!!! Can't wait to read all about your trip!!! And see all the pictures I didn't take!! It was so nice meeting both you and your Mom :)

Tracy

Yay, Tracy's here too! It was great meeting you as well!

I didn't feel like I took as many pictures as I usually do, but I still ended up with close to 1,000......

HEY!! :headache:

I've been here ard there on the boards. The real world has smacked me hard and sent me into some serious post-Disney blues :guilty:

No worries...I'm around and will try to start my TR soon :flower3:

Sometimes it's hard to get started on the TR. I wasn't feeling mine either, but figured if I started then it would come to me.

We'll be patiently waiting for yours popcorn::

Subbin' (:
Can't wait to hear all about your trip

Hey there & :welcome: to my TR! I'll try to get this thing moving!

I'm here too!!! :goodvibes Your mom is so pretty!! I am SHOCKED at the crowds :scared1: It was so quiet when we went at that time...

Can't wait for the pics!!!!! popcorn::

Of course it was quiet when you went Kristin! That's just my luck :headache:

I've got a few pictures to share, hope you like flowers......

And I dream of the day I'm in...but, unfortunately, not so patiently. ;)

It won't be too much longer, you'll be there!

Good for Justin. Both of my boys were athletes throughout school. And while I told them I was proud of their accomplishments in baseball, football, basketball and wrestling, my proudest moment was making good grades.

We try very hard to let our boys know the same thing. Excelling in sports in great, but school is more important :thumbsup2

Wow, Michelle! You are popular! I can't believe you are on page 3 already! This happened in 24 hours! :goodvibes
Looking forward to hearing about the fun... I'm sorry about the heat and humidity... this is something thing we are going to be dripping through when we go in August. :cool2: Let me know if you have any humidlty tips. We get pretty hot and humid here in the summer but I think Florida in August is going to be a bit more intense!

Hi Michelle!! Glad to be reading another fun report of yours. Your mom does look really young. How nice to be able to spend time that time together. :goodvibes

I feel so loved! :goodvibes

No real tips that will help all that much with the humidity. Take misty fans and afternoon breaks, the heat can really zap your energy - some time by the pool and/or a nap will work wonders :thumbsup2

Hey Kelli, so glad you're here! I've always thought Mom looked younger than her age. She complains that the gap between what people guess and what her true age is, is growing smaller though....

Thanks for the heads up Katie - just posted!

Moving right along but I'm finally here!

Yay Wigd is here! :woohoo: You're just in time, I was about to post an update :thumbsup2

Day 1, Saturday May 1st

Our flight was scheduled to leave OKC at 7:30 am. I had spoken to Mom the night before and she told me she would be at my house by 5:30. I was up, dressed and ready to go - and I was waiting.......

I called her about 5:40, she said she was close and would be there soon. My stepdad dropped her off and since we were only taking one carry-on, and it was hers, we still needed to pack my things that needed to go in there. Still we were able to leave the house shortly before 6:00. Thankfully we don't live too far from the airport, and had already checked in online, so we had no trouble checking our bags and getting through security in plenty of time to make our flight. Woo Hoo - we're on our way!

The first 10 minutes or so of our flight weren't a lot of fun, rather turbulent - I'm not a fan of airplanes making sudden drops, so I was a bit white knuckled until we flew out of it! After that our travel was fine, we even arrived about 15 minutes early - I love Southwest! :woohoo:

We made it over to the fake monorail and to the ME counter (on the "B" side  ) with no problems and were directed to the proper line for Coronado Springs Resort. First photo of the trip, Mom waiting for the ME bus

IMG_3384.jpg

I think we only waited about 5 or 10 minutes before we were led to the bus. We settled in for our ride and waited patiently for the video to start!

IMG_3385.jpg

CSR was the first stop, that was nice! We disembarked with a lot of solo travelers, conventioneers I assumed. I was secretly patting myself on the back for doing online check in, knowing that all of these people were going to have to wait. Well, the joke was on me because there were so many CMs working the check in counter that all those people were able to walk right up and begin their check in process, I however, had to wait in the online check in line for the one CM doing that. I really only had to wait for the person checking in when we got there and one other one before it was my turn, but I was bummed watching everyone else just waltzing right up to the counter! When it was our turn, I felt like the process went a bit faster than normal, but not exceedingly so. I was also disappointed to have not gotten the area that we requested. I was told that rooms in the area I wanted may be available the next day, but I'm not one to get settled and then move, so I just took what they gave me and made the best of it. This was the first of a few small disappointments that had me a bit bummed at the beginning of the trip.

We were in the Ranchos section, building 7B

Room

IMG_3396.jpg

I took some pictures of the room as soon as we arrived. I was not a fan of the old decor here, but the new rooms are beautiful!

IMG_3388.jpg

Queen sized beds instead of doubles, didn't matter so much for just two people, but would be very nice when traveling with the boys!

IMG_3389.jpg

The sliding doors to close off the bathroom area instead of the curtain like the other mods have was very nice as well

IMG_3390.jpg

Dresser, TV & desk. Mini fridge is inside one of the doors on the dresser.

IMG_3391.jpg

The runners on the bed are so cute!

As soon as the pictures were taken, we changed into our swimsuits, grabbed our mugs and headed for the dig site pool!

Up Next: Would you like a little grease with those chips?

So.....how was the walk from the Ranchos to the main building? I know that the Ranchos are always the last section requested because everyone says it is so far. We've never been there, but we have requested for our trip in September so that we can say we've stayed in each section.
