I am only have a very small intimate wedding and my MOH isn't keen on the idea of wearing a dress so we are going to get her a lovely suit to wear instead.

I don't really want to pay extorinate rates for flowers, but want something for her as she will be walking down the isle on her own, does anyone have any suggestions that wont cost the earth, try to do this all on a strict budget.

Thanks
Lisa

one idea could be to just have a few small roses tied tightly together, with a small simple ribbon around it. I think that 5 roses might be just right. you could use a small amount of green around it.

Thanks for the website, will check them out.

With regard to a few hand tied roses, would i have to order this through a floristry person or is this something i might be able to get and do myself?

I know a bride who watches the show "For better or worse" on TLC and she got ideas from the show on how to do her own flowers. She chose to get a couple bundles of roses from Sam's club, she cleaned up the stems, tied a bunch together, wrapped the stems in satin fabric she got from a fabric store and closed the fabric with beaded pins. Looked very pretty and it did not cost her much at all. You could do the same thing with 3 or 5 roses or calla lillies, or another type of flower. I would pick up an inexpensive bundle of flowers at the store and play with them to see what you can come up with, you may surprise yourself.

Thanks for the ideas colourmouse.

I can practice with our florists here before we fly out. Are florists regularly available on the international drive area or would we be able to get them from Walmart / Walgreens places like that??

If you go to one of the area grocery stores, or Sams Club is on 192 just about 1 1/2 miles north of 535, they will have flowers. Not sure about Walgreens or the Walmart - don't remember seeing them there but I've never really looked. You might call in advance?

We did this for my SIL's wedding. She was on a very fixed budget and we did all the girls' flowers ourselves. Make sure you use floral tape or wire under the ribbon and the flowers will really stay put. Was very inexpensive and they looked like they were from a florist.

If you are doing your own flowers and are using flowers with pollen on the inside......REMEMBER TO TAKE OUT THE "INSIDE" OF THE FLOWER!!!!! We went to a wedding we the bride had done her own flowers and she had huge yellow pollen stains all over the dress from the pollen falling and her brushing it off.....The flowers were beautiful...but the dress was ruined for pictures.

I don't usually frequent this board, but was just browsing trying to come up with ideas for a VW for 10th anniversary. Just wanted to say that I buy flowers at Sams regularly. They have always been gorgeous, and the roses come in a bunch of 25 for very little (I think like $12). It would be so easy to make a gorgeous nosegay for very little money.

I was at Sam's today, and stopped by floral just to check it out. 24 roses cost $14.88. Great price!
