I'm trying to decide if I want to make a basket for DD with rose petals to toss, or have a Rose Wand made for her to carry. I think the wand is liks $25-30, which would be pretty close to the cost of the basket, ribbon, and petals inside it. I really like the rose wands, I think they are a very nice touch and maybe i'm out of date, but i've never anything like it at any other wedding! But i also think a cute little Mickey Flower Girl basket would be adorable!! :rotfl: She's got 2 arms, can't she carry both?? :lmao:

I like the rose wands! They're very cute, and different! I've never seen them at a wedding before either! Plus, you're flower girl will feel like a princess carrying one!

Our flower girl (DD) had the little mickey gathered bag with the petals inside and she LOVED it! She liked being able to do something other than just walk down the aisle. She ended up overhead throwing the petals... it was really cute! :cutie: Just be sure to explain to your flower girl where to walk to because our DD walked up and down the aisles of guests throwing petals until she ran out! :rotfl:

Our dd will be doing both .. i am going to attach a tie on the side of the basket (ours is metal) with the red ribbon we am using so it helps her to hold both in one hand so she can "toss" the petals out of the basket.

I wanted to choose between the 2 but dh said he wanted both.. so i wasn't arguing..lol

We did two with baskets and two with little bouquets
Honestly i wish we stuck with all bouquets
as the little girls wont get their baskets until right before they go down the isle so in all the pics two were empty handed...also they dont drop that many petals...So its almost better to go with the rose wands as you get more use out of them

Oh that sounds cute!! When is your wedding?? I want to see how it works! :rotfl:

we are renewing our vows hopefully next dec. we were sposed to do it in feb but i wanted more time to get things and put htings together ( and loose weight) lol

I had my young bridesmaid carry a wand and my DD5 & DD2 sharing a basket. I think the wand would have been too much for the youngest girls to carry around all day. I ordered a flower girl basket, recieved it in advance and showed both the girls what they would need to do at the rehearsal. They both loved throwing the petals!!! My youngest had more fun picking them all up while the ceremony was going on LOL!!!

Will the florist let us see a wand made up when we do the ps? I think those might be cute for the mothers and still having flower girl do petals... opinions?

Jen-
Mine carried the Mickey Pomander, and had a handful of petals.
This way she had the bouquet for the pics, and matched the BM's, but she still got to drop petals.

Granted.. she couldn't hold many in her little hands, but it worked out well!

My flowergirl was a little older at age 8, but I had the rose wand for her and she loved. It made her feel like a real princess! :goodvibes

I'm going to do both. A basket at the ceremony and a rose wand out of silk so she can have it for good. We're going to use a Nantucket basket for the flowers as seen here:

I wanted something to reflect my Massachusetts roots. I'm going to put ribbon around it, once I find it in this mess I currently live in!;)

i did the rose wand for my niece - she was 4 1/2 at the time and her brother was just shy of 3. I thought without having a rehearsal (escape wedding) she would get flustered having to do something and I thought she would keep the wand. Well, her brother destroyed the wand the second he got a hold of it after the wedding - apparently he thought it was a sword and banged it into a few things and it fell apart! :rotfl2: I guess I should have asked for silk!! She was a little shy, so the petals would have just been another thing for her to remember.

there is a rose wand made up at francks so you can see them there.

Adding on to Jen's quetion, if you don't mind Jen, can you post pictures of your rose wands if you did them? I know that is what I am doing for my girls but I don't know how many roses I should do? I thought some of you had done one or two???:confused3

Thanks!!

Does anyone have a picture of the rose wands with three roses? I want to show it to my non-disney florist.
