Floridians...Have you seen snakes or maybe gators in your yards or even maybe...

Haven't seen any gators...and we have a retention pond in our complex. Have seen a few snakes though. I grew up on a lake in Michigan and we had snakes all over....I can't stand them....deathly afraid of them. But the few that we have seen here are harmless. Right before DD went on spring break I planned on one of our spring break projects being...planting some flowers in the front yard where there has been a nasty dirt patch since before we moved in. Went and bought everything that we needed for the planting, then about 2 days before we were going to do it, a snake shows up on our front porch. He hung around for a few days, then he got tired of getting hit by the stroller (i'd push it into him to scare him away) or hit with the broom, haven't seen one since. It's just one of those things you adapt to. When we first moved here I was scared of the lizards...and you see them everywhere. Now they have grown on me and I think they are cute (don't tell DH). And you get used to the stormy weather. Just pay attentiong to the weather person and your surrondings. If your out and about and it starts getting real dark out in the middle of the day, it's a good idea to get inside. You'll do fine.

Ewww...yep not a good feeling to start your morning. Just wondering if this snake just jumped in front of you. Do snakes jump?! JK.

I haven't had any problems with snakes or gators where I live, but when I go out to the reservation with my GF to go fish or see her dad, there's always a snake or gator somewhere. On quite a few occasions while I was trying to fish out there, I've caught a gator instead. One time I dragged in a 5 footer!

I have live here for 30 year since i was 5 the only gators i have seen was were in the canals they hardly ever come to shore, they start to come to to houseswhen peole start feeding them, most snakes are green(garden snake) or brown shinny sneaks( class snakes) they are harmless In 30 years i have only seen 3 excpet for at the zoo.
