Florida weather and Moonlight Magic in Sept. Give me the good the bad and the ugly

Also good for you for wearing flip flops in the parks. I’m always in awe of everyone wearing zero cusion footwear and walking endless steps.

Oofos originals are my absolute favorites. I have high arches so these save me from foot issues in the parks. I’m pretty much always in recovery mode anyways from running 🫠

Man Im airing all my dirty laundry out in this thread...

I am the werido who cant have my feet get dirty, this is also why I am so picky about clean showers at the resorts. I used to live in flip flops I remember the bottoms of my feet getting very dirty in them. I do own shower flip flops now though. :rotfl2:

Side note: did everyone know you can ask housekeeping for slippers :)

Nah I get it. Having a thicker sole sandal should help but that’s another thing I’ll be testing to see how dirty my feet get lol

We have a pair of room only sandals/slippers in our owners lockers that we switch into immediately when we get back to our room. I’m very much a no outside clothes on the bed type of person, as well. I haven’t been icked out by the showers yet but my sister definitely has a pair of shower sandals.

I love when someone shares a quirk that I have

So if it rains the whole night for MM everyone just makes the best of it?

Our plane tickets were insanely cheap $90 round trip. We have the AP and spare points. So it’s not really a money issue. It more about 8 hours on a plane and a day off work for DH. We also get back from Aulani on 08/28 and would fly to Orlando on 08/30 so there’s that too.

I just came back from WDW and the heat was a lot for me. Also it rained everyday we were there, each day starting around 4pm.

I have plane tickets booked that I have to cancel by tomorrow to not lose money. I have my room booked. I have my MM tickets secured for Sept 1 HS. I have an AP, which I probably wont renewer awhile so this is our chance to utilize it.

Our plan was to do pools during the day and visit the parks a couple hours each night and attend MM.

Do you think the heat August 30 through MM Sept 1 will be significantly worse than what I experienced over Memorial Day weekend? Or is it once you reach 90 it all feels the same type situation?

If you have been to a MM during this time of year did you get rained out? If so, what happened?

Lastly I know you all aren't meteorologists and even meteorologists cant predict the weather, just here for honest opinions if you think there is high potential for an absolutely miserable trip.
The good news if that it'll probably be hotter, rainier and more miserable than you just experienced.
Doesn't seem good news? Well, the bad news is that it's hurricane season.

Jokes apart, I'm going in September this year as I often do. Low crowds and lowest point charts balance, in my opinion, the miserable weather. This is how I cope:
Rope drop
An early sit down lunch
Afternoon back to the hotel at the pool or napping
Back to the park for evening entertainment or rides with lower waits (people try to make the most of the tickets staying all day, but at some point many just give up).

Arizona where it reaches 120
Well, that dry heat is so different, and the burning feeling under the sun is the same. FL heat is definitely worse than AZ heat to me.
Image walking outside in AZ in the afternoon, then there is a quick rain that doesn’t cool the ground down but create humidity, and not much wind; or you getting inside a car parked outside for an hour with a wet body after rafting…
That’s the heat of FL summer. But once you get used to it, you get used to it 😂
You are so obsessed with sporty wears haha. I remember VGCgroupie needs themed shirt. She might need to wait for a Disney co-branded one
wear a long sleeve to stay cool thing
It has to be some cool-feeling (and UV-protecting) material, like what AstroBlasters suggested. A Disney long-sleeved cotton one wouldn’t help you stay cool though might appear cool

As a person with no little to no melatonin, I am obsessed with not getting burnt while on vacation.
