Florida weather and Moonlight Magic in Sept. Give me the good the bad and the ugly

Oh no! Time to ditch the jeans! I can't even wear them in the parks on a cool day anymore because I just find them so restrictive and uncomfortable.
I havent worn shorts in public since 1996. I actually remember the last time I have a photo of me wearing them lookin all cute at Magic Mountain. I was 3 months pregnant and didnt know it. Never wore shorts again during pregnancy and after I had my daughter.

The good part is MM is at night when it is considerably cooler. The days can be 80's-9?. each degree over 90 feels experientially hotter to me. Days in the high 80's are OK but not ideal. No one can predict what the Temps will be. Personally I have been there in July in the low 80's and a breeze all week to 9? and no rain for 4 straight days - the rain is needed to cool things off. Late August (most frequent) and September second but years ago - In general it is cooler than July meaning you do not get the 90+ degree days as often but can. Also been in November where it was in the 90's all week. May-June to me have always felt hotter then the summer months as the sun is very strong that time of year. I recall a few days in June with 90+ both temp and humidity. Also been in Dec, Jan, Feb and March did not care for these months as the weather ranged in a week from 50 to 90 on a day by day basis -one time 30-.

That would be super fun. Are you at BCV that weekend? We will be at CCV

It doesnt help me that I only wear jeans 🥵
I have a friend in town for their annual conference and we get to stay club level at YC, it's amazing!

You absolutely CANNOT wear jeans, I forbid it. Most everyone will be wearing some form of athleasure that time of year, so start shopping. You will see a lot more of peoples' bodies in August, and no one cares b/c everyone is melting.

The part in bold honestly sounds terrible. 🤣
Hahaha, it's not great, but this is our life until basically November. It just started back up a couple of weeks ago, and every year we forget how much me sweat and how wet we feel for 6 months.
It's the price we pay to live so close to the beach and the Dis...and to never have to shovel snow. 😂

Are you just not comfortable showing skin or what? I gave up on caring what people think of my body. I wear shorts. I don't tan so my legs are blindingly white. I have some cellulite and spider veins. I figure...if someone is grossed out then they don't need to look at me. (And honestly, I'm so pale, it's kind of blinding to look directly at me in the sun. 🤣 )

I wear these shorts in the parks now - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09PYDXBQ7?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_13&th=1&psc=1

They make longer ones as well. Very comfortable and lightweight.

I also wear lightweight "hiking" type pants when it's a bit cooler. Maybe not fashionable for but Disneyland/Disney World...I care more about comfort.

At the very least, maybe you could find lightweight pants. Something thinner and more 'airy' for the parks. Something that wouldn't stay damp all day if it rains or if you get super sweaty. Other materials would dry out easier.

Linen pants or skirt at a minimum if you won't wear shorts.

Those shorts are cute. I can't care much anymore either, I mean I saw David Bowie in line last trip and no one even blinked.

Club level at YC sounds dreamy.

Since my legs haven't seen sun since 1996 Im not sure any amount of sunscreen would save them.

I had my daughter at 15 so my body wasnt ready to stretch yet .. I got some stretch marks and since I was so young I cared back then. Then it just became a normal way of life and now I am not sure I could.

I do have some that I bought to wear at Aulani.

OP, in answer to your original question, IME, it is far worse in September than in June--the heat, I mean, not WDW. WDW is much less crowded in September since school has restarted.

I was there last September with my sister, and she spent nearly the entire trip in the room, since she couldn't deal with the heat, although I have to say that she had a very hard time 2 weeks ago as well. This May has been brutally hot at WDW.

I'm not DVC so have no experience with MM, so I can't comment on that. But I will say that sometimes it's still extremely hot in the evenings in July/Aug/Sept.

I think this thread has convinced me to cancel our July trip for the Epcot MM and to pick up our AP magnet... My husband hates the heat (and hates living in So Cal during our summer months), so I don't want us all to be grumps. Plus I haven't told him we're booked at BWV since that's what I could find close to Epcot. BWV is his least favorite resort we've actually stayed at, and I think he'll revolt once he finds out :scared:

I was sitting at Geyser Point the outdoor restaurant at 9 pm and was kind of shocked by how hot it still was. I lived in AZ a very long time so I know heat but it its a different heat thats for sure

aww Im so sorry. I lived in Socal and then lived in Arizona where it reaches 120 but experiencing Florida... Florida is whole different kind of hot.
I have an extra AP magnet I would totally mail to you ;)

So, I was just at WDW over Memorial weekend and found it a little toasty but mostly totally fine. We did July, 2023, the record-breaking year, and it was HORRIFIC. There are no words for how horrible it was. We have done August in 2019 and all our pictures we are sweaty messes, even with Camelbak backpacks, misting fans, hats, and tank tops and shorts. We did August/September again in 2022, and it was soooo hot and humid. The minute we stepped out of the room our glasses and phones were fogged up. My husband has boob sweat stains by 9:30 a.m., and the kids and I look like tomatoes -- all red faces.

My husband has now told me that if I force him to go to WDW in summer, he may divorce me, LOL.
