This thread is for those who like to drive down. We drive down every year. Is it just me or does anyone else like (love) the grapefruit juice at the Florida Visitors Center on I -75.. just ask'n.. We're going to Disney World !!!! in 22 more hours. :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

We always stop for the orange juice, it makes it official that you are finally in Florida!

Good thread! I would love to hear from any Manitobans who drive down. We are thinking of driving down for the first time, and google says it's about 29 hours...eep!

This driving plan is centred around an active 3 yr old :yay: who has never driven more than 12 hours since she was an infant - which is easier since infants sleep lots.

I google-mapped from Emerson, MB to Kissimme, FL and the route goes straight south until Kansas, thru St. Louis, Nashville, Atlanta, then Kissimmee. Hope this is a good route, no idea.

Our plan is to leave around 7 pm the first night so our 3 yr old can sleep thru the first night, then arrive in St. Louis around 10am for breakfast, drive to Nashville around 1 pm for lunch, 1/2 a day out (zoo outing) then drive for 3 more hours to Atlanta around 7pm to spend the night at hotel with pool.

Then she goes thru a 7 hour drive :drive: to Kissimee, and that's the longest stretch of the whole trip.

Any other crazy folks out there? Will this work?

We drove down i 75 last summer. We had planned to stop for some juice, but we hit the florida border and were so excited that we were almost there that we ended up not stoping.

Every year I always tell my parents to stop there because we never have before. However after we leave Valdosta which is where we stay the night before we then do some shopping at outet mall in Lake Park, Georgia. So by the time we leave there we just want to keep driving, although maybe this August will be different and we can finally go there.
