I've just spent some time researching the vacation home rentals which look quite attractive for our needs (3 kids and 3 grandparents). Has anyone had any experience with Florida Sunshine. Really liked their website and how they presented the homes in each area. Also looking at the Oak Ridge development, says it is 1 1/2 mile from WDW property. DH is really concerned with ease of getting to parks v.s. WDW bus system. Thanks!

We have rented in Oak Island development for the past two years, but not through Florida Sunshine vacation homes. The area is wonderful. The homes are nice, it is very quiet. Although just off 192, you feel like you're miles from all the activity. The drive to Disney World is extremely easy, and you are by a major grocery store and plaza. We've already booked to return next year.

Thanks Ernie for the reply. When you say easy, how long from door to say parking in one of the parks. DH is really hesitant about the driving aspect. I'm trying to convince him it is no less hassle then running and waiting for the busses.

How's the weather, we had in the low 80's yesterday. Crazy!!

particularly oak island. we're not planning anything for a few years as meem will be in school full time and the family wouldn't dare go without me, lol, but when we do go again we are thinking of a large house so the grandkids can bring friends. Thanks for any info.

The construction on 192 is a bit of a problem, but getting from the Oak Island Development to the Magic Kingdom (the furthest) is no more than 15 minutes.
There are no 'addresses' for Oak Island, as it is a subdivision with each house individually owned. We rent through Premier Vacation Homes, and have had excellent experiences. The homes are only 2 or 3 years old, are in excellent shape, and come with everything you could ever need or want.
We would love to be there now. We have just finished the longest winter I can remember. We tap maple trees, and the snow was so deep this year we couldn't get to them. However, the temperature here now is a balmy 44 degrees, and we're enjoying it

Thanks again Ernie, enjoy that "warm" weather!

Meem - try Floridasunshine.com for the Alexander Homes. I really like how the website was set up.
