Florida school schedule

Can anyone tell me when the Florida school summer vacations are? I'm trying to plan a trip in early August and I'm wondering if the schools will be back in or not.

We go back August 2 - can't speak for the rest of Florida though. It really does vary county by county.

I have 3 nephews and 1 niece that attend private schools in FL, 2 in North FL and 2 in South FL, their schools start back in mid-August, around 9th to 16th. We are in private school in metro Atlanta, we start back on August 11th this year. Most public systems around us start back anywhere from the 2nd to the 9th.

It's last year's, but I can't see why it wouldn't be similar this year.

It looks though as most of Florida's schools will be back between the 4th and 15th.

"Students begin the traditional 2003-04 school year in Florida public schools as early as August 1, 2003, in Washington
County and as late as August 25, 2003, in Broward and Dade counties. Students begin the school year during the
week of July 28-August 1 in 1 district, during the week of August 4-8 in 34 districts, during the week of August 11-15 in
27 districts, during the week of August 18-22 in 3 districts, and during the week of August 25-29 in 2 districts."

i live in pensacola, fl and ours starts on august 9th. the teachers come back on the 2nd though.
do a web search for the school district in that county and they should have a schedule posted. ours just posted not long ago.
